Welcome to the third episode of our TAIPEI TAIWAN series! Today we meet up with a local Taiwanese friend who will show us an undiscovered part of Taiwan: Fuji Fish Port. Lying at the most northern tip of the island, we check out what kind of seafood the locals have access to in this rural town and exciting fish market. This market was full of EXOTIC fish and seafood that we have never seen before in Taiwan including PUFFER FISH not the FUGU kind!
The market is split into two sections: the market and the cooking/restaurant area. The market has all the fresh catches you could DREAM of. It is clean and modern. Bring a friend who can speak Mandarin/Chinese or Taiwanese as you will need to negotiate the price and choose how you would like your seafood cooked. Once you choose your seafood, the vendors will take you to a restaurant to have your seafood cooked immediately! So fresh and so delicious. What an incredible market and seafood FEAST! Make sure to check it out on your trip to TAIWAN!
We also check out FUHONG BEEF NOODLE an institution in Taipei city. Beef noodle (soup) is considered the national dish of Taiwan, and there are some AMAZING variations across the entire country. We checked out a local spot that earned a spot on the 2018 Michelin Recommended Guide, and now we know why! It was so tasty and CHEAP! Not to mention, open 24/7!!!

大溪是桃園最早發展的地方，透過大漢溪小帆船行駛淡水河，與大陸貿易興盛，造就了許多商號與商賈。日治大正時代流行巴洛克建築風格，和平路、中山路等老街，各商號融合巴洛克式繁飾主義和閩南傳統裝飾圖案，包括希臘山頭、羅馬柱子和中式的魚、蝙蝠等祈求吉慶的圖案混合，形成一種大溪專有的特色。和平老街因為開發較晚，老屋的保存狀況也較好，街上特色商店林立，十分熱鬧。
大溪老街週邊有大溪橋、李騰芳古宅、寺廟古蹟、武德殿文化古蹟及大溪木藝生態博物館等知名景點，當然更要品嚐老街上傳統的台灣古早味小吃、體驗台灣童玩，尤其是大溪豆干、月光餅、花生糖、豆花、碗粿、湯圓等，都是不容錯過的台灣道地美食！絕對是來到桃園，感受道地台灣味必去的景點之一！

Daxi Old Street in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, The Heart of Asia
Daxi was the earliest developed area in Taoyuan. Thanks to small sailboats sailing between Dahan Creek and Tamsui River, Daxi had a thriving trade with China, and its prosperity brought success to many stores and businessmen. During the Japanese occupation period of the Taisho era, Baroque architecture was the popular building style and therefore many stores along Heping Road and Zhongshan Road were built in the Baroque style, but decorated with both Baroque ornamentation and characteristic totems of Min-nan in Southern China. Specialty shops and food stands on the street always attract many tourists.

台湾 桃園 大渓老街（大溪老街）
大溪は桃園で最も早く発展した地区です。大漢溪と淡水河を帆船が行き交い、中国大陸との貿易で、富を蓄える商家が生まれました。そのため、日本統治時代には大正時代に流行したバロック風建築が多く建てられ、それが和平路、中山路には今も残っています。商店の建物はバロック式装飾と閩南の伝統図案で飾られ、ギリシャ風ペディメント、ローマ風の柱、魚やコウモリ等の中華圏で吉祥とされる図案が混然一体となり、大溪ならでは特色を形作っています。和平路一帯は開発が遅れたおかげで古い建物がよく残っており、特色ある商店が林立しとてもにぎやかです。

따시라오제(大溪老街)
따시는 타오위엔에서 가장 먼저 발전한 곳으로, 작은 범선들이 따한시(대한강)를 따라 딴쉐이허(담수강)로 운행하여 중국대륙과의 활발한 무역을 통해 많은 상점과 상인들을 양성해냈습니다. 일제치하 대정시대에는 바로크 건축양식이 유행하여, 허핑로 중산로 등의 옛거리에는 상점들이 바로크식의 화려함과 민남전통의 장식을 섞어 사용했으며, 그리스 지붕과 로마식 기둥을 포함, 중국식의 물고기나 박쥐등 길(吉)과 복을 비는 도안을 혼합해서 사용하여 따시 고유의 특색을 형성하였습니다. 허핑라오제는 비교적 늦게 개발되었기에 고택의 보존상태가 비교적 양호하며 특색있는 상점들이 많아 매우 붐비는 곳입니다.
따시라오제 주변에는 따시챠오, 리텅팡(리등방) 고택, 사당 유적, 우더띠엔(무덕전) 문화유적 및 따시 목예생태 박물관등 저명한 관광지들이 있으며, 라오제내 전통적인 대만의 옛먹거리들도 꼭 맛보아야 하고, 대만의 아이들이 놀던 옛놀이들도 체험해 보시기 바랍니다. 특히 따시 또깐(말린 두부), 위에꽝빙(월광병), 화셩탕(땅콩사탕), 또화(달콤한 국물의 연두부), 와꿰이(찐 쌀떡), 탕위엔등은 절대 놓쳐선 안되는 대만현지의 미식입니다. 타오위엔에 오셔서 현지 대만의 맛을 느껴보려면 반드시 들려야 하는 장소 중 하나입니다.

石門水庫是台灣北部的重要水庫之一，也是賞花的好去處。冬季時節，放眼望去，楓葉一片金黃；梅花雪白花海，令人目不暇給。春天來臨之時，更有桃花、櫻花、杜鵑爭妍鬥豔。每逢雨季，大壩洩洪時，場面壯觀，總吸引許多遊客前來遊賞。石門水庫還設有石門大壩碼頭及阿姆坪碼頭，旅客可搭乘遊艇環湖， 在湖面上飽覽壯麗的水庫風光。

Shihmen Reservoir is reputed for its beautiful lake and mountain views all year round. Connected to over a dozen tourist attractions, the Reservoir offers green parks, bikeways, lake yachts, dam, spillway, wharf, Xizhou Park, Maple Park, Nanyuan Ecological Park, and so on.
Shihmen Reservoir is also a great place to admire the magnificent beauty of flowers and leaves. Fiery maple leaves and snow-white plum blossoms catch your eye in the wintertime. When spring comes, the peach, cherry and azalea bloom to compete for visitors’ attention with their captivating beauty. In the rainy season, Shihmen Dam will discharge its water, providing a spectacular view that attracts a great number of tourists.
