ABOUT US
Fredericia Theater is one of Denmark's most distinguished presenters of musical theatre. With audiences of more than 150,000 patrons in one season, Fredericia Theater surpasses the major theaters of cities such as Aarhus, Aalborg, and Odense. Fredericia Theater is dedicated to attracting a large audience from all over Denmark, with its innovative approach to producing relevant and groundbreaking musicals. While Fredericia Theater is over 130 years old, the theater's current wave of success began in 2011, when they began exclusively presenting musicals that had never been professionally produced in Denmark. Their national breakthrough came in 2012 with Disney's Aladdin, which became a huge success not only in Fredericia, but also as a summer production at the Opera House in Copenhagen, selling a total of 100,000 tickets. Since then, the theater has alternated between presenting new musicals such as Esaura (2013), Lizzie (2014), Ole Lukøje (The Sandman) (2015) and Bleeding Love (2015), Danish premieres of American musicals like The Last Five Years (2012), The Drowsy Chaperone (2013), Avenue Q (2013) and Young Frankenstein (2014), as well as large-scale sold-out productions such as Disney's The Little Mermaid, Shu-bi-dua – The Musical (2015/16), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (winner of the Reumert Arts Prize), and Seebach (2017), with more than 150,000 tickets sold.
