Iceland adventure: a unique tour of Iceland - fun and unforgettable
In February 2016 we put on our thermals and headed off to the land of ice, it embraced us in its cold arms and we found a country with the warmest people, hearty food and incredible sights!
In just 7 days we managed to pack in a lot, it's so easy to book tours (the country is set up for tourists and they do it very well) there are many good restaurants, the northern lights of course, and loads of cold and invigorating fresh air.
Although we spent a lot of time in coaches visiting waterfalls, beaches, glaciers, volcanoes and lakes, it didn't feel long or tiring, you just had to look out of the window and marvel at the unbelievable scenery that passed by.
You must bring a camera and if you can and a tripod to capture what's on offer. If you're lucky enough to see the northern lights (we managed to see them twice!) to photograph them you'll need a tripod and a lot of patience, remember at night it's COLD so wrap up and bring hand warmers!! And please find out how to work your camera before you get there, it's hard in the dark to fiddle around with settings.
So when you arrive getting from the airport to the city is so easy, we look a bus, get yourself to the tour office have a look at the various packages and book a few as they fill up quite quickly.
Banks in Iceland only exchange certain currencies so if you have Hong Kong Kong Dollars forget it, we managed to pay for everything on credit card but take my advice and change more Icelandic Krona than you need, eating out is expensive, as are the tours.
We decided not to stay at a hotel but went for Airbnb and picked an excellent apartment that was just 5 minutes walk from the city centre,
Would definitely stay there again!
In winter months remember to bring lots of warm layers, we changed the number of layers we wore according to the tour we were taking. A hat and gloves are essential, as are a good pair of shoes that you can hike in. I also brought along thermals that I used on many days.
If you're considering a trip to Iceland I say just go for it, we had an incredible trip and lots of wonderful memories. I would like to go back in the summer months so I can see the change in landscape.
Hope you enjoy our video! If you have anymore questions do let me know and I'll do my best to get back to you...

A Fast Tour of Fun Reykjavik, Iceland
Are you up for a little Puffin dinner? Fermented Shark? Whale steak? Neither am I...not that there's anything wrong with them... Buckets of rain or no, Reykjavik is a fun town.
Walk down Laugarvegur Street and cross from side-to-side to browse stores, restaurants, delicious bakeries and old houses. TIP: Do not visit Iceland without rain gear and umbrella! If properly dressed for Iceland's very changeable weather, you'll have a great time...
