We found cherry blossoms at Fukuoka Castle!! Explore the Japanese castle ruins, Maizuru Park & Ohori Park in Fukuoka (Kyushu, Japan).

Maizuru Park is a park in Fukuoka with the ruins of the castle. It's a great spot for cherry blossom viewing in late March/early April. They often have special events; I spotted a Yayoi Kusama pumpkin for a temporary Art in the Castle event. Ohori Park is right next door - a large park with a lake and a fun walkway across the middle, with bridges and swan boats. A good place to go running, stroll around or just relax during your time in Fukuoka.

Visiting Ohori Park & Fukuoka Castle, Japan | TheRainQueen.com
We spent a romantic afternoon in Fukuoka. We enjoyed a very long walk from the station, feeding fish & turtles in Ohori Park, followed by a leisurely walk around the Fukuoka Castle ruins. This place is very special. My only regret is that we didn't get an opportunity to use the swan boats on the lake...the swan guy was not working that day. June 2015.

Exploring Fukuoka: Ohori Park and Team Lab Fukuoka Castle Ruins
3rd day in Fukuoka, Japan: we visited Ohori Park and Fukuoka Castle Ruins. We were lucky to catch the Team Lab Digitized Exhibit in the Fukuoka Castle Ruins.
The Team Lab Exhibit is on until February 2, 2020.
Entrance Ticket Prices:
Adult (on the day) 1,200 yen (around Php 600)
Child (on the day) 400 yen (Php 200)

On our last day, we visited the Ohori Park and Fukuka Castle Ruins before heading to the airport.
We really fell in love with this City. We will definitely come back and visit the other places in Fukuoka that we have never been to and taste the other delicious food that we have not yet tasted.

The night-time Maizuru Park and Fukuoka Castle Ruins that span about 20,000 square meters will be transformed into a digital art space of light!
Built over a period of seven years from 1601, Fukuoka Castle is the largest castle in Kyushu. Often referred to as the Stone Castle, its center such as Honmaru, Ninomaru and Sannomaru palaces were made up entirely of stone walls. Beautiful four layers of stone walls make this vast site a magnificent national historic treasure.
“Digitized Nature, Digitized City” is a part of teamLab’s art project. The concept of the project is that non-material digital art can turn nature and city into arts without destroying nature or changing functions of the city.
In the teamLab: Light Festival in Fukuoka Castle Ruins exhibition, the heart of Fukuoka Castle ruins with beautiful stone walls that span 20,000 square meters will be transformed into a digital art space of interactive light that changes according to the presence of people.
In this exhibition, a total of 7 including new 4 works will be exhibited, such as the black three-legged crow, Yatagarasu flying around the stone walls of the ruins of Fukuoka Castle Tower portrayed by lights; Crows are Chased and the Chasing Crows are Destined to be Chased as well in the Stone Wall – Fukuoka Castle Tower Ruins and “Sketch Kuroda Kanbei”, drawings of the founders of Fukuoka Domain who laid the foundation of Fukuoka.

Fukuoka Castle, which was completed in 1607.
I reside as a historic park in the center of Fukuoka city.
Huge stone wall is left, is a historic site the structure of the castle can be seen well.
Vestiges of the castle is said impregnable, remains strong even today.
福岡城は、１６０７年に黒田親子によって築かれました。
難攻不落といわれた堅城の面影を、巨大な石垣群が今に伝えています。
当時のままの縄張りで残る遺構の数々は、在りし日の福岡城の様子を良く残しています。

If you're planning to visit Fukuoka Castle and ruins then don't. Wala talagang castle, ruins lang siya. As per information upon entering the vicinity, wala silang narecover na any blueprints kaya hindi nila narecreate yung mismong castle and instead, ruins lang talaga yung makikita dito. For me hindi siya worth it pero if nasa Ohori Park na kayo, might as well give it a go and mag sight seeing nalang since may view din naman ng city na pwedeng makita dito.

Japan 2019 : Ep.1 - Fukuoka Castle
Hello I made it back alive after being in Japan for three weeks and am still suffering from post-holiday blues. Here's some footage of my fiance (pictured) and I (not pictured) walking around Fukuoka Castle during the first leg of our trip. An unforgettable way to begin our very first couple of days in this breathtakingly beautiful country (we also arrived in Japan on Schoey's birthday which made it extra special!). Unfortunately, I didn't record much else in Fukuoka but I do hope you enjoy this footage.
Next up, Hiroshima! I'm planning to have a more thorough re-cap of our time visiting the Peace Memorial Park and Museum as it had left a particularly profound impact.
