He Biked His Sculpture Through Yellowknife's Midnight Sun
Have you ever just wanted to get on a bike and ride far away? That's what landscape architect Robert Cram did on his way to The Banff Centre. He biked from Yellowknife to Banff, carrying his art piece, A Combination of Common Causes. Each time he stopped, he set it up and documented its deterioration in the different landscapes he encountered along the way. The result is haunting and beautiful.
Robert Cram was a participant in the Visual + Digital Arts residency Blueprint for Happiness in 2015.

Stephen Harper Visits Yellowknife - #CPC #YZF #nwt #cdnpoli #elxn41 #Votemob #PMHarper
Stephen Harper visited Yellowknife NWT landing on April17th 2011. The only folks apparently there to meet him at the airport were bus drivers, RCMP officers and a few other people I did not recognize. But at an unpublicized meeting at the Great Slave helicopter hanger behind the Yellowknife Airport fence he met with a number of pre-screened guests. See also to watch what happened when a group of protesters in Yellowknife tried to voice their opinions to Mr Harper on the morning he left town.

Real Time Video of Aurora Borealis Corona (April 19, 2017)
Be sure to watch this in HD.
This is real-time video (not a time lapse) of an overhead aurora corona. This will likely be the last great aurora display of the 2016-2017 aurora season for us in interior Alaska. We are quickly losing darkness and gaining daylight right now. It will soon become impossible to see the aurora as we approach the summer solstice. I shot a couple hours of video altogether this morning. I'll be sorting through it and posting more soon.
Be sure to subscribe to our channel for more videos of the aurora.

Up North - Conversations on the Impacts of Change - Feature Length HD
In the summer of 2007, Drew McIntosh, Robert Lutener and Aaron Bocanegra set out on a journey across the north into the Arctic Circle,
in exploration of the impact change has on the landscape and people's lives.
Their 8500 KM (5282 mile) adventure began in Edmonton, Alberta, four hours south of the largest proposed industrial project in
history, the Athabasca Oilsands. Traveling through Alberta, British Columbia, Alaska, The Yukon, and the Northwest Territories they
arrived in Inuvik, at the end of the 750 KM (466 Mile) gravel Dempster Highway, 200 KM (124 miles) north of the Arctic Circle.
Through conversations with First Nations Chiefs, Elders, comedians, artists, dancers and mountaineers, Up North takes you on a journey
of discovery and inquiry devling into a mulitilayered look at forms of change including economic, environmental, cultural, social,
political, dromological and linguistic. Set against the stunning beauty of North America's last wilderness, it accesses an alternate
history of Canada's north, told through the wisdom of experience and the reflection of our culture in the landscape.
The project was and has continued to be entirely self-funded without any grant support or government support. We are not affiliated
with any outside interest. The goal was to allow the landscape and the people to been seen and heard in their own voices. In addition
to putting our money and time into the project we were helped a great deal by the donation of both the van and the trailer as well as
camping supplies by friends and family. Without the support of those who believed in the project we would not have been able to
accomplish as much as we did.
A journey of this magnitude tends to change a person, and we all felt different and better for it.
