Frogmore House is a 17th-century English country house owned by the Crown Estate. The house is situated within the Frogmore Estate, which is itself located within the grounds of the Home Park, Windsor, Berkshire. Half a mile south of Windsor Castle, Frogmore was let to a number of tenants until the late 18th century, when it was used intermittently as a residence for several members of the royal family. The house is currently uninhabited, but it is used by the royal family to host both private and official events. It is a Grade I listed building.

The Royal Residence, Frogmore House, is situated within the grounds of Windsor Home Park, Berkshire. The estate has been a Royal Residence since 1792. Its gardens are picturesque, formed from glades, wooded area, bridges and an idyllic lake. What appears to be a ruined Gothic building infact contains both a Summer and tea house build in this manner for Queen Victoria. A beautiful Italian styled mausoleum is situated within the gardens, but was in renovation during the making of this video. Frogmore Estate contains many cottages, one of which is now the residence of Prince Harry and his family. The estate is only open on three Charity Open Days each year for visitors.

Windsor is a town on the River Thames in southeast England, just west of London. It’s home to Windsor Castle, a residence of the British Royal Family. Built by William The Conqueror in the 11th century, the castle was extensively remodelled by subsequent monarchs. Public tours take in the State Apartments, which contain opulent furnishings, and paintings from the royal art collection.
Windsor is a historic market town and unparished area in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead in Berkshire, England. Windsor is widely known as the site of Windsor Castle, one of the official residences of the British Royal Family.
Windsor is situated 23 miles (37 km) west of Charing Cross, London, 7 miles (11 km) south east of Maidenhead, and 21 miles (34 km) east of the county town of Reading. It is immediately south of the River Thames, which forms its boundary with its ancient twin town of Eton. The village of Old Windsor, just over 2 miles (3 km) to the south, predates what is now called Windsor by around 300 years; in the past Windsor was formally referred to as New Windsor to distinguish the two.
As a result of the castle, Windsor is a popular tourist destination and has facilities usually found in larger towns: two railway stations, a theatre and several substantial hotels. Various boat trips operate on the River Thames, with connections to Maidenhead and Staines-upon-Thames. In winter, Alexandra Gardens hosts a temporary ice rink. Near the town is Legoland Windsor, the only Legoland park in the United Kingdom and the largest Legoland park in the world in terms of area. Legoland Windsor was built on the site of the former Windsor Safari Park.
Windsor is accessible from Junction 6 of the M4 and from Slough via a 3 mile long dual carriageway. Windsor has two railway stations. Windsor & Eton Central railway station has a shuttle service to Slough. Windsor & Eton Riverside station provides a service to London Waterloo. Windsor is linked to the town of Eton (on the opposite bank of the River Thames) by Windsor Bridge.

A royal residence since the 11th century, Windsor remains a central part of British Monarchy, and tradition. The architecture, and collections within, are regarded as superb. (And we agree.) Much of the castle and grounds are open to visitors - who can see state rooms, gardens & parks, chapels, and remarkable collections of art and antiquities. The surrounding town is charming. We felt very welcome.

Frogmore House has been a residence of the royal family since George III purchased the property in 1792 as a gift for his wife, Queen Charlotte. Most recently, a separate house on the property known as Frogmore Cottage has been given to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as a present from the Queen
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who have favored the Frogmore grounds in the past for their engagement portraits and wedding reception, sought after the Grade II-listed house as a way to lead a less public life. As a royal residence with a much lower profile than Kensington Palace, Frogmore Cottage lies within the security of the Windsor estate, and years before Harry and Meghan ever considered moving, the private property served as an oasis for royals from Queen Victoria to King George VI to Queen Elizabeth. The early history of Windsor is unknown, although it was almost certainly settled some years before 1070 when William the Conqueror had a timber motte and bailey castle constructed. The focus of royal interest at that time was not the castle, however, but a small riverside settlement about 3 miles (5 km) downstream, possibly established from the 7th century. From about the 8th century, high status people started to visit the site occasionally, and possibly this included royalty. From the 11th century the site's link with king Edward the Confessor is documented, but again, information about his use of the place is scant. After the Norman conquest of England, royal use of the site increased, probably because it offered good access to woodlands and opportunities for hunting – a sport which also practised military skills.
Windsor Castle is noted in the Domesday Book under the entry for Clewer, the neighbouring manor to Windsor. Although this might seem strange, it occurred because plans for the castle had changed since 1070, and more land had been acquired in Clewer on which to site a castle town. This plan was not actioned until the early 12th century. Henry I – according to one chronicle – had rebuilt it, and this followed the Norman kings' actions at other royal sites, such as Westminster, where larger and more magnificent accommodation was thought necessary for the new dynasty. King Henry married his second wife at Windsor Castle in 1121, after the White Ship disaster.

Meghan and Harry 'may be forced to pay rent on Frogmore Cottage' after stepping down
Taxpayers paid £2.4 million to renovate Frogmore Cottage only nine months ago and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle hope to keep using it even after they 'step back from public life'
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have announced their intentions to move away from royal life in a statement yesterday and eventually become financially independent.
But the mention in the couple's statement of the Windsor home where they have been raising baby Archie has raised eyebrows.
Taxpayers paid £2.4 million to renovate the cottage, which the couple moved into just nine months ago - moving out of Kensington Palace which only fanned rumours of a rift with the Cambridges.
The couple are now facing calls to pay back the public cash spent on Frogmore as a Privy Counsellor and campaign group Republic criticise the Sussexes for saying they would step down as senior royals - but keep a claim on the property.
Their move has led to questions over just how much of British taxpayers' generosity they can expect - and for how much longer - if they no longer participate in royal duties.
Work on the property in the Berkshire property overran and it was reported that the couple made constant design changes, meaning the builders fell behind schedule.
the option of Apartment 1 in Kensington Palace was estimated to cost in excess of £4 million for mandated renovations including the removal of asbestos.
It would not have been available for them to occupy until the fourth quarter of 2020.
As a result, Her Majesty The Queen offered the Duke and Duchess the use of Frogmore Cottage, which was already undergoing mandated renovations, and would be available to move in before the birth of their son.
The refurbishment cost equated to 50% of the originally suggested property for their proposed official residence at Kensington Palace.
It is for these reasons, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex chose Frogmore Cottage as their official residence,
Crucially, the website points out that Frogmore Cottage is owned by the Queen, therefore it will be up to her whether they will be permitted to use it as their UK home going forward.
The News says: Frogmore Cottage will continue to be the property of Her Majesty the Queen.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will continue to use Frogmore Cottage - with the permission of Her Majesty The Queen - as their official residence as they continue to support the monarchy, and so that their family will always have a place to call home in the United Kingdom.
The Queen was said to have learned the latest bombshell news from watching the revelations unfold on television.
the couple's announcement, Buckingham Palace swiftly issued a statement saying there were still many details to be ironed out.
It remains to be confirmed whether the Queen has decided on the question of whether the couple can continue to use the home.
The couple's announcement is the latest blow for the 93-year-old Monarch, as the Sussexes open a new rift amid a painful chapter in the history of the 'The Firm'.
It is the royals' second public row in as many months after Prince Andrew's disastrous BBC interview about his friendship with paedophile billionaire Jeffrey Epstein led to him announcing he would step down from royal duties,
Their statement also outlined detailed plans for their next steps, including dividing their time between Britain and North America, while retaining their patronages.
But there are already hints their plan may be more wish-list than manifesto.
The Times reported this morning that talks with the Palace about the couple's future began over Christmas, but the palace made clear nothing had been agreed yet in its statement following the announcement.
