JAPAN - Kimono, Nara Deer Park, Matcha Experience, Todaiji Temple
Today Faith and I got dressed in our traditional dress of Kimono. We were dressed at a kimono shop in Gojo called 'Yumeyakata and my picture was also taken'. Afterwards we attended a 'Matcha Experience' at Jinmatsu- an just a few doors down. During this experience we did matcha grinding and made Japanese sweets that accompany the tea called 'Wa-Sanbon'. Then we made the long journey (a bit over two hours) from Gojo to Nara where we visited Nara deer park and Todaiji temple.

In today’s Japan vlog, we visited Kiyomizudera, one of Kyoto’s most iconic temples and RENTED KIMONOS from Okamoto Kimono! We were stopped SO MANY TIMES to be in other tourists’ photos, even literally being pulled into their pictures! It was a tonne of fun though - being dressed in full kimono certainly grabs attention ????
Then we visited the Hello Kitty Saryo cafe for a lunch with Hello Kitty herself, before shopping at a gorgeous Studio Ghibli store in the backstreets of Gion. Stay tuned to the end for my Kiyomizudera omiyage (souvenir) haul!

Walking Tour of the Hiroshima Peace Park IN A KIMONO!
I'm so happy I got the chance to make this video. Living in Hiroshima for the past 21 months has made this home for me. I love my city and I'll be very sad the day I have to move. The Peace Park is the heart of this city and it really a great place to visit. The best part is that they show the history and the pain caused by the event but the park is still a happy place to be. It's great in the spring as many people have hanami parties under the cherry blossoms.
I'm so lucky to have made such great friends in Hiroshima!
My friends at the Fujisei Yukata shop on Hondori (in the Sun Mall) gave me the chance to try out their new rental service! You can rent a kimono and get to explore Hiroshima or Miyajima!
It's really a great service and the shop and the staff know their craft well!
The shop is in the middle of the city, close to the Peace Park, Shukkei-en Gardens or the ferry to Miyajima!
The prices are listed below:
Trying it on (and receive a A5 size photo print) - 2500 yen
3 hours of exploring - 3800 yen
One day - 5000 yen
One day plus special offers and presents - 7000 yen
They are located on the first floor of the Sun Mall on Hondori (on the Peace Park side)
Even if you don't want to rent a kimono they are a great source for souvenirs in Hiroshima!

[TRAVEL] EP 2: Day 2 in Japan, Kyoto ???? (wearing a kimono, bamboo forest)
This was day 2 of my Japan trip, in Kyoto! The first thing we did in the morning was rent the kimonos and get dressed! So if you're thinking of renting a kimono I recommend you to go early, as soon as the rental shop opens to ensure that you can pick out a pretty kimono (before other customers take them hehe). We then walked around kiyomizu-dera temple and took some nice photos. Our last stop for the day was at the bamboo forest, then chilled around kyoto because their night life is the bomb!

Despite the rainy weather that day, we still thought Nikko was one of the most beautiful places you can visit for a day trip from Tokyo.

Kyoto was absolutely surreal! On our second chapter of Japan, we were so fortunate that our airbnb host gave us a local experience we would never have had on our own. We ate at the cutest mom and son takoyaki shop, I rented a kimono, and Stefan got drunk a few times.
