Koyasan Daimon, Koya-cho
Once you have walked through the Daimon Gate, Koyasan reveals itself.
It is hard to explain any place that has so much energy and millions of pilgrims have pile past these incredible gates each day.
The Daimon Two fierce-looking statues guard this monument, which is the main gate to the town.

My Gyokuzoin Temple Stay in Nara Japan!!
While travelling in Nara, I got to sleep in a Gyokuzoin Buddhist Temple in Nara for a night and it was one of the most memorable experiences of my trip in Japan.
This Japan vlog shows what a traditional temple stay is like, including where you sleep, the view from the room, what you eat (vegetarian food) and attending morning prayers at 5.15am and 6.15am.

Tanukidani Fudo-in
Tanukidani Fudo-in
Halfway up a rugged slope stands the mountain temple of Tanukidani Fudo-in. Since it was established in the 18th century, this temple has been famous as a home for shugen-do, a form of shamanism incorporating both Buddhist and Shinto ideas which is unique to the mountains of Japan. Visitors make their way up numerous stone steps to reach the main building before making their way along a mountain path through the surrounding woods, encountering numerous interesting shrines and buildings along their way. Austere though this mountain temple might seem at first glance, visitors will be charmed by the site’s countless statues of tanuki, or raccoon dogs, which serve as the mascot of the temple.
