Wai Mahaganpati Historical Place Satara In Maharashtra. Itis also known as Dholyaganpati it is the most populear ganesh mandir in India.
Mahaganapati Temple or Dholya ganapati Temple is situated on bank of krishna stream in Wai, Satara area of Maharashtra. Wai is an old city. Amid Mahabharata time the city was known by the name Virat nagari' Virat implies expansive and nagari implies city in Hindi. It is likewise called as a town of sanctuaries in light of the fact that there are numerous sanctuaries arranged along the ghats of Krishna River. It is otherwise called Dakshin Kashi in light of the fact that there are 7 ghats along Krishna River in Wai. Mahaganapati sanctuary is arranged in Ganpati aali ghat in Wai. Before this sanctuary there is Kashi Vishvesh sanctuary.
The huge statue of ganapati is produced using single dark completed stone and from a similar stone the Nandi statue is made in Kashi Vishvesh sanctuary. The sanctuary was worked in 1762 by Shri Ganapatrao Bhikaji Raste. One of the extraordinary highlights of this sanctuary is the 'fish shape' given to the back of the sanctuary. This is done to shield the sanctuary from surges in Krishna River. The fish state of sanctuary back will separate the water flow and will diminish the water weight on the sanctuary and subsequently shielding it from surges. The photography is entirely prohibited inside the sanctuary.

Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganapati Temple (Marathi: श्रीमंत दगडूशेठ हलवाई गणपती) in Pune is dedicated to the Hindu God Ganesh. The temple is popular in Maharashtra and is visited by thousands of pilgrims every year.Dagadusheth Halwai (Dagadusheth Gadve) was Lingayat trader and Sweet maker (Halwai in Marathi). He originally came from Karnataka and settled in Pune. After he gained fame as a Halwai, that became his surname. His original Halwai shop still exists under the name Kaka Halwai near Datta Mandir in Pune.
Mr. Dagdusheth Halwai was a successful sweetmeat seller and a rich businessman. In late 1800s, he lost his son in a plague epidemic. This caused Dagdusheth and his wife to go into deep depression. To heal themselves, their Guru, Shri Madhavnath Maharaj recommended building a Ganesh temple. This was completed in 1893.
Lokmanya Tilak, the Indian Nationalist leader and a contemporary of Dagdusheth, was a close friend of him. Tilak saw his dedication and also the construction of the temple and it was here that the idea of celebrating public Ganesh festival struck him. It proved to be an epoch making event in Indian history.

Nataraj Mandir: Main attractions of Satara City of Maharashtra
Nataraj Mandir is one of the main attractions of Satara City of Maharashtra. Satara is a town located in the Satara District of Maharashtra. The town gets its name from the Seven (Sat) Hills(Taras) surrounding it.
The Vyasa-puja of the year was performed at Satara on 27th of July, 1980. During His long camp at Satara, His Holiness Pujyasri Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi Mahaswamiji desired that a temple for Sri Nataraja on the model of the ancient Nataraja temple at Chidambaram should be constructed at Satara. Samanna (late) an ardent devotee of the Acharya and a prominent citizen of Satara gifted away an adequate plot of land for building the temple.
The foundation for the temple was laid on an auspicious day in May 1981. Because of the grace of the Mahaswami, by the financial assistance of the then governments of the States of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, and the supply of the entire timber necessary for the construction by the government of Kerala and diverse kinds of aid by a number of philanthropists, a majestic temple of Sri Nataraja with gopurams (towers) over the four gateways, a replica of the original in Tamil Nadu, though much smaller in size, rose up in Satara in the course of about three years.
