Moody Betty in Zagreb. The same Croatian Zagreb that won our hearts in FIFA 2018.
It was a very hot day. Despite the harsh sun we managed to take the free walking tour in the old town of Zagreb, Croatia. We got to know history and the entire fold of FIFA world cup celebration as it happened on the its streets. This Betty though doesn't look so excited, of course she was dragged to continue, rest see how she goes all the way to finish the tour.

CRAZY DUBROVNIK STORIES | Old City Walking Tour | Sail Croatia Day 3 of 8
Dubrovnik has some crazy history so today we made our way from the port and took a walking tour of the old city. Sail Croatia... ⬇ Click 'Show More' ⬇
A walking tour of Dubrovnik seemed like the best way to learn about the old town, the city history, the walls and castle development and just how the old town came to be. We weren't wrong. Beyond the Game of Thrones fame, Dubrovnik has an incredible past.
History ranging from attacks, bombs, fires and more have shaped the city of Dubrovnik to where it is today. This tour was only an hour long and gave us so much insight into Croatia as a whole, while also providing a great tour of the Dubrovnik town inside the walls as well.
This is day 3 of our Sail Croatia Explorer Cruise and we LOVE IT! We were docked in the Dubrovnik Port, well actually it's Port Gruz, and made our way in to the city for one of the optional excursions provided by Sail Croatia.
Sail Croatia is known for it's Navigator cruise, it's more tailored towards the party vibe and younger crowds. We were so pleased to hear they also offer multiple other cruises and the Explorer cruise was right up our alley! Check out the Sail Croatia Explorer Cruise here:

ZAGREB, Croatia - a 2 Minute Tour
Today we're hanging out in Zagreb, Croatia. Zagreb is the capital of Croatia and is an absolutely beautiful city. This is a quick 2 minute tour of what this city has to offer.
Our schedule for the next couple of weeks:
------------------
SUBSCRIBE! -
------------------
The city of Zagreb is divided into three sections:
The old Gornji grad (Upper Town) containing the presidential place, the iconic Saint Mark’s church, the Croaction parliament, and museums and galleries adorned by cobbled streets lit by gas lamps.
The 19th century Donji grad (Lower Town) with shops, restaurants, cafes, theatres and parks.
The Novi Zagreb (new Zagreb) full of high rise buildings and not too much to offer to visitors.
Interesting Zagreb:
Zagreb is called a city of museums as there are more of them per square foot than any other city in the world
Saturday mornings are not for sleeping in. They're for getting glam and strutting yourself at the markets and getting a coffee downtown. And everyone does it at the exact same time, between 10:00 and 14:00, just on a couple of streets in the city centre. It's the hub of Zagreb culture. Forget Friday night – Saturday morning is the time to dress it up, grab your shades, and hit the catwalk of Croatia.
The city is full of reptiles and medieval statues of snakes and dragons abound. Visitors can take walking tours which give the Brothers Grimm a run for their money - rumour has it a cursed snake queen is buried deep down in the tunnels of Zagreb's medieval mountain fortress, Medvedgrad.
The city hosts a truly unique Museum of Broken Relationships, devoted to mementos from relationships of all kinds. It's quirky, it's personal, nostalgic, and somewhat melancholy - but it's one of the hottest attractions in Zagreb.
Croatia has a thing about cats. The cute creatures are everywhere, dozing in sunbeams and begging for scraps from cooing tourists. Gorščica is no exception. But instead of a busy restaurant, this mountain house retreat offers a place to cuddle with cats in peace and quiet.
The city centre has free wifi, along with many other streets, hotels and cafes throughout the city. In fact, there's a whole Facebook page offering the passwords for free wifi in the city. So in Zagreb you'll never be lost – and you'll never be without Instagram.

The internet is sadly becoming more and more toxic/negative, and when it comes to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the level of extreme racist, ethnic, nationalistic and other purely cruel comments has been really upsetting.

