Freshwater East is a village in Pembrokeshire, south-west Wales. It is 2 miles to the south of Lamphey and approximately 7 miles to Pembroke. The majority of the village is located on the cliff overlooking the bay.
There are few services in Freshwater East apart from a pub, a twice-daily bus service to Pembroke and the surrounding villages, and Lamphey railway station on the Pembroke Dock branch of the West Wales Line operated by Arriva Trains Wales. Trains stop on request.
Freshwater East is the site of a Green Coast Award Beach. In the valley there is a holiday park called Trewent Park. The beach hosts The Big Draw - art drawn on the beach along with natural items.

2011, April 6th. The walk from Freshwater East, past Greenala Point to Stackpole Quay (Cei Ystangbwll). Greenala Point accomodates the remains of an Iron Age Promontory Fort, with impressive earthwork defences to the landward side

Freshwater East to Tenby
A pleasant paddle for anyone with a few hours to spare and the right tide. Took around 6 hours on the east going tide. Take your time and you can spend the afternoon rock hopping through arches and small coves. There are some great secluded beaches along this stretch too - read more here...
???? Hidden Gems of South Wales - Driving in FRESHWATER EAST
Freshwater East has a broad, wide, sandy beach that is dune-backed in the middle and has some sheltered rocky sections on the east side. The dunes behind the beach are a local nature reserve ‘The Burrows’.
Freshwater East has a history dating back to the Iron Age, with the remains of a fort at East Cliff.
During the 18th century, Freshwater East was a stopping off point for coastal shipping requiring water and it also achieved notoriety for smuggling with contraband being stored in the cliffs.
In Victorian times Freshwater East was part of a busy social scene and very popular for outings and picnics.
