Gothenburg, City Walk - Sweden 4K Travel Channel
Gothenburg, with more than 980,000 inhabitants, is the second largest city in Sweden.
The area was already populated in the Stone Age. Gothenburg attained special importance, when the town granted free access to the North Sea,while Denmark controlled the access to the Baltic.
The city of Gothenburg was founded by King Gustav II Adolf in 1619. In the 18th century, the Swedish-East India Company was founded; the only company that was allowed to do trade with India and China. In the 20th century, Gothenburg was an important headquarters of the textile industry. Due to an unstable underground, the looms rubbed themselves off unilaterally. Sven Gustav Wingqvist constructed then the pendulum ball bearing and founded the company SKF(Svenska Kullagerfabriken), from which later the automotive supplier Volvo emerged.
After our arrival in Gothenburg, the night falls and we are looking to get something to eat nearby our hotel. Quickly, we find the Lagerhuset at the harbor. Since it is a warm pleasant summer evening, we can sit on the benches in front of the restaurant. Afterward, we admire the play of colors of the sunset. The clear colors of the summer evening in the north fascinate us again and again. Unusually for us, of course, is that at the time of the recordings it is already 22:30.
The next morning, we start our walk in the same direction and then turn into a Rosenlundsgatan until we arrive at the Fish Church, Feskekörka.
This building, designed by the city architect Victor von Gegerfelt, got his name due to its resemblance to a Gothic church. The Fish Market opened in 1874 and replaced the former outdoor fish market.
Fresh and tasty presented, you get the best seafood in Gothenburg here.
After a quick snack, we continue Sahlgrensgatan and turn left into the Victoriabron. Here are a number of educational institutions, from a teacher academy to university.

Gothenburg Haga - Sweden 4K Travel Channel
Haga is the oldest neighborhood of Gothenburg and known for its well-preserved picturesque wooden houses.
In the initial period, it was the district of the workers, with craft shops and factories. In 1857, the Robert Dickson Foundation built a home for the working class in Neoclassical style.
In the 1920s, many of the businesses were closed and Haga turned into a residential neighborhood. Today Haga is popular neighborhood both with locals and tourists.
Along the cobbled streets, you find many pastel-colored wooden houses from the 19th century in the original architecture. The Haga district has been lovingly restored in the 1980s and is largely car-free.
The cozy neighborhood also attracts with small shops, antiques, boutiques and a variety of cafes.
The Café Husaren in Haga Nygata 28 is known about the limits of Gothenburg. The specialty of the student cafes are Hagabullen, Sweden's largest cinnamon buns. Unlike the normal cinnamon rolls (Kanelbullen) the Hagabullen have a diameter of about 20 cm and weigh approx half a pound. Enough to not stay hungry during the day, or to share them with your friends.
Coffee lovers like to meet in the cozy Café Kringlan, noted for its good coffee. As almost everywhere in Sweden, you can get a refill free of charge.
We stroll through the Haga Nygata and a spice shop particularly catches the eye, the Curry House. We ask the friendly owner if he allows us to take some video shots, which he does. It's amazing what a rich assortment fits in such a small space. And then there is the competence of the holder, of which we could convince ourselves personally.
We continue our walk and see the three-story Skräddare Peterssons Hus, designed by C G Dahmn in 1854.

Dahmn entworfen.

Gothenburg is the largest non-capital in the Nordics and located on the beautiful west coast of Sweden. The city is encircled by rocky shoreline, deep forests, tranquil lakes and the surging sea to the west. No other Swedish city gives such easy access to nature. Right on the doorstep are wide open spaces and magical islands. Gothenburg is an open and accessible city. It offers almost everything you would expect of a cosmopolitan city – within walking distance. All you need is right in the city and you can get everywhere on foot – from the Central Station to your hotel, to the arenas, shopping, restaurants and nightlife.

With the High Speed Train from Gothenburg to Stockholm - Sweden 4K Travel Channel
A journey with the High-Speed Train from Gothenburg to Stockholm takes about 3 hours. Although with 200 km/hour, the train does not reach the top speed of trains in Germany, France, and Spain, however, the journey of approx 450 km passes like in the flight.
We opted for a ride on the MRT Express and booked the ticket in advance via the Internet. The doors are opened 10 minutes before departure. On board, you have free Internet.
The varied landscape with its numerous lakes, forests and meadows is repeatedly interrupted by smaller towns. The southern and central Swedish lakes landscape were dominated mainly by the glaciers of the last ice age. After defrosting of the glaciers, the landscape has lifted to 800m. Still today the rise of the land masses, once depressed by the huge weight of ice sheets, is up to 11 mm per year.
We also could catch a glimpse of Sweden's strong industry in Södertälje. Here is a facility of AB SkandiaTransport.
The closer we get to Stockholm, the denser the settlement. The train arrives at the central station, Stockholm Centralen on schedule. Stockholm Centralen is the largest railway station in Sweden and is used daily by more than 400,000 visitors. The many shops convey the impression you are in a mall.

European Studies at the University of Gothenburg
European studies is a diverse subject that contains endless possibilities for a creative mind. Where you go and what you do with the knowledge you gain is up to you. The notion that one is free to shape ones future career is many times somewhat scary and confusing. We wanted to make a movie that showed how our alumni have used the knowledge gained and gone about to shape the future of Europe
- Johanna Sjöström, Alumni, project leader
This film is a product of our ambition to develop a strong alumni network for both our students and alumni to enjoy. The film can also be viewed as a product of a survey (2013) where we present our alumni experience of their studies as well as the translation this had in to their professional lives. The survey was presented at our website (in Swedish).

Today we are going to my boyfriends brother that lives in gothenburg. We first stopped by the grocery store ICA to buy lunch we are going to make there. The second stop was Netonnet to buy a device that makes the internet stronger. In the store I was longer to buy a new laptop so I can edit my vlogs sitting on the couch. The second place on my wishlist is a new camera. I want a fisheye and it should have great quality in low light.
Than we were off to Gothenburg with Bojans parents. We made lunch, Salmon for me and goulash soup for everyone else.
Then we went to o'learys to play bowl and then we went to El magazzino and eat pizza, can really recommend that place, everything was so delicious.
Then I saw for the first time this season, it was snowing!! Love it!! Then we went home to Borås again
