Bribie Island National Park.
Bribie Island is 34km long and 8km wide, The island is host to numerous lagoons, 55.8km2 national park, various camping areas & a lot of native wildlife, Eagles, Kangaroos, Wallabies, Lace monitors & much much more.
Bribie Island also has a rich history, its original name being Yarun, meaning hunting ground in the native Djindubari language. Bribie island was later named, Bribe, after a convict and the first European to live on Bribie island.
The WWII Forts of Fort Bribie are a must-see, these Forts were built in the early 1940s as part of the Brisbane line to help defend Brisbane against possible Japanese invasion.

Humpback Whale's Moreton Bay
Humpback whales migrate up to 10,000 km every year from the arctic waters up past the Australian coast land, into warmer sub tropical waters to give birth & mate, before heading back south to the arctic.
Humpback whales feed on krill during the summer months, while in the arctic, Humpback whales can feed on up to a staggering 1.5 ton of krill per day! krill are a small animal similar to a shrimp/prawn.
Infant Humpback whales travel with their mothers on this journey growing up to 100 pounds, (45kg) per day! it will take an infant humpback whale around 10 years to fully mature. Humpback whales can dive up to 210 meters and hold there breath for a maximum of 45 minutes.
During the 1960s the humpback whale was nearly hunted to extinction, it is believed that there where as little as 100 single humpback whale left before hunting stopped, since that time humpback whales have slowly been on the rise again with thousands of whales now roaming our oceans.
