She played the fiddle in an Irish band
But she fell in love with an English man
Kissed her on the neck and then I took her by the hand
Said baby I just want to dance
I met her on Grafton street right outside of the bar
She shared a cigarette with me while her brother played the guitar
She asked me what does it mean the Gaelic ink on your arm?
Said it was one of my friend’s songs do you want to drink on?
She took Jamie as a chaser, Jack for the fun
She got Arthur on the table, with Johnny riding as shot gun
Chatted some more, one more drink at the bar
Then put Van on the jukebox, got up to dance, you know
She played the fiddle in an Irish band
But she fell in love with an English man
Kissed her on the neck and then I took her by the hand
Said baby I just want to dance
With my pretty little Galway Girl
You’re my pretty little Galway Girl
You know she beat me at darts and then she beat me at pool
And then she kissed me like there was nobody else in the room
As last orders were called, was when she stood on the stool
After dancing the céilí, singing to trad tunes
I never heard Carrickfergus ever sung so sweet
Acapella in the bar using her feet for a beat
Oh I could have that voice playing on repeat for a week
And in this packed out room, swear she was singing to me
She played the fiddle in an Irish band
But she fell in love with an English man
Kissed her on the neck and then I took her by the hand
Said baby I just want to dance
My pretty little Galway girl
My my my my my my my Galway girl
My my my my my my my Galway girl
My my my my my my my Galway girl
Now we’ve outstayed our welcome and it’s closing time
I was holding her hand, her hand was holding mine
Our coats both smell of smoke, whisky and wine
As we fill up our lungs with the cold air of the night
I walked her home then she took me inside
Finish some Doritos and another bottle of wine
I swear I’m going to put you in a song that I write
About a Galway girl and a perfect night
She played the fiddle in an Irish band
But she fell in love with an English man
Kissed her on the neck and then I took her by the hand
Said baby I just want to dance
My pretty little Galway girl
My my my my my my my Galway girl
My my my my my my my Galway girl
My my my my my my my Galway girl

Galway, Ireland is one of the world's friendliest cities and a wonderful place to visit. Irish music in the pubs starts at 19:06

Galway, Ireland (Featuring Roving Galway Boy by Tom Donovan and LIve Pub Music)
Galway was the last stop on our two week Ireland trip. It's on the western side of Ireland and aside from having many restaurants, pubs, and the 400 year-old Spanish Arch, it also features beautiful Galway Bay. The video starts with a beautiful song called Roving Galway Boy sung by Tom Donovan, and ends with a live performance at Taafees, one of Galway's many pubs.

Walking Tours of Galway - Claddagh Thatched Cottage, Galway, Ireland.
The first thatched cottage built in the Claddagh village, Galway in nearly a hundred years. Katies Cottage, part of the Claddagh Craft Village, will open to the public in April 2016. Built and roofed in the same way the Claddagh fishermen used to do in the 18th and 19th centuries, using local materials Rye, Wheat and Hazel and Ash, this cottage will become a magnet for tourism in Galway. When giving 'Walking Tours of Galway' I love to bring visitors to see the Claddagh, as well as the Spanish Arch, the Latin Quarter, Lynch's Castle, St. Nicholas Collegiate Church, Galway Cathedral, Salthill, the Corrib river, the Salmon Weir, Eyre Square, and Woodquay. I visit great pubs, especially O'Connors Pub in Salthill, O'Connells Bar in Eyre Square, Garavans, the Quays, The Dail, Sonny Molloys, Tigh Coili, Tigh Foxes, Taffes, the Crane, and Monroes. Galway is a beautiful city to visit anytime of the year and it is the gateway to Connemara and the Aran Islands. Be sure to look me up, Brian Nolan, Galway Walks, Walking Tours of Galway, Fireside Tours, Ghost Tours, Literary Tours, Folklore, Genealogy and tracing your roots. Our ancestors have lived in Ireland, and around Galway Bay for thousands of years, let me show you where and how they lived. Book a tour today. Galway - Ireland 2012
Video clips taken around Galway. With its numerous pubs, restaurants, shops, and street performers Galway has a unique charm.
Eyre Square, downtown Galway's central park contains the John F. Kennedy Park — established in memory of JFK who visited in 1963, a few months before he was assassinated.
'Gal' is an old Irish word for foreigner, making Galway the town of foreigners. It was just a medieval fishing until the 1200s, when the English came. These foreigners threw out the Irish and built a wall to fortify their town. The dispossessed Irish — now outside the wall — called the town Galway...town of foreigners.

The Best of West Ireland: Dingle, Galway, and the Aran Islands
Rick Steves' Europe Travel Guide | Deepest Ireland is best experienced on its Gaelic-speaking west coast, where the rugged villages have changed little over the generations. After exploring the remote Aran Islands, we visit Galway, chase a friendly dolphin, and delve into the scenic Dingle Peninsula. Ringing with music from its rustic pubs and dotted with prehistoric forts, this region is something special. If you're to fall in love with Ireland, chances are it'll be right here. © 2002 Rick Steves' Europe
