The Bancroft Library at UC Berkeley has acquired the archive of Ansel Adams’ first African American student, David Johnson. Johnson is now 91, and he is the first African American photographer whose archive is represented at Bancroft. Johnson sat down for an interview in 2017 with Jack von Euw, pictorial curator at The Bancroft Library.
