Romania: Pope Francis holds mass at Franciscan monastery
Pope Francis held a mass at a Franciscan monastery in Sumuleu Ciuc neighbourhood of Miercurea Ciuc city, as footage filmed on Saturday shows. Thousands of people gathered around the monastery where a huge stage was set up. The Franciscan monastery in Sumuleu Ciucis considered one of the most important Roman Catholic pilgrimage sites in southeastern Europe. It contains a wooden-sculpture figure of the Virgin Mary, known as the Shrine of Mary Comforter of the Afflicted. Pope Francis is scheduled to be in Romania from May 31 to June 2, during which he is expected to visit six locations. The last visit of a Pope to Romania took place in 1999 when Pope John Paul II visited in the country.

Exploring The Haunting Of Hill Monastery at Night! (SCARIEST ABANDONED MONASTERY)
In today's 45 minutes adventure i returned to an abandoned monastery on a hill at night what has turned the monastery into a very scary horror monastery. Although this building bears the name monastery, it is actually an old Byzantine priory that was built in the year 1777. A priory is the second house of a monastic order and has therefore indeed been linked to a monastery. The current buildings date from 1904, then the last major restructuring of the domain is done and then this location is also declared sacred.

MĂNĂSTIREA FRANCISCANĂ DIN ȘUMULEU CIUC ǀ FRANCISCAN MONASTERY IN SUMULEU CIUC

MJ TV News | Pope beatifies 7 Martyr Bishops
On his last day in Romania, Pope Francis presided over a joyful Divine Liturgy in the small town of Blaj, the heartland of the country’s Greek-Catholic Church, on Sunday June 2, where he declared “blessed” seven of its bishops, including one cardinal. All seven had died a martyr’s death in the decades following the suppression of the Eastern-rite Romanian Catholic Church in 1948.

1. Beirut is in Lebanon, not Syria.
2. At the time of the Roman Empire, Great Britain would have been known as Britannia rather than England. The name England was first used during the Middle Ages, referring to the tribe of Germanic Angles that settled the island after the fall of the Roman Empire.
3. Our Lady of Guadalupe is the only Marian apparition in the Americas to have been approved by the Holy See. Other Marian apparitions in the Americas have been approved by local ordinaries, including Our Lady of Good Success in Ecuador (1572), Our Lady of Good Help in Wisconsin (1859), Our Lady of Cuapa in Nicaragua (1980), in Venezuela (1984) and Our Lady of the Rosary of San Nicolas in Argentina (1980s).
4. At 2:06:35, the correct spelling is Hugh O'Flaherty, not O'Flattery

Community of the Resurrection
People of the Resurrection, Week 2
Marc Schelske presents week 2 of a 3 week series about the power and impact of the resurrection in our lives, our community and the world. In week 2 we see that the resurrection isn't just for us as individuals. It is the only reason the Christian church exists, it is the motivation for everything the early church did. The power that raised Christ from the dead lives on in us.

Carlinford proiry- WARNING CONTAINS FLASHING IMAGES
Carlingford Abbey, also called Carlingford Friary or Carlingford Priory, is a medieval Dominican abbey and National Monument nicely hidden just outside the town in Carlingford, County Louth, Ireland.
This large impressive abbey was founded by the Dominican Order in 1305 under the patronage of Richard Óg de Burgh, 2nd Earl of Ulster, and dedicated to Saint Malachy (1095–1148).
Two towers were added to the northwest and southwest corners of the west gable in 1423, giving the church its fortified appearance. Rebuilding took place in the early 16th century. It remained in use until the Dissolution of the Monasteries.
The buildings were then used for a hall, a barracks and a finally a handball alley, now its just a ruin, the site is very well kept and well worth a visit.
In 1671, under King Charles II, the abbey was to reopen, but ownership was disputed with the Franciscan. Oliver Plunkett, then Catholic Archbishop of Armagh, returned the Abbey to the Dominicans. The Abbey relocated to Dundalk in 1777.
Remaining at Carlingford Abbey are the nave, chancel and central bell-tower, built of rough coursed limestone and greywacke. Slightly to the south are outbuildings and a mill house.
Defensive towers, crenellations and a machicolation were added in the 15th century.

