Demopolis Alabama
Demopolis, the City of the People, was founded by a group of French expatriates, many of whom came to the United States after fleeing a slave rebellion on the sugar plantations of Haiti. Arriving first in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, they petitioned the U.S. Congress to sell them property and received permission to buy four townships at $2 per acre with the provision that they cultivate grape vines and olive trees.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
Demopolis is the largest city in Marengo County, Alabama, United States. The population was 7,483 at the time of the 2010 United States Census. The city lies at the confluence of the Black Warrior and Tombigbee rivers. It is situated atop a cliff composed of the Demopolis Chalk Formation, known locally as White Bluff, on the east bank of the Tombigbee River. It is at the center of Alabama's Canebrake region and is also within the Black Belt.Demopolis was founded after the fall of Napoleon's Empire and named by a group of French expatriates, a mix of exiled Bonapartists and other French migrants who had settled in the United States after the overthrow of the colonial government in Saint-Domingue following the failed Saint-Domingue expedition. The name, meaning in Greek the People's City or City of the People, was chosen to honor the democratic ideals behind the endeavor. First settled in 1817, it is one of the oldest continuous settlements in Alabama. It was incorporated on December 11, 1821..

Quick look at Praire Creek Campground in Lowndes, Alabama
Just a quick look at our campsite at Prairie Creek Campground in Lowndes County, Alabama. It is another beautiful Army Corps of Engineer's Park / Campground. This site has 30, 50 amp power, water but no sewer hookups. It does have a dumpstation though. No swimming allowed due to large alligator named George.

PICKENSVILLE Corps of Engineers Campground, AL
Are you looking for a great camping destination in the west central Alabama area? If so, consider the Pickensville Army Corps of Engineers Campground between Tuscaloosa Alabama and Columbus Mississippi. Although the campground is located in a remote area, it offers plenty of shade, good fishing, a nice swimming area, and a few interesting places to visit.

White Oak Creek COE CG, AL
If you are looking for a good camping destination in the southern part of Alabama or Georgia, consider the White oak Creek Army Corps of Engineers Campground on the Walter F George Lake near Eufaula, alabama. It is a safe, secure, well-groomed, and comfortable campground with lots of water recreational activities. Its only limitation was its limited children's activities.
Gunter Hill Army Corps of Engineers Campground
Open to the public, Gunter Hill Campground is managed by the Army Corps of Engineers. We recommend the Catoma Loop section with the wide paved roads, long RV sites (both pull thru and back in). All have plenty of shade and many have a river view. You can make reservations on recreation.gov.
