Temple History.
Ganapati Temple is regarded as the most beautiful temple in south Maharashtra. It is situated on the banks of river Krishna at Sangli.
Thorle (elder) Chintamanrao Patwardhan consecrated the idol in 1843.
The temple has been artistically built with black stone brought from Jyotibha hills. There is a platform, a hall and a 'Nagarkhana' inside the vast two acres complex of the temple. The entrance door has been carved out of different coloured natural wood.
The idol of the Lord Ganapati is made of copper. The idol has been kept in a way that it is visible from any part of Ganapati Peth. It looks so beautiful when the silvery rays of evening sun brighten the face of the Ganapati idol.
Ganapati festival is celebrated with great religious fervour for five days from Bhadrapad Shuddha Chaturthi.

सांगलीचे प्रसिद्ध गणपती पंचायतन मंदिर :
सांगली हे शहर पश्चिम महाराष्ट्रात मधील एक जिल्याचे ठिकाण असून ते कृष्णा नदीच्या काठावर वसलेले आहे. अशा या सांगली शहरामध्ये आहे हे - प्रसिद्ध गणपती मंदिर.
हिंदवी स्वराज्याचे जाहगिरदार आणि सांगली संस्थानचे पहिले अधिपती - श्रीमंत चिंतामणराव आप्पासाहेब पटवर्धन यांनी १८१४ मध्ये गणेश मंदिराची उभारणी केली. त्याकाळी या गणेश मंदिराचे बांधकाम तीस वर्षे सुरू होत - असे म्हणतात.
मुख्य मंदिर काळ्या पाषाणातील असून पेशवेकालीन वास्तुकलेचा उत्कृष्ट नमुना म्हणून याकडे पाहिले जाते. मंदिर आणि मंदिराचा परिसर खूपच सुंदर आहे.
मंदिरात संगमरवरातील रिद्धी-सिद्धीसह असलेल्या गणेशाची मूर्ती सुबक आहे.
मुख्य मंदिराभोवती चिंतामणेश्वर हे महादेवाचे, चिंतामणेश्वरी हे देवीचे, सूर्यनारायण आणि लक्ष्मीनारायण अशी चार मंदिरे आहेत. या चार व एक मुख्य मंदिर असे गणपती पंचायतन म्हणून ओळखले जाते.
दरवर्षी भाद्रपद महिन्यात पाच दिवस गणेशोत्सव येथे साजरा केला जातो. काही वर्षांपूर्वी विसर्जन मिरवणुकीत अग्रभागी बबलू हत्ती असायचा. मी लहान असताना यायचो इथे - बबलू हत्ती हे एक मोठं आकर्षण असायचं - आज विसर्जन मिरवणुक दिमाखात निघत असली तरी बबलू हत्ती ची उणीव जाणवतेच.

गणपती मंदिर, तासगाव :
तासगावचे तत्कालीन संस्थानिक व मराठा साम्राज्याचे तत्कालीन सेनापती श्रीमंत परशुरामभाऊ पटवर्धन हे गणेशभक्त होते. त्यांनी इ. स. १७७१ ते १७७९ या नऊ वर्षाच्या काळात तासगाव येथे सुंदर असे गणेश मंदिर बांधले. सन १७७९ मधे फाल्गून शुद्ध चतूर्थी या शुभदिनी उजव्या सोंडेच्या सिद्धिविनायकाची प्रतिष्ठापना केली. त्या वेळेपासून तासगाव येथील श्री गणपती पंचायतन संस्थानचा गणपती केवळ दीड दिवसांचा असतो.
संपूर्ण महाराष्ट्रात उजव्या सोंडेचा गणपती म्हणून तासगावचा गणपती प्रसिध्द आहे.
तासगावच्या गणपती मंदीराची रचना ऐतिहासिक आणि अतिशय भव्य दिव्य आहे. मंदिराच्या प्रवेशद्वारावर नगारखाना आहे. मोठे प्रशस्त पटांगण आहे. समोर प्रवेशद्वार आणि देवस्थानची कचेरी आहे. शेजारी रथगृह आहे. प्रवेशद्वारावर 7 मजली (96 फूट उंचीचे) राज्यातील एकमेव गोपूर आहे. तेथून पुढे गेल्यावर केंद्रस्थानी पूर्वी कार्यरत असलेली कारंजे दगडी प्रांगण आहे. मंदीराच्या पश्चिम बाजूला नक्षीदार खांबांनी केलेला सभामंडप, पाचही देवतांचे दगडी मंदीर आहे. गोपूर मात्र दगड आणि विटा अशा साहित्यांने युक्त आहे.
The Lord Ganapati Temple is situated in the city of Tasgaon within the Sangli district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Most of the Ganapati idols have a left-sided trunk, while this temple's idol's trunk bends towards the right.
Parasuram Bhau Patwardhan / Parshuram Bhau Patwardhan (Raje of Tasgaon Sansthan) was Sar-Senapati of Nanasaheb Peshwa, who had given this Tasgaon Sansthan. Raje Parashuram had fought more than 100 wars against the Tipu Sultan in South India. At that time he was impressed by the South Indian Temples and South Indian Culture of worship.

Sangli Fort and Palace has a Great History. King Patwardhan and his Kingdom. This Area Currently is Surrounded by Sangli Court and Collector Office which is on Long term Lease. Palace Has kept its Charm and a Small Temple inside it with the Old Interior Maintained well.
The Sangli Fort was contructed by shrimant appasaheb patwardhan 1st after the sangli state was formed in early 19th century is aproximately 150 years ago.
Now remains two impresive burjas and a round shape wall giving cirular way the around to enter the fort. Now the fort have imresive darbar hall at the center.
