Snow blanketed parts of southeastern Australia, Saturday, August 10, as a cold front swept through, creating a winter wonderland.
Residents in the New South Wales town of Orange - located about 250 kilometers west of Sydney - rollicked in the whiteout, with snowfights and snowmen becoming the order of the day.
The Bureau of Meteorology warned the weather conditions were likely to continue through the weekend. (Reuters)

Edmond Thommen 'blended nudes' works @ 3+1 Photo exhibition 8 May 2016
Edmond Thommen describes himself first, and foremost, as a Photographic Artist. For him the magic starts with the camera and his photographs.
The female figure forms the basis of his artworks. They may soften or highlight the body’s outline by blending it into several layers of images he superimposes on the figure. Sometimes the figure seems to disappear behind a barrage of organic materials or man-made structures - until the viewer’s eyes start to actively search for the lines that in his or her mind “must be there” behind the scene.
His work is “layered” and is visually and intellectually demanding on the viewer to find the form.
In doing so, viewers delve beyond the surface. Indeed, Edmond’s photographic artworks encourage us to look;
and, if we look properly, ‘to see.’

Timelapse painting of Le Tour de France bike art
I paint one scene from each stage in the tour. I've been doing this since 2011: seven years!! Visit my web site to see the finished collection. Most are sold on ebay, but quite a few are still available.
I love to paint quick impressions of Le Tour de France. Not this quick, of course. This is a timelapse recording. A typical La Tour painting takes 3 or 4 hours, with lots of fiddling towards the end.
SHIRLEY PETERS
I am a landscape artist. I live in Mulgoa, near Sydney, Australia.
I paint en plein-air in the country, using our motorhome to travel from beach to river to mountains (with husband Bob, and Honey the 9 month cavoodle).
At home I make 'slow art' in my studio by painting large detailed works inspired by my travels.
About July each year I paint a daily watercolour impressions of the Tour de France bike races.
Since 2014 I have lived and worked from my studio in Mulgoa, prior to that, 37 years in Putney, near Sydney.
I am represented by Gallery ONE88, Katoomba
