My first time drinking Garage Project and its a banging DIPA! I was lucky enough to visit Garage Project in Wellington and got to drink so many amazing beers. Definitely some of the best beers I've been able to try in NZ.
How To Make Beer - with the Bowls Club Jazz boys and Garage Project
Callum and Kieran (of Bowls Club Jazz fame) went to the Garage Project brewery in Wellington to help shoot a promotional video for their special edition New Zealand Fringe Festival beer Beyond the Pale. After a brief chat with the brewing stuff, they were convinced they now knew how to make beer.

Interview with Deloitte Fast 50 2015 finalist, Jos Ruffell of The Garage Project. They may be a small brewery located in an old petrol station but they are achieving big things. So big they are 2015’s number one place holders in the Deloitte Fast 50. Located in an unlikely place for a brewery, Garage Project’s aim is to create unique and beautiful beers. Fans of pushing boundaries, reinterpreting styles and challenging the notions of what beer can be, they are here to try something new.
Wellington Jewish Community Mikvah Project
The current Mikvah is a barely functional, but a drab, dreary and unappealing facility located inside a parking garage off of a dark alley. Efforts to beautify the Wellington Mikvah are severely limited by its location and the age of the facilities. The Wellington Jewish Community has made creating a new, modern, accessible, and inviting Mikvah a high priority.

August 2017 Behind the Scenes with Garage Project
August is by far our busiest month at the brewery- Multiple events for Wellington on a Plate & Beervana- NZ's largest food & beer festivals. Our events team goes into overdrive, while our brew and pack team continue pumping out over 15 new beers.
Beautiful New Zealand - Windy City Wellington
Wellington, the capital of New Zealand, sits near the North Island’s southernmost point on the Cook Strait. A compact city, it encompasses a waterfront promenade, sandy beaches, a working harbour and colourful timber houses on surrounding hills. From Lambton Quay, the iconic red Wellington Cable Car heads to the Wellington Botanic Gardens. Strong winds through the Cook Strait give it the nickname Windy Wellington.
The New Zealand Hop Harvest
Once a year the world-famous NZ hops are harvested in the Nelson region of the South Island. During this momentous event we at GP fly down on a chartered plane to get the freshly picked hops to our brewery in Wellington as soon as possible for a special 'fresh hop brew'. 2017 saw the creation of '16 ft High and Rising'- bursting with over 300kg of the choicest wet Kohatu and Nelson Sauvin hop cones. This IPA has a clean malt base, snappy bitterness, and classic lime & tangelo notes. It is a celebration of NZ hops.

Wellington On a Plate, albeit a great festival to drown in burgers, is so much more than that. This is one of the many, many events held throughout the 16-day festival, in which various hospitality vendors, restaurants, etc organize and collaborate in food-related events.

Sabco Brew-Magic New Zealand Hop Harvest Brew
Garage Project packed up it's Sabco Brew-Magic and headed off to the Hop Fields of Motueka, New Zealand. The goal was to brew a beer in the fields, using hops picked directly from the Bines. Something uniquely possible with a small system like the Sabco Brew-Magic.
We ended up at Colin Oldham's farm and the beer that resulted we called Oldham's Farm Harvest'. We'll be back next year for sure!
Garage Project is a brewery based in Wellington, New Zealand that is relentlessly experimental. We started by brewing 24 different beers in 24 on our Brew-Magic, and have gone on from there.

Wellington - New Zealand Road Trip
Wellington was the next part of our New Zealand road trip. Spent over a week with my Auntie and Uncle who I hadn't seen in a few years and Hugo also had a little bit of an upgrade.
