Leaving on July 7th, 2018 I began my first trip abroad! Studying for 4 weeks with 5th week of visiting Saint-Petersburg then a few free days in Moscow before leaving on Aug. 11th, 2018. Met lots of people, learned many things, had fun, and will have these memories forever! Also still not sure why my camera never recorded in 1080p...apologies for any low-quality shots in this. Better than nothing. Also didn't realize just how much I recorded up and down with my phone, so better planning next time!

Description: Dubovskoy, NICHOLAS Nikanorovich (1859-1918), Russian painter, master of the picturesque landscape, the transition from Romanticism to Symbolism.
Born in Novocherkassk 5 (17) in December 1859 in a family of Cossack sergeant of the Don Host. Initially, he studied at the military school, then at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts (1877-1881) at M.K.Klodta. Not once traveled to Western Europe and the Middle East. He was a member of the Association of the Wanderers (1886), since 1899 was a member of its board. He lived mainly in St Petersburg.
He made a name for himself landscapes where traditional romantic approach to nature (based on the composition of the landscape in the studio) was transformed into a visionary transparency of borders between reality and full-scale kind of waking dream. In this regard, his paintings close AIKuindzhi works, although the latter was much more emphatic WSS reforms aesthetic view. It is this - essentially symbolist - unreality provide innovation Dubovskoy art, in general, quite far from the traditional and the trendy kakih-to, including impressionistic, effects. Among his typical works - Winter (1884, Tretyakov Gallery), quieted (1890, Russian Museum, repetition - in the Tretyakov Gallery), on the Volga (1892, Tretyakov Gallery), November evening (1900, ibid), sledding (1900, ibid). Often turned to winter grounds, I loved the deceased, calm state of nature, sometimes giving them a national-romantic tone (Homeland, about 1903-1905, the Museum of Fine Arts, Omsk).
Fruitfully he worked as a teacher: from 1911 he was a professor-head of landscape workshop of the Academy of Arts.
Dubovskoy Died in Petrograd February 28, 1918.

Hello All,
Finally, I conquered STOLBY mountains. I never hiked 16 km before this and yes it requires lot of endurance. It was tough but at the end the scenic view that you get from the top of the hill is breath - taking and you feel so close to nature. I am sure you will enjoy the video. I must tell you there are certain things which you should take care before you enter STOLBY natural reserve. I have tried to make you aware of all that you will experience here. Do comment on this video and let me know your views...

Russia is a sovereign country in Eurasia. At 17,125,200 square kilometres (6,612,100 sq mi), Russia is the largest country in the world by area, covering more than one-eighth of the Earth's inhabited land area, and the ninth most populous, with over 144 million people at the end of December 2017 (excluding Crimea). About 77% of the population live in the western, European part of the country. Russia's capital Moscow is one of the largest cities in the world; other major urban centers include Saint Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg and Nizhny Novgorod.
Extending across the entirety of Northern Asia and much of Eastern Europe, Russia spans eleven time zones and incorporates a wide range of environments and landforms. From northwest to southeast, Russia shares land borders with Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland (both with Kaliningrad Oblast), Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia and North Korea. It shares maritime borders with Japan by the Sea of Okhotsk and the U.S. state of Alaska across the Bering Strait.
The East Slavs emerged as a recognizable group in Europe between the 3rd and 8th centuries AD. Founded and ruled by a Varangian warrior elite and their descendants, the medieval state of Rus arose in the 9th century. In 988 it adopted Orthodox Christianity from the Byzantine Empire, beginning the synthesis of Byzantine and Slavic cultures that defined Russian culture for the next millennium. Rus' ultimately disintegrated into a number of smaller states. The Grand Duchy of Moscow gradually reunified the surrounding Russian principalities, achieved independence from the Golden Horde. By the 18th century, the nation had greatly expanded through conquest, annexation, and exploration to become the Russian Empire, which was the third largest empire in history, stretching from Poland on the west to Alaska on the east.
Following the Russian Revolution, the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic became the largest and leading constituent of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, the world's first constitutionally socialist state. The Soviet Union played a decisive role in the Allied victory in World War II, and emerged as a recognized superpower and rival to the United States during the Cold War. The Soviet era saw some of the most significant technological achievements of the 20th century, including the world's first human-made satellite and the launching of the first humans in space. By the end of 1990, the Soviet Union had the world's second largest economy, largest standing military in the world and the largest stockpile of weapons of mass destruction. Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, twelve independent republics emerged from the USSR: Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the Baltic states regained independence: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania; the Russian SFSR reconstituted itself as the Russian Federation and is recognized as the continuing legal personality and a successor of the Soviet Union. It is governed as a federal semi-presidential republic.
The Russian economy ranks as the twelfth largest by nominal GDP and sixth largest by purchasing power parity in 2015. Russia's extensive mineral and energy resources are the largest such reserves in the world, making it one of the leading producers of oil and natural gas globally. The country is one of the five recognized nuclear weapons states and possesses the largest stockpile of weapons of mass destruction. Russia is a great power as well as a regional power and has been characterised as a potential superpower. It is a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, as well as a member of the G20, the Council of Europe, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), and the World Trade Organization (WTO), as well as being the leading member of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and one of the five members of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), along with Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

It is the administrative center of Novosibirsk Oblast as well as of the Siberian Federal District. Concerto duo Mistral (violin & piano) - DEMO
Concerto duo Mistral was formed in 2004 by violinist Victoria Isabekyan and pianist Viacheslav Ovchinnikov, both Ural State Conservatoire graduates.
Throughout their careers the talented performers have given a huge number of concerts in Russia and abroad.
In 2006 Slava toured the USA as a member of The Kat Trio. Victoria performed with the orchestra BACH and toured Spain with the Omsk Symphonic Orchestra.
During the next year the musicians worked in South Korea. There the duo often made many special performances at prestigious banquets, various celebrations, presentations and receptions, captivating audiences with their musical mastery and broad repertoire. One such event was a reception for George Bush, Sr. and his wife.
Slava takes active part in many professional pianist competitions.
In Pervouralsk, Slava's hometown, they are welcomed guests at various cultural events such as art gallery openings, Memorial Day activities, the Mayor's Ball, music school anniversaries, chamber music evenings and festivals.
These young musicians eagerly take part in all types of interesting projects.
For many years it has been a tradition for the duo to give charity performances for veterans in the Rehabilitation Center of the Provincial Hospital. And every time for scores of enthusiastic listeners their live music is a sensation. Their program consists of masterpieces from different ages and styles.
The duo places high emphasis on the music education of preschoolers- their rhythm receptivity, development of artistic flair, harmony, etc. They teach little ones to understand music. The method of Radinova serves as a basis for these programs. They have performed the series Open your musical case in almost all the children's institutions of Pervouralsk, Revda and also Yekaterinburg.
In autumns the duo gives concerts in the Places of Culture drawing hundreds of admirers. Performances are held together with the invited soloists, and background video. In 2009 Concerto Duo Mistral was presented with an appreciation award by the mayor of Pervouralsk and the Head of Cultural Administrations on behalf of all citizens.
The community expressed its sincere thankfulness for duo's important creative contribution to culture development in the homeland.
