Friendship Peak is a majestic mountain, situated at Pir Panjal range, in Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh. This mountain, covered with snow, is perched at an altitude of 5,289 m above the sea level. The best route to access this peak is through Dhundi and Beas Kund. One of our most favorite areas for mountaineering, Ski mountaineering and Ski touring is the Beaskund glacier. The area is approached from Manali. Friendship Peak in the Beas Kund area is an ideal non-technical or trekking peak for those with limited or no mountaineering knowledge. Surrounded by several other peaks like Hanuman Tibba, Shetidhar,Indra Asan and Deo Tibba offers spectacular panoramic views of the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar ranges. Climbing Friendship does not require any prior training & experience in mountaineering although the climb to the summit is quite steep on ice and snow and also requires use of crampons and ropes at certain points. Good fitness level & some trekking experience is essential to be able to join this climb.

Friendship Peak Expedition - A Panoramic Feast
Standing tall at an elevation of 17,348 ft is the Friendship peak and the expedition towards this peak is nothing short of marvelous. As you start the trek you walk through dense forests, alpine meadows, and vast snowfields to reach the top. The panoramic view from the peak is the perfect reward after the toiling expedition, You can see peaks like Hanuman Tibba, Shitidhar, Indra Asan and Deo Tibba.

Friendship Peak Expedition 2019 (Himachal Pradesh)
Friendship peak is located in the Pir Panjal Range in Himachal Pradesh and stands tall at 17,348 ft.
It is in the Beas Kund area and to reach here; one will have to pass through glaciers, rocky moraines, lush green valleys and forest.
At the summit, you will get a panoramic view of Pir Panjal range, Dhauldhar range, and the great Himalayan range. Some of the peaks like Hanuman Tibba, Shitidhar, Indra Asan and Deo Tibba are clearly visible from here. The best route to access this peak is through Dhundi and Beas Kund.
We started our journey from New Delhi to Manali by bus. We reached beautiful Manali next morning on 5th June 2019 and our Guide Mr Ravi was present there to receive us from Manali bus stand We drove to Solang Vally by car from Manali . After one night stay, next morning on 6Th June we started our trek to Dhundi from Solang. We stayed there at Dhundi which was a beautiful valley that was decorated with so many tiny colourful anonymous flower by nature itself. Next day, on 7Th June, we started ascending towards Lady Lake Base Camp through Bakarthach. The Base Camp actually was above the Lady Lake which was beautifully decorated by various species of Rhododendron .From Base Camp Manali peak , Ladakhi peak, Seven sisters are visible. Anyway, next 3 days we spent on the snow only, acclimatizing ourselves. On 9Th June at night we started for summit and next day on 10th June we summited the peak . It was a panoramic view of himalayan ranges that we got from the summit point . It seemed like an ocean of mountain peaks , an awesome view, a breathtaking horizon one can experience from the summit point.
Our guide Mr Ravi was accompanied by two more guide named Amit and Rajat. All of them were very helpful, guided us properly, taken care of our every need whenever it was required. They guided us how to wear the accessories like harness, snow boot, crampon, gaiters everything and more importantly how to walk on the snow with the help of these accessories, how to arrest ice axe while descending and many other things……which helped us a lot. It was a great experience of expedition. Trekkers must have prior experience of high altitude treks. The fitness level required for this expedition is quite high. The best months to do this trek are from May to June and September to October.

An excellent introduction to mountaineering, Friendship peak's popularity is well-reasoned:
1. Although at just about 5300 meters, it involves an ascent of almost 1300 meters on the summit day, mimicking a 6000m peak.
2. The availability of snow, ice and rock helps tests the student of mountaineering in all these domains.
3. Its proximity to the busy mountain town of Manali makes it accessible and reduces the number of days required.
Please be warned: Friendship Peak is not a trek and requires a basic knowledge of technical climbing on rock, snow and ice. However, prior experience in trekking is essential. Further it requires a good overall level of fitness.

Located at a hieght of 5289 meters above sea level in the Pir-Panjal range of Himalayas, Friendship Peak offers a spectacular panoramic view of the Kullu valley and Dhauladhar range with Beas Kund basin enhancing the beauty of the panorama. Facing several other peaks like Hanuman Tibba, Shettidhar, Indrasan and Deo Tibba, this is one Summit which actually doesn't require any prior training or mountaineering experience and can be completed with just very good fitness levels.
Risky, Rugged and Snow Blizzards prone Yunam peak in the Himalayas
Rugged and unpredictable weather makes Yunam peak a not so easy trek/expedition summit. However, the summit of Yunam has a great vantage point for an outstanding view of the Chandra bhaga Range and Mulkilla Range, and this is just one reason to scale the peak.Yunam Peak is a rare 6100 meters Himalayan trekkable peak on the same ranks of Stok Kangri that is catching attention of trekking and adventure enthusiasts for climbing and lay a serious groundwork for technical mountaineering pursuits. Popular among Lahaul and Spiti locale, the Yunam Peak is not entirely unknown to those who have travelled by the Leh-Manali highway, though it is not as frequently climbed as the Stok and other peaks of the same club.
Yunam is located that far side of Himachal where the mountains are terrifyingly rugged and sparse in greenery. The highest motorable road of the state ends in Baralacha La, only a few kilometres from Yunam base camp, where the pathways of Ladakh, Spiti, and Lahaul intersect. Crossing over from Manali to Keylong to Bharatpur- from where the trek actually begins, can be an adventure in itself as you are being transported from gentle undulations, green slopes, and apple orchards of Manali to the rugged and grey rocky mountain highs. The drive to this far end of the world is breathtaking in terms of changing topographies, the chills of starkly dropping temperature, and bizarre emerald lakes glistening in the middle of nowhere in a cold rocky desert matrix. The way up from Bharatpur onwards features snow patches, mixed scree and snow tracks, and sharp jagged walls of rock. Quite unusually, the stretch of this glaciated desert is not short of water points. On our way to the base camp and beyond, a number of streams will cut the path across and at the base camp we will have a small lake in the vicinity.
The going gets more and more exacting with the miles ahead on this expedition. Frostbitten wind come in squalls and hit hard, the pace has to be moderated to keep from slipping on scree, and most of all, the rapid gain in altitude can take a toll. The expected physical agitation, couples with unpredictable weather conditions at the higher reaches of the trek and has the potential of a deathly challenge. Climbers must put grit against grit and overcome this hurdle with strong will and determination.