10 Things to do in Zagreb, Croatia Travel Guide Video Transcript:
Our travels in Croatia brought us to Zagreb known for its lively street markets, vast green spaces, and varied architecture that spans numerous movements, we reached the capital and hit the ground running. In this video we’re going to show you some fun things to do in Zagreb, as well as share our favourite place for sampling the most delicious truffle dishes:
From the main square you have the Flower Market, and if you head up the steps, that leads to Zagreb’s Central Market.
Zagreb Cathedral is one the city’s main landmarks. This is the largest sacral building in the Gothic style southeast of the Alps, and it’s pretty easy to spot the spires wherever you are in the city.
Our walk through the Upper Town eventually lead us to Tkalčićeva. These days you’ll find a lively street lined with restaurants, cafes and bars.
We reached what may be the most memorable museum in the whole world: The Museum of Broken Relationships. The museum is a global crowd-sourced project that deals with heartbreak. Inside you’ll find curious objects with a corresponding story.
St. Mark’s Church bears the medieval coat of arms of Croatia, Dalmatia and Slavonia on the left-hand side, and the emblem of Zagreb on the right.
To enjoy city views of the Lower Town there are some great vantage points along the promenade.
On our way down from the Upper Town, we walked through Zagreb’s famed Stone Gate. Once the eastern gate into the medieval settlement now houses a small chapel.
Let’s take a break from all the sightseeing to introduce you to one of our favourite restaurants in Zagreb when it comes to truffle dishes
And craving more views of the city, we then went up Zagreb 360.
Known as the Green Horseshoe, this park was named after Milan Lenuci who came up with the idea of creating connected green spaces right in the downtown. The horseshoe is home to several museums, galleries and archives.
If you’re into hockey and you visit Zagreb during the season, you can catch a game in the city. We watched Medveščak Zagreb play.
And that’s it for our visit to Zagreb! We hope you enjoyed this travel guide and that you got a few ideas of things to see, eat and do on your own visit.

Zagreb (Croatia) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Zagreb is the political and cultural heart of Croatia, an amiable capital city located at the intersection of Central, Eastern and Southern Europe and a city that holds many memories of the Danube Monarchy. Zagreb originated in the Middle Ages from two rival settlements on neighbouring hills, the bishop's seat of Kaptol which is dominated by its cathedral and the free city of Gradec which was its political centre. They both formed the city’s Upper Town. The cathedral dominates the Kaptol district, its two steeples towering above the old city. The city’s marvellous Botanical Garden contains an array of wonderful natural sights. It boasts ten thousand tree and plant varieties including alpine, Mediterranean, and the exotic. Small ponds with water plants are also included in the four point seven hectare gardens. An imposing arcaded facade forms the entrance to the Mirogoj Cemetery which is laid out as a park and is an artistic masterpiece. Here, leading sculptors built tombs for the country’s most famous personalities from the arts, culture and politics, including the grave of Franjo Tudjman. A narrow mountain road leads up to the Medvednica Nature Park, outside the city gates. The mediaeval Medvedgrad Fortress is a most striking and interesting attraction located in twenty three thousand hectares of natural landscape. Zagreb is a special city, unique, with a never-ending story, a city that has witnessed a thousand years and, due to its historic values, has become a European Capital Of Culture.

MIROGOJ CEMETERY | DOLAC MARKET | ZAGREB, CROATIA
Mirogoj cemetery and Dolac market! What’s not to love about Zagreb?! ⇩Click to see more⇩
MIROGOJ CEMETARY: This place really takes you back in time. With the lovely large columns at the entrance, it’s pretty hard not to be mesmerized by this beautiful piece of architecture. As mentioned in this video, Miogoj is owned by the city, and has many different religious burials, from Jews, Muslims, Protestants, Catholics, etc. Not only is Mirogoj a cemetery, but it feels as though you are walking through a time machine, everything was preserved so well, I was really quite surprised. I can see why many famous Croatians are buried here. It is beautiful!
DOLAC MARKET: If you are only in Zagreb for a day or two, then I highly recommend visiting the Dolac market. They really give you a great feel for the Croatian culture in a short amount of time. My favourite moments had to be walking through the big red umbrellas seeing all the locals call out to each other. Also, people watching in the cheese section, seeing all the old ladies proudly selling their products, and to see the butchers cut meat to perfection. The cherry on top was at the end when all the old men gather in the bar afterwards for a cold brew. What a day! :)
If you know a friend who is travelling to Zagreb anytime soon, make sure to share this :)
