Hunza (Burushaski: ہنزو , Wakhi, and Urdu: ہنزہ) is a mountainous valley in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. The Hunza is situated in the extreme northern part of Pakistan, bordering with the Wakhan Corridor of Afghanistan and the Xinjiang region of China.
HISTORY
Hunza was formerly a princely state bordering Xinjiang (autonomous region of China) to the northeast and Pamir to the northwest, which survived until 1974, when it was finally dissolved by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. The state bordered the Gilgit Agency to the south and the former princely state of Nagar to the east. The state capital was the town of Baltit (also known as Karimabad); another old settlement is Ganish Village which means ancient god Ganesh village. Hunza was an independent principality for more than 900 years, until the British gained control of it and the neighbouring valley of Nagar between 1889 and 1892 through a military conquest. The then Mir/Tham (ruler) Mir Safdar Ali Khan of Hunza fled to Kashghar in China and sought what would now be called political asylum.

A beautiful Talent from Hunza , Pakistan !!!
A beautiful Talent from Hunza , Pakistan !!!
It is hard to expect this deep and meaningful poetry from a 14 year old girl in this era of modern technology, where all kids are busy on gadgets. She has no idea what a gem of talent she is gifted with. That's Nisha from Hunza, Pakistan. I met her on my recent visit to Hunza, I got to know that she writes poetry so I requested her if I can get to read it. She was shy at first but then she let me read it. I was truly inspired by her understanding and observation of her surroundings and people that she expressed in her poetry.
I convinced her to make a video and I am glad she let me do it. You never know who and where will some one get inspire and take a step in doing what they like doing.
It is really important to encourage kids if they are good at something. Encourage them and motivate them if you can and see the good changes in generation!!!

Hunza valley visit, Ganish village 1000 years old history. Vlog # 2
Hello friends, here we are with location# 2 out of 1000. Our visit to hunza valley is not a planned one, it was a sudden visit. Road conditions are pretty awesome but kinda risky during winters. I suggest that avoid night drive, because some patches of KKH covered with ice. If you visit #hunza in #winters must carry wheel chains. I suggest 4*4 for winters. Our visit was just for one night stay, but we enjoyed a lot.
Hunza Valley:
One of the most frequently visited #tourism spot in #Gilgit #Pakistan. Also known as heaven on the earth. It is situated in the Gilgit-Baltistan region which is in the extreme northern part that connects China with Pakistan.

The ruling family of Hunza is called Ayeshe (heavenly). The two states of Hunza and Nagar were formerly one, ruled by a branch of the Shahreis, the ruling family of Gilgit, whose seat of government was Nager. First muslim came to Hunza-Nagar Valley some 1000 years (At the time of Imam Islām Shāh 30th Imam Ismaili Muslims). After the introduction of Islam to Gilgit, married a daughter of Trakhan of Gilgit, who bore him twin sons, named Moghlot and Girkis. From the former the present ruling family of Nager is descended. The twins are said to have shown hostility to one another from birth. Thereupon their father, unable to settle the question of succession, divided his state between them, giving Girkis the north/west, and to Moghlot the south/east bank of the river.

The traditional name for the ruler or Prince in Hunza was Tham (also Thom or Thum), which is also a respectful greeting used by the people of both Hunza and Nager who belong to the clan of Boorish.
Hunza is said to be the inspiration behind James Hilton famous novel Lost Horizon, originally published in 1933.
The book was turned into a movie with the same title in 1937, by director Frank Capra.
