Bernadette's brush captures some distinct ethnic aspects of Goan life and culture and related colourful events, which are gradually seen being overcome by rapid urbanisation. The sociologist leaves behind for the forthcoming generations some vignettes of the life in Goa, and her brush strokes do it superbly. The paintings (not for sale) are a result of her research.

A video installation by Manjunaath Naik at Gallery Gitanjali, Goa .
Manjunaath intersperses his video with images of his work which reek of raw energy .He explores and explodes his muse of love to shreds and puts into a kaleidoscope for his viewers.
The video installation was originally screened onto a newspaper screen outdoors as part of a happening .
Created by Manjunaath Naik and Osborne Carvalho and conceptualised and curated by Miriam Koshy- Sukhija, Kodel, Kutre ani Kinetic integrates sculpture, video, street art and performance into a searing multimedia happening.
What is a Happening? It is an art form in which an action is extracted from the environment, replacing the traditional art object with a performative gesture born out of everyday life. It operates by creating an asymmetrical network of surprises without consummation following the logic of dreams. It walks the tightrope between drama and visual art inviting a strong participative response.
The aim of the integration of the art object with spectator participation is to elicit a response from them and to ensure that the engagement continues beyond the art space.
The scene for this happening involves four elements:
• 'Kodel' made by Manjunaath Naik and played to a subversion of '4-33' a music piece by avant garde composer John Cage,
• 'Wag the Dog' created by Osborne Carvalho with the bones of Vice & Virtue,
• A video installation juxtaposed between street art created by them and
• An art performance involving a beat up old Kinetic, all in a little bylane of Fontainhas leading to Gallery Gitanjali, Panjim Pousada .

BY LOKA DEVADAS FROM FREE ACADEMY
AT KALA AKADEMI Time 18.30. at Black Box Theatre PANJIM Goa India..
THUS SPOKE LORD SHIVA (from Loka Devadas feb. 2011.) SATSANG THEATRE By Loka Devadas from Free Academy (friakademi.se ) All people know the name of Shiva few know what Shiva spoke...this will be clarified. In the beginning of time, Lord Shiva gave 112 Sutras Called: The Vighyan Bhairav Tantra. The text is a love talk between Lord Shiva and his wife Devi...and they are all about Meditation. The 112 Sutras are about HOW to meditate. Lord Shiva simply gives 112 techniques how to meditate in all different situations of life. And in this Shiva is the destroyer of ignorance...and your own experience with the different techniques will cut through illusions of mind dreams, destroying all ignorance When I met with OSHO in Bombay 1973 he was giving 80 talks on these sutras...explaining them. How and when to use them in a practical way. The talks are called : THE BOOK OF SECRETS and you can copy the text from friakademi.se. Over the years I have experimented and practiced them for short moments repeated many times and surely they have saved my days and life innumerable times to the benefit for me and to the benefit of all. Some 20 of the techniques we have translated to Swedish, selling them on CD. And more than 200 different mixes was made on the material (English and Swedish)...to make the treasure of these sutras available to lovers of life. Now these mixes are all to be found on the homepage of friakademi.se for free download. Also as an introduction I have given a SATSANG-THEATRE SHOW to demonstrate practically how the techniques can be used. These shows are available for you to listen to and see as film on friakademi.se and also on Youtube and Facebook as Loka Devadas I explain this in detail. These Sutras: Vighyan Bhairav Tantra belongs to the World Heritage of Wisdom books as the oldest book known in the world only on meditation techniques. ( more than 5000 years old ) Please experiment with it..make your own techniques..enjoy no technique also. May it all intuitively lead you home to your Natural State of Basic Awareness & Clarity. Love /Loka Devadas.....

