BoardFree UK | Longboarding John O'Groats to Lands End: Part 7, Aviemore to Dalwhinnie
Follow Dave Cornthwaite on the first ever attempt to skate the length of Britain. His 896 mile journey between John O'Groats was a warm-up to a Guinness World Record-breaking skate across Australia, but the UK leg was far from easy. Check out for the full story of Dave's amazing BoardFree skate journeys and if you enjoy it and have a couple of pennies, we'd be really grateful for any donation to the Lowe Syndrome Trust.
Packrafting Adventures, North West Highlands | June 2018, On the Adventure Trials Scotland
Packrafting Adventures in the North West Highlands. Flanked by An Teallach and Beinn Dearg Mor, Loch na Sealga provided a superb gateway from the estate track that runs from Gruinard Bay, along the river and then to the Loch. The outstanding wilderness scenery was a special moment we had both been hoping for. Weather was hot which ultimately altered our plan A. This wasn’t to spoil our adventure, in actual fact it made it more enjoyable! As always, plan A was possibly slightly over ambitious which involved a summit camp on Sail Leith, this wasn’t to be, for now!

UK Packraft Gathering 2018
Attending Andy's UK packraft gathering at Lagganlia just outside Aviemore in Scotland. Not much water unfortunately, but enough for the WW Fundamentals course on the Feshie Saturday and a wee paddle down the Spey on Sunday. See backcountry.scot for the UK retailer of packraft and bikepacking kit.
Thanks to Andy for organising, Jess and Mike for the tuition, and to the rest of the attendees for the entertainment! Unfortunately, I failed to turn my camera on for when we ran the rapids we had previously been swimming in!

Road Trip: Scottish Highlands in Winter Snow (7 Days in Scotland)
Road Trip in the Scottish Highlands during Winter Snow in Scotland full itinerary here We arrived in mid-January during yellow and amber weather warnings when the mountains are blanketed in extremely thick snow. Our road trip through the Scottish Highlands begins with the crossing from Belfast to Cairnryan with Stenaline ( when we continue on to Loch Lomond. The snow filled road trip then begins the next day as we continue to Glen Coe through the Scottish Highlands, and from there we cross east to west with a night in Pitlochry passing Loch Tay. Then it is north to the Cairngorms and Aviemore, famous for its ski resorts, and pine forests. Onwards we travel to Loch Ness, in passing, as we continue to the Isle of Skye and the far north east corners of Scotland. Catching amazing winter and snow filled scenery along the way. From the Isle of Skye we then return to the Glen Coe area, staying at Fort William beneath the Nevis Range, Scotland's tallest mountain. Then from Fort William we exit the highlands with a night near Saint Andrews and not far from Dundee.
