Fukushu-en Garden
Day trip to the Fukushu-en Garden located in the middle of Naha City. This garden was built in 1992 as a symbol of the friendship between Naha and this sister city Fuzhou, China. The architecture and materials are predominantly from China while the landscaping was done by Okinawa residence.

Fukushu-en Garden 福州園
Fukushu-en Garden, located in Naha, is a chinese style garden which was built in 1992 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the sister city affiliation between Naha and Fuzhou City in China, and the 70th anniversary of Naha's transition into the municipal system.
Everything in there is all Chinese, and you will sense that Okinawa's old culture was undoubtedly influenced by China long ago.

那覇にある福州園は中国様式の庭園で、1992年に中国の福州市との友好都市１０周年の記念として、また那覇市制70周年記念として立てられた。
この庭園全体が中国様式で、沖縄の古い文化が中国に影響を受けたということをはっきりと感じることができる。

7 hours in Naha (Okinawa) and I already found the most beautiful place (Fukushu-en Garden)
It's summer vacation time! I decided to fly from Sendai to Naha in Okinawa Prefecture. A prefecture that I wanted to visit for a long time. You can say that it's still Japan but quite different.
For the first day, I just had 7 hours in Naha, so I initially planned to stay in the main tourist area, eat some local food and just relax. Well, for some reason I walked more than expected and I found beautiful places (by total coincidence!) on the way. I learnt a good lesson on that day. Sometimes it is also okay to just walk around, without a plan, and maybe you can find some hidden gems like these.

- Yuunangii (ゆうなんぎい)
- Naminoue Beach
- Naminoue Shrine
- Fukushu-en Garden (福州園) - Go there during the evening for the illumination! It's so beautiful.

Fukushu-en is a chinese garden in Kume district at Naha which reproduce elements of Fuzhou city in China. It was buit in 1992 as commemorative of the 10th anniversary of friendship betwen both cities.
Fukushu-en es un jardin chino en el distrito de Kume en Naha que reproduce elementos de la ciudad de Fuzhou en China. Fue construido en 1992 para celebrar el 10º aniversario de la amistad entre las dos ciudades.

David Ralston & Merry Megumi Gushi performed an intimate concert at the garden temple. It was dusk on a cold winter’s night but the hot clam chowder and the smooth tunes kept the crowd warmed up. Song: Aha Bushi/ Preachin Blues
These beautiful Chinese gardens were opened in 1992 to commemorate ten years of friendship with Naha's sister city in China, Fuzhou.
