It came down to either me or him - Spokane WA
A jealous ex-boyfriend broke into the Newman Lake home of his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend early Sunday morning and was shot and killed by the homeowner.
Spokane County Sheriff deputies say a Honeymoon Bay homeowner was acting in self defense when he shot the armed intruder, identified late Monday afternoon by the Spokane County Medical Examiner as 43-year-old Sean M. Parsons.
Parsons had been served a no-contact several hours prior to the shooting, but that didn't stop him from taking a shotgun and a pistol to Doug Snarski's Honeymoon Bay home to confront his ex-girlfriend and Snarski.

Tour the Historic Davenport Hotel - Highlights - Spokane, WA
During our visit to Spokane, Washington we stayed at The Historic Davenport Hotel. This is a brief walkthrough of the hotel, including the gorgeous Lobby, Mezzanine, and Hall of the Doges.
'The Davenport Hotel is a hotel located in Spokane, Washington. Commissioned by a group of Spokane businessmen, the hotel is named after Louis Davenport, its first proprietor and overseer of the project. Architect Kirtland Cutter designed the building in 1914. The Davenport Hotel was the first hotel in the United States with air conditioning, a central vacuum system, pipe organ, and dividing doors in the ballrooms. It is also the place at which the first Crab Louis (named after Louis Davenport) was created and served. The hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Davenport Hotel was completely restored by developer Walt Worthy in 2002 and operates today under the name The Historic Davenport Hotel within The Davenport Hotel Collection brand along with its three sister hotels.' -Wikipedia

Manito Park in Spokane had a Zoo???

Manito Park and Botanical Gardens is a 90-acre (0.36 km2) public park with arboretum, botanical gardens, and conservatory, located at 17th Ave and Grand Blvd in Spokane, Washington, USA. It is open daily without charge.
The park was originally a public recreation area called Montrose Park.[1] In 1903 its name was changed to Manito, said to mean Spirit of Nature in the Algonquian language. A park commission was formed in 1907 with annual funding, and in 1913 the famed Olmsted Brothers firm completed their landscaping plans for Spokane parks, including Manito Park. The Park was at one time a zoo until 1932 when the zoo closed down because of the lack of funding during the Great Depression. Today some remnants of the zoo can still be seen, such as an iron bar sticking out of a rock that was once part of the bear cages. For more info, visit this link:

Classical Duncan Gardens, Manito Park - Spokane, Washington
This video is a condensed version of the video I posted on 12-31-2010.
This fantastic three acre formal European classical renaissance style garden with a large granite fountain was designed and built in 1913. The arrangement of the flower beds, and also the plants make the Duncan Garden symmetrical and is a must see when you visit Spokane, Washington. The park is open daily to the public without charge.
