Best Places to Visit Near Mount Fuji. Fuji Five Lakes Travel. Yamanashi Prefecture.
Travel to Mount Fuji Five Lakes,
Lake Kawaguchiko:- You get the best view of Mount Fuji from this lake, do visit this place if you would like to take a good photograph. This lake is the second largest of the Fuji Five Lakes in terms of surface area, and is located at the lowest elevation.
Lake Motosu:-
This is the place from where you can get the 1000 yen view shot, you can also get the splendid view of Mt. Fuji and the lake was printed on the former 5,000 yen bill, and presently on the 1,000 yen bill as an Upside-down Fuji. Its a prime and amazing place to go as a tourist, you can also enjoy kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing, and snorkeling. The Fuji Shibazakura Festival is held around this area from the middle of April to the end of May. Visiting the festival is strongly recommended.
Lake Tanuki:-
Diamond Mount Fuji View, Mount Fuji is reflected on the lake and this forms as a diamond shape whole together when you see it, its very beautiful. Also you can see the sunrise exactly at the top of the Mount Fuji, this phenomenon is called Diamond Head.
Narusawa Hyoketsu Ice Cave:-
This is a cave located at the eastern entrance to the “Aokigahara Jukai” (sea of trees) forest, and is one of the sightseeing spots within the Fuji Five Lakes area. In 864 A.D., when Mt. Nagao, a flank volcano of Mt. Fuji erupted, the red hot lava flow descended down between the ancient parasitic volcanoes creating this cave. The average temperature within the cave is as low as three degrees, and it is covered with ice year round. It was designated by the Ministry of Education as a Natural Monument in 1929.
Very easy to reach using the sightseeing buses. Maps and affordable bus passes are available at Kawaguchiko station. Discounted entrance fee if you've purchased a bus pass (instead of paying for each ride separately). Very easy and cheap to visit if you were already planning to visit Aokigahara, as it is literally on the edge of the forest.
Chureito Pagoda:-
Chureito Pagoda is a 10-minute walk from Shimoyoshida Station on the Fujikyuko Line (roughly two hours from Shinjuku if you're starting in Tokyo). It's a journey of 398 steps up to reach the top, but absolutely worth the extra exercise to see such an unobstructed view of Japan's most iconic peak. Why 398 steps? Because the goddess of Mount Fuji is Konohana Sakuya, and 3-9-8 can be read sa-ku-ya. The pagoda is especially beautiful during the cherry blossom season (usually mid-April in this part of the country), and a very popular photo spot all year round.
Technically called the Fujiyoshida Cenotaph Monument, the five-storied pagoda is found in Arakurayama Sengen Park (新倉山浅間公園・Arakurayama Sengen Koen), located above Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine (新倉富士浅間神社・Arakura Fuji Sengen Jinja). Not significantly old in itself, the pagoda was built as a peace memorial in 1958.
Oshino Hakkai:-
Oshino Hakkai (Springs of Mount Fuji) is a tourist destination at Oshino village. Hakkai literally means “eight seas” but its actually eight ponds! The plase are known for eight ponds over there which is Deguchi, Okama, Sokonashi, Choushi, Waku, Nigori, Kagami (literally means mirror pond), and Shoubu.
Oshino Hakkai consist of eight ponds and each ponds has its own special story.Breathe the fresh air of nature over here and enjoy many Japan traditional things. The building are not too modern, some of them still maintain the shape of traditional Japanese building. One of the tourist main attraction here is the water springs from Waku pond (8 meters depth). You can drink it freely to enjoy the pure water from spring. Even the water tab looks so badass with dragon ornaments!
MT. FUJI and the 5 LAKES | Fujikawaguchiko, Yamanashi
I requested Yamanashi Prefecture on my JET application so I wanted to come and see what it's actually like. First stop on my Yamanashi trip was Fuji Five Lakes.
I love mountains so seeing Fuji was one of those things I needed to do (I'll hopefully climb in my next trip to the area). I managed to see him just before the weather turned bad. I made it to all 5 lakes and even the ponds that used to be a 6th lake.
Despite the bad weather, I really enjoyed my time around Fuji Five Lakes and if I lived closer, I would take SO many trips here. It's a really nice area.
Much love and happy travels

Photographing Mt Fuji: Fuji Five Lakes Travel
My favourite part of my Japan travel was photographing Mount Fuji. I spent two days busing and walking around Fujigoko, the 4 of the 5 lakes of Fuji. Kawaguchiko, Saiko, Motosu, Shojiko and Yamanaka.
This video gives you a brief breakdown of travelling from Tokyo using the express bus system. You can take a direct bus from Shinjuku Terminal or Tokyo station. Well worth the trip.
Feel free to check out my photography and the many images I took of Mt Fuji. It'd be very appreciated. Thanks!

15 Things to Do Near Tokyo, Japan - Visiting Yamanashi, Shizuoka & Kanagawa Prefectures
Fuji Five Lakes: Cherry blossoms at Lake Kawaguchiko - Mt Fuji View!
What's a trip to Japan without Fujisan?
Getting a full view of shy mountain Mt. Fuji is very rare. You need perfect weather conditions. We traveled during rainy spring season and we only have 2 days to explore Yamanashi prefecture but we got lucky! We highly recommend Fuji-View Hotel, we booked this hotel last minute. They have a shuttle bus that takes you to and from the hotel. We love the location. It is by the Lake Kawaguchiko and the hotel is facing Mt. Fuji and the area is surrounded by cherry blossom trees. You can see Mt. Fuji from this hotel on clear skies.

