The Water City | Gujo Hachiman 名水の町・郡上八幡
Gujo Hachiman, also known as the Water City! It's just about in the middle of Gifu Prefecture, and I highly, highly recommend visiting!! It's a mountain city with rivers running through the middle. There are koi fish everywhere, you can jump into the water, and the are tons of old-fashioned stores with awesome things to look at. I absolutely loved it!

Tokyo's Secret Island Paradise | AOGASHIMA ★ ONLY in JAPAN
Jurassic Park may be the first thing that comes to mind when you see Aogashima Island from the air - but yes, THIS IS TOKYO!
It's famous for having a volcano inside a volcano surrounded by dense jungle. It's also considered the smallest town in Japan and the hardest place in Japan to get to. There is no direct transportation to Aogashima. These facts are what make Aogashima the best kept secret in Tokyo!
★ The Ogasawara video is out!
Travel 1000km further for Tokyo's distant island paradise!
The island is unspoiled.
The pristine jungles and beautiful ocean views are like scenes from the movies.
HOW TO GET TO AOGASHIMA
Air
▶︎ Haneda Airport (Tokyo) to Hachijojima / 50 minutes
▶︎ Helicopter to Aogashima - 20 minutes / 11,530 Yen
Note: You have to take the first flight to catch the helicopter or spend the night. Only 1 helicopter flight per day.
Sea (Ferry)
▶︎ Takeshiba Pier (Tokyo) to Hachijojima 11-12 hours / Tokai Kisen Line /
▶︎ Hachijojima to Aogashima / 3 hours / Izu Shoto Kaihatsu Line
Note: The ferry to Aogashima is often canceled so don't rely on this if you need to be back to Tokyo for a flight etc. It can be delayed for as long as 1 week depending on weather!
WHY IS THIS THE HARDEST PLACE TO GET TO?
The town is located 200 meters up off the sea. There is no airport and this island is only accessible by helicopter and ferry. The port is one of the most challenging to dock at in the world so when the sea is rough or the wind is too strong, ferries are often canceled. Visitors may be stranded here for a week or more if the weather turns bad.
MUST SEE PLACES on AOGASHIMA
★ Ao-Chu Shochu distillery
★ Aogashima heliport
★ The volcanic island steamer (for lunch)
★ The island sauna
★ Oyamatenbo Park (Observation Area) for the view over the crater and the sky at night
★ Aogashima Port
★ Maruyama & Shrine
FOOD TO TRY
★ Torinabe (Chicken Soup Pot)
★ Ashitaba (an island leaf / herb that's used in cooking)
★ Island fish in season
Note: you can ask your inn about trying these at scheduled meals
THINGS TO NOTE ABOUT VISITING AOGASHIMA
1) You must have a reservation to stay somewhere before arriving. Lodging is limited. Call ahead, even for camping.
2) There is an ATM at the post office but come with cash just in case
3) Helicopters are often sold out a month in advance. Ferry tickets are easy to get but your departure date may not be convenient.
4) Walking is possible everywhere but many tourists rent a car. Other tourists may pick you up if you hitchhike. It takes 80 minutes to walk from the heliport to Aogashima pier.

Special thank you to Akira-san, Yoshino-san, Kyoko-san and Moemi-san and all the kind residents of Aogashima who made me feel a part of the island family!
I stayed on the island from July 23 to July 30.

Bassai Dai - Shotokan Karate
The most popular image associated with kata is that of a karate practitioner performing a series of punches and kicks in the air. The kata are executed as a specified series of approximately 20 to 70 moves, generally with stepping and turning, while attempting to maintain perfect form. There are perhaps 100 kata across the various forms of karate, each with many minor variations. The number of moves in a kata may be referred to in the name of the kata, eg. Gojushiho, which means 54 steps. The number of moves may also have links with Buddhist spirituality. The number 108 is significant in Buddhism, and kata with 54, 36, or 27 moves (divisors of 108) are common. The practitioner is generally counselled to visualize the enemy attacks, and his or her responses, as actually occurring, and karateka are often told to read a kata, to explain the imagined events.
In teaching the open handed kata, most styles of Karate start with a series of three, or sometimes two, very simple kata called blocking forms before advancing to five basic kata named Pinan in some systems and Heian in others. By working through this series (in order: Shodan, Nidan, Sandan, Yondan, Godan (except in Wado Ryu Karate, where Shodan and Nidan are reversed)) the practitioner learns all the basic stances and techniques before moving on to more advanced kata. Traditionally, kata are taught in stages. Previously learned kata are returned to in order to show more advanced techniques or ways of doing things, as beginners do not have the same knowledge and experience that practitioners further up the ranks have. It is not uncommon in some styles for students testing for Shodan (first rank black belt) to have to repeat every kata they have learned from the first belt, but at a black belt level, for example, with better technique, power, amongst others. This system is often used for the lower grades as well. The student will perform one new kata and one or two previous ones, to demonstrate how much they have progressed and how quickly they can learn new things.

FUSHIMI INARI shrine (伏見稲荷大社) ⛩⛩⛩⛩ y KIYOMIZUDERA (Kyoto) | #13 Vlog JAPÓN

Keikyu N1000 Series (Siemens GTO-VVVF) - Ningyocho to Nihombashi (Toei Asakusa Line) 京急新1000形
Trainset 1017 belongs to Batch 1 of the Keikyu N1000 Series (京急新1000形), manufactured by Kawasaki Heavy Industries in 2002. More famously, it received Siemens GTO-VVVF traction control system. Later batches of the N1000 series were fitted with IGBT-VVVF traction control system from other suppliers.
This traction control system is famously known for producing the solfège when it initially accelerates, and is a later version to the ones used on Siemens C651 in Singapore. Nicknamed the singing train, it was similar to its 2100 series counterparts before the latter had its original Powered by Siemens equipment replaced.
Through-train services from other railway operators operate on all Toei lines except the Ōedo Line. This allows travelers outside of the Tokyo Metropolitan area to travel directly into the city, although fare for each railway section is calculated separately. This recording features one of such rolling stock owned by these companies.
