The Drum Tower of Xi'an in Shaanxi province of China
The Drum Tower of Xi'an (西安鼓楼), located in the heart of Xi'an in Shaanxi province of China, along with the Bell Tower is a symbol of the city. Erected in 1380 during the early Ming Dynasty, it stands towering above the city center and offers incredible view of Xi'an.
The Drum Tower got its name from the huge drum located within the building. In contrast to the Bell Tower, where bell was stricken at dawn, drum was beat at sunset to indicate the end of the day.

珠三角的廣府人回去看族譜可能不少都會發現寫到有南雄的珠璣巷。確實廣東地區很多人曾經是從那裡移遷到南粵大地的。因為那裡是古代唯一的連接嶺南和中原的通道。而現今天我們就要去再走走這條古道，看看當年古人的南遷史。

Up first today, it's all about Qingming, or Tomb-Sweeping festival, taking place in China now. For people in the Yangtze Delta Region, the Qingming holiday can be a good time to take short trips to nearby provinces. One possible destination - the Xiangshi Festival, a carnival for villagers that's going on now in Wuzhen of Zhejiang Province.
四川南充高坪區南宋白塔晨鐘 Nanchong, Sichuan (China)
南充宋代白塔旁原有一座白塔寺(現已不復存在).100多年前,白塔寺裡的僧侶每天早起鳴鐘,鐘聲響徹雲霄,人們聽到鐘聲便起床勞作,因而有白塔晨鐘之稱.清康熙年間,順慶府通判王以豐作詩歌詠:“隔水招提一塔圓,山僧早起愛遲眠.雞聲未報鍾先到,催動江城萬戶煙.”因白塔建在嘉陵江邊的鶴鳴山上,山,水,塔交相輝映,成為南充一大名勝,從古至今吸引著不少游人吟詩作畫.目前與白塔相鄰的東嶽廟(寶壽寺)於2001年重新開放,並新建了晨鐘樓,再現了白塔晨鐘的景觀.

The Yufeng temple (Lijiang - Yunnan - China)
(EN) One of the seven largest monasteries in Lijiang, Yufeng Temple is renowned for the giant Camellia Tree that stands in the grounds, and is known as the Ten-thousand-flower Camellia. Yufeng Temple, located at the southern foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, is 9 kilometers from the county seat of Lijiang. Yufeng Temple is called Kalashicongfeilin in Tibetan language. It lies on the east slope of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain with ancient forests clustering around. There is a small pool in front of the lamasery embraced by big pine trees.
The Lamasery has three courtyards and the famous Great Camellia is in the northern one. It is said this tree was planted between 1465 and 1487 during the Ming Dynasty before the temple was built. So the tree is more than 500 years old. Its blossoming period lasts more than 100 days a year, and produces more than 20,000 flowers in 20 groups, each group over 1,000 flowers. One blossom is about 17 cm in diameter. The scene is magnificent.
The camellia tree is three meters high and the diameter of its stem is 40 centimeters, a size and span rarely seen in the world. Actually it is a combination of two different breeds of camellia. They were engrafted in one tree and now have grown into a huge tree with the crown shading the whole courtyard.
In the eyes of the Naxi, the Great Camellia is the symbol of true love. Naxi young lovers that want to die for their love in Yunshanpin of Jade Dragons snow Mountain will come to Yufeng Temple to take a look at the Great Camellia. This tree is believed to have a magical power to persuade the young lovers to cherish their lives and enjoy happy life in real world

Thousands of people in Kachin State have been displaced by flooding following heavy rain last week, according to relief organisations.
An official from the Myanmar Red Cross Society said that more than 2100 people from 396 households in Myitkyina township were moved to five relief camps on June 25 after the water level of the Ayeyarwady River rose towards its danger level of 1200 centimetres.

Authorities issued a flood warning in Myikyina Township in Kachin State as the water level of Ayeyawady River exceeded its danger level of 1,200 cm yesterday night, according to the Kachin State Department of Meteorology and Hydrology.
The water level in Myitkyina reached 1,413 cm in 1979, 1,411 cm in 1997 and 1,407 cm in 2004.
