भीलवाड़ा शहर दक्षिण-मध्य राजस्थान राज्य, पश्चिमोत्तर भारत में स्थित है। बाज़ारों का नगर होने के साथ-साथ यह रेल और सड़क से जुड़ा एक संचार केन्द्र भी है। एक समय में यहाँ भीलों की बड़ी तादात पाई जाती थी। इसी कारण इस स्थान का नाम भीलवाड़ा पड़ा।[
पर्यटन स्थल
हर्नी महादेव
हर्नी महादेव भीलवाड़ा के प्रमुख धार्मिक स्थलों में से एक है। हर्नी महादेव भीलवाड़ा से 6 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर स्थित है। विशाल पत्थर के नीचे शिवलिंग स्थापित है। शिवरात्रि के अवसर पर यहाँ तीन दिनों तक मेले का आयोजन किया जाता है। इस मेले में काफ़ी संख्या में लोग हर्नी महादेव आते हैं। यहाँ पर्वत के सबसे ऊपरी भाग में चामुंडा माता का मंदिर भी स्थित है।
मेझा झील
मेझा झील भीलवाड़ा से 17 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर स्थित है। यह स्थान पर्यटक स्थल के रूप में काफ़ी प्रसिद्ध है। यह झील 30 फीट गहरी है। यहाँ बच्चों के लिए स्विमिंग पूल और टॉय ट्रेन की सुविधा भी उपलब्ध है।
मेनल
मेनल भीलवाड़ा-कोटा मार्ग पर स्थित है। मेनल 80 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर स्थित है। यहाँ एक ख़ूबसूरत वॉटर फॉल (जल प्रपात) है। यह वॉटर फॉल क़रीबन 150 फीट गहरा है। यह वॉटर फॉल वी आकार की घाटी पर स्थित है। इसके अतिरिक्त 12वीं शताब्दी के दौरान यहाँ चौहान शासकों ने मंदिर का निर्माण करवाया था। यह मंदिर महालेश्वर नाम से प्रसिद्ध है। इस मंदिर में भगवान शिव की मूर्ति है।
जोगनिया माता
जोगनिया माता काफ़ी प्रसिद्ध मंदिर है। यह शहर से 80 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर स्थित है। आठवीं शताब्दी में इस मंदिर का निर्माण किया गया। जोगनिया माता का मंदिर घने जंगल के मध्य में स्थित है। पर्यटक यहाँ काफ़ी संख्या में घूमने के लिए आते हैं। नवरात्रा के अवसर पर यहाँ बकरी और भैसों की बलि दी जाती है। नवरात्रा के समय यहाँ नौ दिनों तक मेले का आयोजन किया जाता है। इस मेले काफ़ी संख्या में लोग सम्मिलित होते हैं।[1]
त्रिवेनी
त्रिवेनी भीलवाड़ा शहर से 40 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर स्थित है। त्रिवेनी में तीन नदियां बार्ड, मनाली और बादच्च आपस में मिलती है। त्रिवेनी चौराहा के नाम से भी यह जगह प्रसिद्ध है। त्रिवेनी के समीप ही भगवान शिव का पुराना मंदिर भी है। पूर्णिमा, अमावस्या, कार्तिक और माघ महीने में काफ़ी संख्या में लोग यहाँ स्नान करने के लिए आते हैं। शिवरात्रि के दौरान यहाँ बहुत बड़े मेले का आयोजन किया जाता है।
मंडलगढ़ क़िला
मंडलगढ़ क़िला भीलवाड़ा से 52 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर स्थित है। यह क़िला एक किलोमीटर लंबा है। यह समुद्र तल से 1850 फीट की ऊँचाई पर स्थित है। इस जगह पर देवी-देवताओं के कई मंदिर भी है।
शाहपुरा
शाहपुरा जहाईपुरा-देवली मार्ग से 55 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर स्थित है। शाहपुरा का भारत को स्वतंत्रता दिलाने में विशेष योगदान रहा है। यह अंतर्राष्ट्रीय रामसनेही सम्प्रदाय का प्रमुख केन्द्र था। शाहपुरा यहाँ स्थित सात सौ साल पुरानी पेंटिंग के लिए भी प्रसिद्ध है। इस चित्रकारी के लिए चित्रकार को राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार से भी सम्मानित किया गया है।

Yakshini Mata Temple
The Yakshini Mata Temple is an intriguing site, if you're interested in ancient temples that are almost in ruins. The temple used to be quite a happening place in the olden days, and is still the centre of all local festivity of Mandal.
Battis Khambon ki Chhatri
One of the best things to see in Mandal is the Battis Khambon ki Chhatri. As the name suggests, this sandstone monument is a handsome chhatri (domed pavilion) of 32 pillars. Some of the pillars show good carving at the base and the upper portion. Within the sheltered space is a huge shivalinga, the phallic symbol of Shiva (the Destroyer of the Hindu Trinity of Creator-Preserver-Destroyer).
Near by Attractions
Around the place are some pillared structures, some of them that still retain their ornamental carving. But the more prominent edifice is the white Prahari Stambha which stands quite near the temple. It has a relief figure of a huge black snake with five hoods, a sacred entity of Hindu mythology. Mandal is also known for an old temple of Neelkanth Mahadev (Lord Shiva).
Bagore (Mandal)
A historical place since the PASAN CAL of Hadappa & Mohan Jodaro which is 30 km from Bhilwara on bank of Kothari river where some ancient precious things have been discovered.
Bagore Shaib Kalgidhar- This is also famous for great Gurudhawara of Bagore Sahib Kalgidhar.
Mandara (minar),Mandal
Mandal is assumed to be the base of the Mughals when they attacked Chittor Garh, the mughal forces camped near the talab of the town of Mandal, ruins of the camp can still be seen there. A tower served as light house was also built on a small hill in Mandal, know known as Mandara (minar) this small hill also houses a devi temple.
Meja
A little away from Mandal is the picturesque village, Meja (4km). An irrigation dam has been constructed here on the river Kothari, and there are boating facilities too. Meja also has a small fort said to have been built by the Sisodia Rajputs of Mewar (Udaipur).
Situated at distance of 17 kms from Bhilwara it is the main Tourist Spot and water reservoir for the Bhilwara Residents. Its capacity is 30 feet. During the rainy season, the surrounding is a site to behold here.
A rest house of Irrigation Deptt., swimming pool, swings for the children & toy train are there. Complete facilities for picnic and party are present here.

THE LAND OF TEXTILES
Famous as the ‘city of textiles and looms’, Bhilwara is home to the world renowned Ramdwara of Ramsnehi Sampraday. The founder Guru of the Sampraday, Swami Ramcharanji Maharaj, preached to his followers here and later decided to move to Shahpura. The present day headquarters of the Ram Snehi Sampraday, known as Ram Niwas Dham are located in Shahpura.
Some people say that Bhilwara got its name from the Bhils (tribal people) who lived there during the days of yore. As per a story, the city of Bhilwara had a mint that minted coins known as ‘bhiladi’. This is supposedly the origin of the district’s name. Bhilwara's cultural history can also be traced back to the Nagar Brahmins mentioned in the Skanda Purana.

BADNORE FORT

Pur Udan Chatri is about 10 kilometres from Bhilwara city. It is renowned for Udan Chatri and Adhar Sheela Mahadev, where the geographical wonder of a huge rock resting on a small one attracts tourists.
