Sakamkam Fort Fujairah UAE..
Sakamkam Fort is a historic fort in Sakamkam, just north of Fujairah City, Emirate of Fujairah, United Arab Emirates.[1]
The fort, on a hilly position,[2] became ruined, but has now been restored.[3] It has a round watchtower, with views of the modern Fujairah City, where Fujairah Fort is located.[4]
Sakamkam Fort is close to the Fujairah Free Zone, to the east.

Fujairah Castle || United Arab Emirates || Fredtalks
This is my trip to Fujairah Castle in United Arab Emirates.
122 km Journey from Dubai. This place still stands strong, It was badly damaged by a British attack in the early 20th century. Considered the oldest fort in the United Arab Emirates, it has served previously as both a defensive building and a home for the ruling family. And for many centuries, it was the only stone building along the Fujairah coast. The fort has three major sections, several halls, one square tower, and two round towers. In recent years, it has been fully restored to its former glory.

Fujairah (Arabic: ٱلْفُجَيْرَة Al-Fuǧaira IPA: [al fud͡ʒajra]) is one of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates. The only of the seven with a coastline solely on the Gulf of Oman and none on the Persian Gulf, its capital is Fujairah City
Fujairah, dominated by the Sharqiyin tribe, sits at the mouth of the important trade route, the Wadi Ham (which is guarded by the Sharqiyin fort at Bithnah), through the mountains to the interior and the Persian Gulf Coast. Known as the Shamaliyah, the east coast of what is now the UAE was subject to Muscat until 1850, when it was annexed by Al Qasimi of Sharjah, in an agreement made between Sheikh Sultan bin Saqr Al Qasimi and the Sultan of Muscat.[2] The Shamaliyah was governed by Al-Qasimi Wali at Kalba although frequently seceded and in 1901 Sheikh Hamad bin Abdullah Al Sharqi, chief of the Sharqiyin, declared independence from Sharjah. This was recognised by a number of the Trucial Sheikhs and also by Muscat, but not the British, who were frequently provoked by the independently-minded ruler.[3] At this time, Fujairah consisted of some 150 houses and 3,000 date palms and its people lived mainly through pearling and date cultivation.[4] Since the absorption of Kalba by Sharjah in 1952, the Shamaliyah is shared by the emirates of Fujairah and Sharjah.[5]
In 1952, Fujairah entered into treaty relations with Britain, becoming the last of the emirates to join the Trucial States. Having withheld this recognition for over fifty years, the British government only granted it because the oil exploration company Petroleum Concessions Limited (PCL) needed to sign a concession with a recognised ruler.[6] On 2 December 1971, Fujairah joined the United Arab Emirates.
Archaeological finds in the emirate of Fujairah point to a history of human occupation and trading links stretching back at least 4,000 years, with Wadi Suq (2,000 to 1,300 BCE) burials located at Bithnah and the Qidfa' Oasis.[7] A third millennium BCE tower was used to construct the Portuguese fort at Bidiyah, identified with the Portuguese 'Libedia', a fortress recorded in de Resende's 1646 map - the fortress itself has been carbon dated to 1450-1670.[8]
Fujairah is also rich in late Islamic fortresses, as well as being home to the oldest mosque in use in the United Arab Emirates, Al Badiyah Mosque, which was built in 1446 of mud and bricks.[9][a] It is similar to other mosques found in Yemen, eastern Oman, and Qatar. Al Bidyah Mosque has four domes (unlike the other similar mosques which have between seven and twelve) and lacks a minaret

About Fujairah Fort.....................
Fujairah Fort is opens to public from 8AM to 5PM
The fort is made of rocks, mortar, mud and plaster, and is shored up by mangrove poles. Its roof is made of palm fronds and trunks. It covers an area of 610 square meters, and features circular watch towers, one each facing the sea, the town and the mountains - and one main, square-shaped tower, known as a Murabaa. Each tower reaches more than 2.5 meters above the top of the walls.
Like most other such buildings, Fujairah's fort was constructed around a well, though the well went dry a long time ago. The courtyard was used for special events, such as weddings or public executions.
There is a prison, where prisoners would be lowered into the ditch.
Next to the prison is another area with special channels carved into its floor, all flowing towards a hole, into which would run modabas, or date syrup. Sacks of dates would be piled up and left to ferment, and this would produce the juice.
The British navy destroyed one of the fort's towers in 1925 as it moved into the country and took up positions along the coast. The fort was abandoned after that, and remained in a state of neglect until 1997, when a national renovation programme began.

Fujairah - Forts
This is a 20 minute tour of Fujairah Fort, Masafi and Al Bithnah Forts as well as the Heritage village in the Eastern city of Fujairah. The video takes a look inside and around these forts and hopefully it encourages you to visit these places. Note: while going to Al Bithnah Fort the road is not clearly labelled. Still it is better to view these forts with either a rental or your car.
Historical Al Hayl Fort Fujairah In UAE Middle East - Unique Fort That You Must See.
The , fort al hayl fujairah is a limited construction. Not the grandeur I had been anticipating. However, the calmness of this place is gratifying in addition to the wadi (valley) around. You walk round the area and environment (appropriate shoes needed; be cautious of slipping ) to consume the gentle cool breeze.
Complete a nice & very, serene area tucked away in the hustle & bustle.
There is typically a caretaker to reveal about this fort. Best time to visit is when sunlight is low.
As city developing together with the remainder of the United Arab Emirates, Fujairah has stayed largely untouristed place , therefore choices for lodging aren't abundant nonetheless, it is likely to get by. Most resort options vary from the four- to five-star class, designed for travel business people with conveniences such as annexed clubs and other recreational pursuits. The budget-conscious tourist needs to expect a rather consistent language barrier in most affordable resorts, bed and breakfasts, and guesthouses in Fujairah, so make sure you package a phrasebook because of that you will find adequate choices within this variety with comfortable, clean rooms.
Stay blessed for a nice journey guys.

Al Hayl fort . ( Fujairah UAE)
Built around 1830, this small, well-preserved fortress is located deep in the depths of the Hajar Mountains, near the village of Al Hayl, about 13 km southwest of Fujairah. Built of brick and plaster, it is a good example of traditional architecture. It is probably the oldest fortress in the United Arab Emirates. . Although it does not have a very large size, its towers offer a magnificent view of the surrounding area

For many tourists and visitors, Fujairah is a laid-back relief after the bustle of Dubai. For Emirati locals, it's a favourite weekend escape. The beautiful coastline is ideal for scuba diving and sunbathing, while the city is a great base for explorations into the Hajar Mountains.
