Hey, its Amanda Vey, and in this video, my family and I paid a visit to Le Petit Champlain, in Old Quebec City.
This area of old Quebec claims title of the oldest commercial district in North America. Le Petit Champlain is famous for its historical buildings, murals, dining and shopping. It is a great place to experience Old Quebec City history. I highly recommend Quebec city for families, as there is so much to do, including getting a great view of an Icebreaker, Des Groseilliers, and La Gare Du Palais, the Old Via Rail Train Station.

Gare du Palais, Quebec City, Quebec - Crystal Fountains Inc.
The impressive fountain sculpture entitled Éclatement II at place de la Gare on rue Saint-Paul is by Charles Daudelin, a master of abstract sculpture whose work combines movement, volume, and matter. Set to the magnificent backdrop of Gare du Palais - a heritage railway station built in 1915, the central fountain welcomes visitors when they exit the station. It is a great spot to relax and enjoy the fountain and surrounding floral displays. In this piece with overlapping tectonic plates, the powerful spray of water pays homage to Québec’s hydroelectric heritage. The fountain also echoes the artist’s work at Place du Québec in Paris, entitled Embâcle, highlighting the ties that bind these two capitals of the French-speaking world, one in North America, the other in Europe.

Canada High Speed Rail: Québec to Montréal
Travel across the French Quarter of Canada in only 50 minutes!
In this WEBEO, I lay out where a possible high speed rail link can be implemented between some of Canada's population centres. This particular WEBEO is linking the cities of Québec and Montréal together in only 50 minutes. High speed rail in Canada is vital in that it is the only G7 nation without any high speed rail whatsoever, and to remain competitive and connected to globalization, Canada's cities need to be more effectively linked together.
This line mostly runs south of the St. Lawrence River, where an existing alignment is located. However, much of this alignment is only a single track and all of it is unelectrified, so work has to be done to get this high-speed ready. However, I believe that the costs will be outweighed by the many economical and environmental benefits as a result of its construction. The top speed of the line is 350 km/h, and there will be both ultra high speed and regional high speed, the latter stopping at all stations listed below:
Stations: Québec Gare du Palais, Saint-Redempteur, Drummondville, Mont Saint-Hilarie, Saint-Hubert, Montréal Gare Centrale
