On the island of Kyushu, south of the Japanese archipelago and 27 km far from Fukuoka, which is the capital of the island, we can find the home gallery of Fernando Coma. Located at 500 m. high and 300 m. far from the main road.
From the terrace we can enjoy a panoramic view of 300 degrees. The sunsets are spectacular throughout the year. Japanese culture has a special sensitivity to the artists. Therefore, although the place where was built the house gallery is a protected natural area, because the presence of a foreign artist caused interest, is granted permission to build on the land acquired by Fernando Coma.
The nearest village called Sangayama is 4 km away and with a approximate population of 100 inhabitants. On the top of the mountain, the tranquility is absolute. In the middle of nature, the atmosphere is ideal for creation. On the ground floor of the house, there are permanently exhibited about 50 works of different formats that are renewed periodically.
Fernando Coma is a creator searching for a personal style and building on his experience as a draftsman and technique with oils, watercolor and design, achieved with materials such as wax, paper and acrylic, volumes, shapes and colors that brings a new concept.
Using single-weight paper, fiber and adhesives, he achieved the effect of volume and texture. Various mixtures of the waxes results the highlights of the colors and different effect depending on the angle of light.

Travel with me to Fukuoka, Japan on this visual escape journal. Fukuoka is located in the southern part of Japan's main island and is known for its proximity to the sea and its flavourful ramen broth. But I came for the Sunshower exhibition at the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum. The Fukuoka Asian Art Museum (FAAM) is a renowned museum in Asia that I became familiar with through the residency of artist Don M. Salubayba and their acquisition of artworks by Brenda V. Fajardo. They were showcasing Filipino artists such as Carlos V. Francisco, Norberto Roldan, and Kiri Dalena as well as other Asian artists like Anish Kapoor and Po Po. This is the first time I'm sharing an extra long travel vlog so I'm really hoping you guys like it. I appreciate you.

Profile:
Aung Myat Htay was born In Mandalay, Myanmar (1973), currently based In
Yangon, Myanmar. Started the art education at Fine Art school in Mandalay and graduated BFA in University of Art and culture, Yangon. Without being confined by traditional means of expression, he explores the potential in the freedom of expression found In contemporary art. He expresses social
messages with work that combines a contemporary sense with traditional forms of painting
and sculpture. He is also known as a curator in Myanmar's art community since 1998 In
addition to his Involvement Within Myanmar, He has presented work in several regions of
asia including Thailand, India, Indonesia and the Philippines. In 2010 he participated In
Fukuoka Asian Art Museum's residency program. In 2011 he participated in Live Art 2011 in Banglore, India. Recently he participated at the Koganecho Bazaar International art festival at Yokohama,Japan.In 2013-2014, he got a 6 month grant from ACC (Asian Cultural council) for New York Residency program to research contemporary art practice, meet the artist & curator and create new work in USA.
