The Netherlands from above - E7/10 - Why do we live where we live?
This series shows The Netherlands from a spectacular perspective. Through data visualizations, impressive aerial images and portraits of people on the ground, we show who we are and how time changes and has changed the country.
Over the past 100 years the population of Netherlands has increased by around 10 million. In order to provide accommodation for everyone, we have built millions of houses. We now live in centuries-old canal houses, in new housing estates, or on the water in house boats.

Question to the fans: I have now posted a number of rides on CVH in a dashboard view style. There are positive and negative responses. What do you think: should I continue posting these semi-POVs on CVH or are they POV enough to publish on my channel Train Driver's POV?
Finding out if the contrast in-outside is acceptable in an ICM with sun in the back. I think it is ugly, the dashboard has to be enhanced way too much. Hoping to find out when and how to be able to take HQ pov like videos. Enjoy!
Kijken hoe het eruit ziet als de zon schijnt met de cam op het dashboard gericht, maar het contrast is te groot, het dashboard moet teveel versterkt worden waardoor de beeldkwaliteit te laag is. We stoeien verder. Veel kijkplezier!

DONATE? - Dear followers! I find it incredibly fun and exciting awaiting your reactions every day! I always try to respond at least with a like. Maintaining a channel and making new films continuously takes a lot of time, and also money. To be able to produce hours of 4K material every day, a standard computer simply does not suffice. I do not get any compensation in money from the Dutch Railways, nor compensation in time. A very moderate compensation for the hours of free time that I spend daily is the advertising revenue from Youtube. But although YT really spams my movies with advertisement, the conclusion is that I would be better off doing one hour of overtime every week at the Dutch Railways. I did already know that it is possible to set up a possibility to donate easily via Paypal, but I have always withheld this because I did not want to give the impression that I have set up this channel for the money. But when I got a personal message from regular viewer Wolly9102 that he wanted to make a donation, I have decided to offer everyone the opportunity to make a donation, entirely voluntarily. This is possible with a single amount, but also with an automatic, monthly contribution. In my next uploads you will see a Paypal link that you can click on and thus contribute to the continuation of this channel. But, donation or not, I'm just as happy with all of you as followers! Amongst the channels with much nicer cab rides like Switzerland and Norway, we are not doing bad here. Are we? Thanks!

Water, Wind, and Waves: Marine Paintings from the Dutch Golden Age
Alexandra Libby, assistant curator, northern baroque paintings, National Gallery of Art. The Dutch rose to greatness from the riches of the sea. From their massive cargo- and warships to their small vessels and fishing boats, they commanded the high seas and inland and coastal waterways, becoming leaders in maritime travel, transport, and commerce. Yet, the water was also a source of pleasure and enjoyment. In the warm summer months dune-covered beaches offered scenic vistas, while in the winter frozen canals offered a place for people of all ages to skate, play, and enjoy the outdoors. In this lecture held at the National Gallery of Art on July 1, 2018, Alexandra Libby discusses the essential, multifaceted relationship the Dutch maintained with the water, as seen in the exhibition Water, Wind, and Waves: Marine Paintings from the Dutch Golden.

In and Out of Storage
Who wouldn’t want to take a peek behind the scenes of the Mauritshuis?
This video is part of our exhibition In and Out of Storage. The exhibition, presenting twenty-five paintings from our storage, intends to answer frequently asked questions including: what kinds of paintings are kept in storage, how did they end up there and why aren’t they hanging in the galleries? Highlights, as well as some low points, will be on show.
From 4 February until 8 May 2016.

Juliana of the Netherlands
Juliana (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌjyliˈjaːna], Juliana Louise Emma Marie Wilhelmina; 30 April 1909 – 20 March 2004) was Queen of the Kingdom of the Netherlands between 1948 and 1980. She was the only child of Queen Wilhelmina and Prince Henry. She was married to German aristocrat Prince Bernhard of Lippe-Biesterfeld, with whom she had four children: Princess Beatrix (born 1938), Princess Irene (born 1939), Princess Margriet (born 1943), and Princess Christina (born 1947). During the Second World War she lived in exile with her children in Ottawa, Canada. She became Queen of the Netherlands with her mother's abdication in 1948 and was succeeded by Queen Beatrix after her own abdication in 1980. During her reign both Indonesia (Dutch East Indies) (proclaimed in 1945, recognized in 1949) and Suriname in 1975 became independent from the Netherlands. Her birthday was celebrated annually as Koninginnedag (Queen's Day) until the accession of her grandson King Willem-Alexander to the throne, when it was replaced with Koningsdag (King's Day). Upon her death at the age of 94, she was the longest-lived former ruling monarch in the world. She is commemorated in space, in the name of the asteroid 816 Juliana.

MEXICO CITY - Mexican Air Force pilots filmed 11 unidentified flying objects in the skies over southern Campeche state, a Defense Department spokesman confirmed Tuesday.
A videotape made widely available to the news media on Tuesday shows the bright objects, some sharp points of light and others like large headlights, moving rapidly in what appears to be a late-evening sky.
The lights were filmed on March 5 by pilots using infrared equipment. They appeared to be flying at an altitude of about 3,500 meters (11,480 feet), and allegedly surrounded the Air Force jet as it conducted routine anti-drug trafficking vigilance in Campeche. Only three of the objects showed up on the plane's radar.
'Was I afraid? Yes. A little afraid because we were facing something that had never happened before,' said radar operator Lt. German Marin in a taped interview made public Tuesday.
'I couldn't say what it was ... but I think they're completely real,' added Lt. Mario Adrian Vazquez, the infrared equipment operator. Vazquez insisted that there was no way to alter the recorded images.
The plane's captain, Maj. Magdaleno Castanon, said the military jets chased the lights 'and I believe they could feel we were pursuing them.'
When the jets stopped following the objects, they disappeared, he said.
A Defense Department spokesman confirmed Tuesday that the videotape was filmed by members of the Mexican Air Force. The spokesman declined to comment further and spoke on customary condition of anonymity.
The video was first aired on national television Monday night then again at a news conference Tuesday by Jaime Maussan, a Mexican investigator who has dedicated the past 10 years to studying UFOs.
'This is historic news,' Maussan told reporters. 'Hundreds of videos (of UFOs) exist, but none had the backing of the armed forces of any country. ... The armed forces don't perpetuate frauds.'
Maussan said Secretary of Defense Gen. Ricardo Vega Garcia gave him the video on April 22. --
