2018 RIDE FOR CANCER in Nova Scotia
This year, some awesome friends and I decided to put a team in for the 2018 Ride for Cancer from Mahone Bay to Halifax, Nova Scotia, in support of the QEII Foundation and a Leukaemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada. We also decided to dedicate our team name and our ride to our beautiful friend Brandon Thomas who we lost earlier this year, after his brave fight with cancer.
So grateful to have been part of such an amazing event, and to everyone who helped us raise over $7,000 as a team.
Wishing everyone health and happiness.
Hurricane Dorian: Canadian officials preparing for storm
The Canadian Hurricane Centre says a hurricane watch is in effect for all of Nova Scotia and tropical storm watches are in effect for southeastern New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, the Magdalen Islands and western Newfoundland.
The most likely track projection brings Hurricane Dorian south of the Maritimes on Saturday, with the storm pushing through eastern Nova Scotia Saturday night, and then over the eastern Gulf of St. Lawrence or western Newfoundland by Sunday morning.
The forecast is calling for severe winds and torrential rain, with a major impacts for southeastern New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, western Newfoundland and Quebec's Lower North Shore.

Dartmouth to Truro, Nova Scotia Routes 111, 118, 102
Unfortunately, it was a rainy day when I made the drive from Dartmouth (near Halifax) north to Truro. The rain stopped for the rest of the day's videos, but this one is pretty drippy. Almost any other video from this trip will be better than this one.
MyDrivelapse.com and Takemytrip.com provide driving videos and stories to help you plan your trip. Check out hundreds of videos on my YouTube channel. Subscribe if you like it! Dozens of new videos are on the way in the coming weeks.
I made this trip in early October, 2016. Video shot with a Brinno TLC-200 Pro time-lapse camera, mounted on my roof with a homemade magnetic case. I travel with two Brinno cameras - one facing forward, the other in reverse. Sometimes the reverse camera captures better video (fewer raindrops and bugs hit the rear-view lens).

HALIFAX'S NOCTURNE, 2017 STYLE!
Last night was the most amazing festival ever, Nocturne Halifax is an annual event showcasing lots of different amazing and extremely talented artists.
For our 2017 Nocturne tour, we started out at the Halifax Public Gardens after taking the Halifax Transit downtown. We then, of course, headed over to Museum of Natural History to pickup a well thought out and custom designed lantern in the form of a paperbag. It shined the way through the night. Even the good folks from Emergency Health Services - EHS were on hand with a wambulance.
Of course, a walk down Spring Garden Road required a special stop at Stillwell's beer garden for a brew on this particular night. The YMCA of Greater Halifax/Dartmouth had a great exhibit on peace & love along with A Hidden Gallery before heading to the Halifax Central Library.
Next we headed off to Willy's Fresh Cut Fries & Burgers which makes my fav poutine in the maritimes.
Halifax Dance put on a great performance and so didn't Incendia Motus.
Big thank to Starbucks Canada for the drinks to keep me awake :)
