Croatia Island Tour, Krka National Park, and Touring Zagreb on a Budget
Croatia is beautiful. We toured the islands of Korcula, Hvar, and Vis from Dubrovnik. You normally have to take a ferry from Hvar to Split and then another ferry to get to Vis but we were able to negotiate with the boat tour we took from Hvar to Blue and Green Cave to drop us off at the Vis Town at the end of the tour. From Vis, we came to Split and then spent a day in Krka national to swim in the waterfalls. Finally, we went to Zagreb and went to the museum of Broken Relationships and took the Free Spirit Walking Tour of the city. For more Budget Traveling Tips Check out my blog at:

Exploring Zagreb and Split
Welcome to the very first Croatia travel vlog where we walk around Zagreb and Split. In this episode we see the Zagreb Cathedral on Kaptol, a Roman Catholic institution, not only the tallest building in Croatia but also the most monumental sacral building in Gothic style southeast of the Alps. In Split, we look into Diocletian's Palace an ancient palace built for the Roman Emperor Diocletian at the turn of the fourth century AD, that today forms about half the old town of Split, Croatia.

People often come to me, at fairs and exhibitions, asking if I knew this or that person, if I remembered this or that, referring to the war. I tell them I have no idea, that I do not recall anything. I buried it all a long time ago, I do not wish to remember anything at all.

Our experience with occupational therapy is very good. For the past few years, since we started developing the program of veteran co-ops, more than 100 co-ops have been founded. We have very good results, especially with those of artistic orientation. I believe that working with art helps people to confront traumatic experiences and to overcome them.

Attending a fair like this one you reach the peak, only then I see how thrilled the people are with what I do. Their excitement means acknowledgment for my work. I do not have many official acknowledgments, my acknowledgment are the people.

LEAD IN:
War veterans are carving out a new life for themselves by creating one-off pieces of furniture in Croatia.
Thanks to a government founded co-operative, many of the veterans are starting to put their traumatic past behind them and rebuild their lives.
STORYLINE:
The 1991 - 1995 war in Croatia destroyed many lives and left survivors traumatised.
Now veterans are being being helped to come to terms with the conflict and their role in events, by an artists' co-operative based in a forest on the edge of the town of Slavonski Brod.
The Seed, Stomp, Art, Life was founded by Andrej Macko, who was twenty-years-old when he first went to war.
However locust wood is their favourite.