Yamanashi Prefecture: The Fuji Five Lakes – Kawaguchiko Lake
Link to my blog:
Kawaguchiko is one of the Fuji Five Lakes, a region at the base of Mount Fuji, Japan. The Fuji Five Lakes are Yamanaka, Kawaguchi, Saiko, Shoji, and Motosu. The Kawaguchiko Lake is the easiest place to access among the Fuji Five Lakes as trains and buses connect it to Tokyo. We went there early in the morning to ensure that Mount Fuji is not covered with clouds.

Best Noodles in Mt Fuji!! Day 5: Tokyo to Mount Fuji and Private Japanese Onsen
Assalmu Alikom people! Greetings of peace,
Some of the top things to do in Mt Fuji Japan:
Onsen hot spring bath
Sunrise over mt fuji
Cable car ride
Eat Hoto Noodles
It is Day 5 already of our Japan Trip and our travel vlog in Japan continues. We had an amazing time in Tokyo but now we are heading to Mount Fuji! There are so many places where you can stay and have a great view of Mt Fuji, but we chose to stay at a cottage/lake house on the north side of Lake Kawaguchiko.
This is probably one of the best viewpoints of Mt Fuji especially during the sunrise where you can see a reflection of the mountain on the lake.
In order to get to Lake Kawaguchiko, we needed to take a bus from Tokyo Station (the main train station in Tokyo) that costed about $20 USD and took us through a scenic route from Tokyo to Kawaguchiko station (1.5 hour bus ride).
We stayed at Lake Villa Kawaguchiko
This was an amazing experience! We had an entire cottage for ourselves right on the lake and secluded from the busy area beside Kawaguchiko station. Jiro who is the owner was very accommodating and he treated us like his family!
The Lake Villa Kawaguchiko hotel has a private Onsen (hot spring bath) only for people who stay at the hotel which is an amazing feature of this hotel!
We are staying here for two days and we are going to explore the food and scenic nature trails around mt fuji!
For dinner, Hoto is a must try !
Hōtō 「ほうとう」 is a popular noodle hotpot dish (nabemono), which is local to Yamanashi Prefecture in Japan.
This dish is often served in an iron pot and its soup is traditionally a miso based broth with pumpkin and other seasonal vegetables added.

Mt. Fuji, Lake Kawaguchiko | Yamanashi | Japan |
Lake Kawaguchi is located in the border of the towns of Fujikawaguchiko and Minobu in southern Yamanashi Prefecture near Mount Fuji, Japan. It is the second largest of the Fuji Five Lakes in terms of surface area, and is located at the lowest elevation.
A hot spring resort town with various tourist attractions and views of Mount Fuji is located around the lake's eastern end, while the northern and western shores are mostly undeveloped.
The best views of Mount Fuji can be enjoyed from the lake's northern shores and are particularly breathtaking during the cherry blossom season around mid April and the autumn colors around the first half of November. One of the nicest spots for cherry blossoms is the seaside promenade near the Kawaguchiko Music Forest, while photographers will enjoy the Momiji Tunnel for autumn colors, a maple tree covered road section along the lake's northern shore.
Be warned that even though Kawaguchiko is located right at the base of Mount Fuji, the mountain is not always visible because of clouds. Visibility tends to be best in the early mornings (usually before 9am) and in the late afternoons, while clouds often obstruct the view during daytime even on days with fair weather, and especially so during the hazy summer months.
Among the wide range of other tourist attractions available around Lake Kawaguchiko are hot spring baths, various museums, the Fuji Q amusement park, boat tours and a ropeway leading onto a small mountain next to the lake. Kawaguchiko is also a good base for climbing Mount Fuji, although most people start their ascent from Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station halfway up the mountain these days.

Visiting Yamanashi home of the five lakes & Mt. Fuji
Hello everybody!
Today we wanted to give you a short tour introduction video on Yamanashi, the home of Mt Fuji and the Fuji Five Lakes, and the biggest and scariest attractions in Japan - FujiQ.
We had four hours to spend in the beautiful town and were able to get a few footages while there. We were able to go to one of Italian restaurants there, not known to many tourists, and had some great italian dishes. We also had a chance to visit a famous bakery near the great lakes.

YAMANASHI JAPAN: Mt. Fuji day tour | Lake Kawaguchi | 5th station
Driving by car to Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi. You can get a perfect landscape of Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchiko at Nagasaki Park and Oishi Park. Both are along the north shore of the lake. Mid April you can enjoy the full bloom of cherry blossom (sakura).
Yoshidaguchi 5th Station or Kawaguchiko 5th Station) lies at approximately the halfway point of the Yoshida Trail, which leads from Fujiyoshida Sengen Shrine at the mountain's base to the summit of Mount Fuji. It is the most popular of the four 5th stations on Mount Fuji. It is accessible almost year round, snow conditions permitting, and is a popular sightseeing spot even outside of the climbing season.
At Lake Kawaguchiko you can rent a pedal boat, speed boat and a ferry in which you can enjoy a cruise while viewing Mount Fuji and the wonderful scenery of the town.