The Holy Prayer Rope
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner
Trisagion Films presents a piece of Orthodoxy which is undeniably one of our most sacred weapons in spiritual warfare! The Holy Prayer rope has been used since the time of the desert fathers. A prayer rope (Greek: κομποσκοίνι, Russian: вервица, Romanian: mătănii, Serbian: бројаница, Bulgarian: броеница) is a loop of knots, usually made of wool but sometimes of wood, that is used during praying to keep track of the number of prayers which have been said.

SUMMARY
=======
Several Catholic countries and populations fell under Nazi domination during the period of the Second World War (1939–1945), and ordinary Catholics fought on both sides of the conflict. Despite efforts to protect its rights within Germany under a 1933 Reichskonkordat treaty, the Church in Germany had faced persecution in the years since Adolf Hitler had seized power, and Pope Pius XI accused the Nazi government of sowing 'fundamental hostility to Christ and his Church'. Pius XII became Pope on the eve of war and lobbied world leaders to prevent the outbreak of conflict. His first encyclical, Summi Pontificatus, called the invasion of Poland an hour of darkness. He affirmed the policy of Vatican neutrality, but maintained links to the German Resistance. Despite being the only world leader to publicly and specifically denounce Nazi crimes against Jews in his 1942 Christmas Address, controversy surrounding his apparent reluctance to speak frequently and in even more explicit terms about Nazi crimes continues. He used diplomacy to aid war victims, lobbied for peace, shared intelligence with the Allies, and employed Vatican Radio and other media to speak out against atrocities like race murders. In Mystici corporis Christi (1943) he denounced the murder of the handicapped. A denunciation from German bishops of the murder of the innocent and defenceless, including people of a foreign race or descent, followed.Hitler's invasion of Catholic Poland sparked the War. Nazi policy towards the Church was at its most severe in the areas it annexed to the Reich, such as the Czech and Slovene lands, Austria and Poland. In Polish territories it annexed to Greater Germany, the Nazis set about systematically dismantling the Church—arresting its leaders, exiling its clergymen, closing its churches, monasteries and convents. Many clergymen were murdered. Over 1800 Catholic Polish clergy died in concentration camps; most notably, Saint Maximilian Kolbe. Nazi security chief Reinhard Heydrich soon orchestrated an intensification of restrictions on church activities in Germany. Hitler and his ideologues Goebbels, Himmler, Rosenberg and Bormann hoped to de-Christianize Germany in the long term. With the expansion of the war in the East, expropriation of monasteries, convents and church properties surged from 1941. Clergy were persecuted and sent to concentration camps, religious Orders had their properties seized, some youth were sterilized. The first priest to die was Aloysius Zuzek. Bishop August von Galen's ensuing 1941 denunciation of Nazi euthanasia and defence of human rights roused rare popular dissent. The German bishops denounced Nazi policy towards the church in pastoral letters, calling it unjust oppression. From 1940, the Nazis gathered priest-dissidents in dedicated clergy barracks at Dachau, where (95%) of its 2,720 inmates were Catholic (mostly Poles, and 411 Germans), 1,034 died there. Mary Fulbrook wrote that when politics encroached on the church, German Catholics were prepared to resist, but the record was otherwise patchy and uneven with notable exceptions, it seems that, for many Germans, adherence to the Christian faith proved compatible with at least passive acquiescence in, if not active support for, the Nazi dictatorship. Influential members of the German Resistance included Jesuits of the Kreisau Circle and laymen such as July plotters Klaus von Stauffenberg, Jakob Kaiser and Bern ...
Mount Tabor - Greek Orthodox Church (BibleWalks.com)
On the north-east side of the top of Mount tabor is a Greek-Orthodox monastery, St. Elias, named after Elijah the prophet. It is located to the north of the more famous Transfiguration Franciscan monastery, and is not normally open to the public.
The monastery commemorates the transfiguration event (Matthew 17 1-2): And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him..
The monastery was built in 1911, over the ruins of earlier churches.
