About Ganji & Modhurtila Sherpur

Gajni Parjatan Center is 220 km far from Dhaka. Where one can find the natural beauty of hills, lakes, forest & lots of birds here, it is a natural tourist spot where one can see the tribal life of our tribes. Even,one can see the wild elephants in the forest. It is in Jhinaigati upazila under Sherpur district. The biggest attraction for tourists at a place 15 km north of town situated in the middle of the forest at the foot of Garo hills bordering India. A lake has been created by building a dam in the stream of a fountain, its charm and beauty makes the place mesmerizing and an ideal place for travel and picnic. Beside above, there are other spots of attraction in the hill range too. A two storied rest house at the top of the hill built by Parjatan Corp. for rest and recreation. 'Gajni area' being at the very end of Bangladesh border no one is allowed to stay here after 5:00 pm. There is a watchtower 60 ft high from where the scenic beauty of hills and mountain range of Meghalay (India) can be seen. There is also a 150 meter long tunnel down the hills and its dragon face entrance makes one feel like entering into the dragon’s stomach for real. To visit this magnificent natural park one has to go by road from Sherepur. Sherpur to Gajni is just 45 min ride by bus or taxi. To enter Gajni area, an entry fee of Tk.150 is charged at the Jhenaigati town. The next stoppage will be at a BGB check post for registration of name/names where the border guard officials will give guidelines how far deep one may travel and the places which are out of bounds.

গজনী অবকাশ কেন্দ্র শেরপুর জেলার ঝিনাইগাতী উপজেলার ঐতিহ্যবাহী গারো পাহাড়ের পাদদেশে অবস্থিত। প্রকৃতিপ্রেমিদের মনে গজনী অবকাশ কেন্দ্রের সারি সারি গজারী, শাল ও সেগুন গাছের সারি প্রশান্তি এনে দেয়। শীতকালে গারো পাহাড়ের সৌন্দর্য্য অবলোকন করতে ভ্রমণ পিয়াসী মানুষ এখানে ছুটে আসেন । পাহাড়ী ঝর্ণা, লেক, টিলা, ছড়ার স্বচ্ছ জল ও ঘন সবুজ বন এখানকার পরিবেশকে দিয়েছে বিশেষ বৈশিষ্ট্য।

গজনী অবকাশ কেন্দ্রে পাহাড়ী ঝর্ণার গতিপথে বাধ দিয়ে কৃত্রিম লেক তৈরি করা হয়েছে। লেকের মাঝে সৃষ্টি করা হয়েছে কৃত্রিম পাহাড় ও লেক ভিউ পেন্টাগন, যা একটি দোদ্দুল্যমান ব্রীজ দিয়ে সংযুক্ত আছে। গারো পাহাড়ের চূড়ায় ৬ কক্ষ বিশিষ্ট একটি আধুনিক রেষ্ট হাউজ রয়েছে। রেষ্ট হাউজ থেকে পাহাড়ের পাদদেশে যাবার জন্য রয়েছে পদ্মাসিঁড়ি নামক একটি আঁকাবাঁকা সিঁড়িপথ। গজনী অবকাশ কেন্দ্রে রয়েছে পর্যাপ্ত কার পার্কিংয়ের ব্যবস্থা ও খেলার মাঠ। পিকনিক করার জন্য এখানে রয়েছে বিশুদ্ধ পানির নলকূপ, পর্যাপ্ত স্যানিটেশন এবং রান্নার আয়োজন।

As Indian Garo slopes are not far from Sherpur, you can see them obviously by exposed eyes from Gajni 60 ft high watch tower. There are two lakes in the recreation center with hanging and foot spans. 150 meter burrow named as the 'Patal Puri' with a mythical beast like passage leads you its stomach! You will locate some not too bad statues of wild lives and a water mermaid. A little zoo with some wild creatures will give you some additional joy. A two put away rest house has been made for tired visitors.

Green mountains, crystal clear lakes of the resorts was a time when 'SHERPUR' that everyone wanted to know, what Sherpur? Sherpur of which zilla, Mymensingh, Bogra or Sylhet? But the dilemma is clear a lot of space. Sherpur known resorts in Gajni has increased.

It was established in 1993 by the then Deputy Commissioner Sherpur. 30 kilometers away from the Sherpur city, at the foot of the Garo hills Jhenaigati border. As well as the main tourist attractions in the northern Mymensingh and it has developed.
Gajni picnic spot or a picnic in the area known as the British era. Imposing an old banyan tree in the hills east of Gajni splendid approximately 200 foot high mountain is a place to build a three floor resorts bhaban. The big race of the ancient banyan tree is ripe. Talk to the shade of a huge banyan tree over the weekend.