In today's episode of Crime Patrol, watch the investigation of a case from Delhi. Mayank often overhears a crying girl from his neighbour's house. Once, he intimates the police about the possible assault of the little girl. The police find out that Vinay and his wife have enslaved a poor girl in their house. Want to know more? Then stay tuned in and find out here.
Crime Patrol coming back in its 4th season attempts to bring stories of crime happening all around the country. Crimes that tell us, we need to be careful, we need to be watchful. Crimes that tell us lives could have been saved.Every crime we hear of, either warns us to be careful or scares us, it could happen to us. Every crime ignites a feeling, “It should not have happened”.Would knowing the “Why” behind a crime, help in stopping a crime from happening?“I don’t like the way he looks at me”, “I don’t like the way he/she is behaving”, “I think he/she is out of his/her mind”, “I think he/she has gone crazy”. That gaze, that quirky smile, that persistent stare which unnerves. It is difficult to understand the intentions but the hints are there. In a house a husband and wife argue, fight. A vessel comes flying, a glass breaks. Husband is angry and the wife is upset. That hatred, that ego. The distance that keeps growing. It is difficult to comprehend the damage, but the cracks are there.Feelings… expressions. Misunderstood, unresolved callings of the heart. The cracks are there. Too wide to be missed. Yet when the heart takes over the mind, the outcome is a mindless tragedy.Crime Patrol- Dastak will attempt to look at the signs, the signals that are always there before these mindless crimes are committed. Instincts/Feelings/Signals that so often tell us that not everything is normal. May be, that signal/feeling/instinct is just not enough to believe it could result in a crime. Unfortunately after the crime is committed, those same signals come haunting.

The Sacred Feminine Project at The Cajueiro Art Residency
The Sacred Feminine: The Goddess and other Archetypes
31st March 2018 to 30 April 2018
Curated By Miriam Koshy-Sukhija
The feminine is the matrix of creation. In nearly every ancient spiritual tradition, it is the Goddess who gives birth to the world and what pervaded was a divine balance of the masculine and feminine, of yin and yang. As time went by, this ancient wisdom was mindlessly displaced, a lower vibrational energy became widespread and patriarchy loomed large, trampling out the divine feminine and with it the delicate underlying balance and harmony.
The wounds of this conflict are reflected in the individual and collective disconnect we experience from the very source of all Life. At this juncture in the history of humankind, where conflict and violence are tearing us apart and ecological devastation threatens continued Life on this planet, the need of the hour is to remove the blinders of patriarchy and reclaim the Sacred Feminine both for our individual spirituality and for the well-being of the planet.
The Sacred Feminine Residency and the works of art that have been made thereof are an attempt to hold space for this ancient wound and to usher in a healing of this chasm by reclaiming The Sacred Feminine. In order to invoke and reclaim the feminine’s deep understanding of the wholeness and interconnectedness of all of life, we must then hold space for the ancient feminine figure of the World Soul, the Anima Mundi, the spiritual presence within creation as well as all the other embodiments of the Goddess and other feminine archetypes which exist in our collective unconscious.
Honouring the Sacred Feminine in the spiritual sense, means valuing the feminine principle, along with the masculine principle, as equal and fundamental aspects of the Divine. This exhibition then, is a call to look at this divine balance, to let it breathe, to let it flow, to reconnect with it and heal the imbalance and the strife so that we do not pass on to our children the spiritual and physical wasteland that we have created for ourselves.
These works were created at an Art Residency held at The Cajueiro Homestead from March 25 -30, 2017.
The curatorial trajectory for the Residency was to explore, re-interpret, draw parallels and re-invoke the Sacred Feminine by focusing on the Goddess and Other Archetypes across Cultures. The Art Residency was an initiative of Gallery Gitanjali to promote and support Art and to create a platform for artists from Goa as well as the rest of country to work together to share thoughts and ideas on their practice and journey as artists.
The artists invited to be a part of this Residency were Aadhi Vishal, Apurva Kulkarni, Francis Desousa, Praveen Naik, Rajendra Usapkar, Rajeshree Thakker, Sanatan Saha, Sara Khalifi, Siddharth Gosavi, Sonia Rodrigues Sabharwal, Swapnesh Vaigankar, Vasudev Shetye, Veenita Chendvankar, Viraj Vasant Naik, Yolanda de Sousa, Pushpanjali Sharma, Godot Laifungbam, Priyal Woodpecker; each of whom have focused on the Feminine in their Art Practice.
The works of art made by the artists in response to this curatorial focus have been displayed at the gallery along with Priyal Woodpecker’s response to them in verse, Godot Laifungbam's murals invoking the Greek Goddesses were made in situ at The Cajueiro Homestead and have been documented for viewing.
