Gyeongsan Gatbawi Wish-fulfillment Festival
Wishing for National Prosperity & Welfare at the Gatbawi Public Parking Lot in Wachon-myeon
[IIJ= Gyeongsangbuk-do Reporter Soonho Lee, Boseul Lee] 2017 Gyeongsan Gatbawi Wish-fulfillment Festival was held for three days from 15th to 17th with the theme of Wish-fulfillment and the spiritual energy of Gyeongsanpalgongsanguanbong Seated Stone Buddha.
2017 Gyeongsan Gatbawi Wish-fulfillment festival was an experience event praying for wishes for three days, and it was favorably received by the visitors by holding a variety of events such as ▲Wish Paper Hanging, ▲Wish Key Chain Making, ▲Wish Luch Bag Making, and ▲Pray-for-wish Glutinous Rice Cake Experience.
On the first day, this festival was open with Daryebonghaeng, followed by Wish-fulfillment Prayer Ritual and a performance by Gyeongsan Municipal entertainers and artists.
On the second day, the performances of Gyeongsan Municipal Choir and Theater Company, and Family Pray-for-wish Song Festival were held. On the 17th, the last day of the festival were held 1st Gyeongsan City Mayor's Flag Gatbawi Climbing Tournament, Pyongyang Art Company's Reunification Pray Performance in sequence, and finally Wishing for National Prosperity & Welfare and Balloon Flying in place of the closing ceremony for the purpose of ceremony simplification.
Having about 50,000 tourists from home and abroad, this 3 day festival ended up with a great success.
A Gyeongsan City official said they will do their best to accommodate more visitors next year by developing various programs.

Gatbawi (atau Gwanbong Seokjoyeoraejwasang)adalah patung Budha di Daehan-ri , Wachon-Myeon , Gyeongsan , Gyeongsangbuk-do , Republik Korea . Itu dibuat di era Kerajaan Silla Bersatu dan terkenal dengan nama Buddha Gatbawi (Stone Hat Buddha). Ini tingginya 4 meter, dan topinya adalah batu datar setebal 15 sentimeter di kepalanya,
Patung granit tunggal ini dibuat oleh Uihyeon , di bagian atas 850 meter (2.790 kaki) kasar tinggi Palgongsan dan dikelilingi oleh dinding batu layar-seperti latar belakang. Dikatakan bahwa Uihyeon berhasil mewujudkan jiwanya pada tahun ke 7 pemerintahan Ratu Seondeok dari Kerajaan Silla

Hiking Mt.Palgongsan in Daegu, South Korea
Palgong Mountain, and previously called Gongsan during the Goryeo dynasty, is a mountain in southeastern South Korea, lying on an outlier of the Taebaek range. It stands on the northeastern border between Daegu metropolitan city and North Gyeongsang province (including the districts of Chilgok County, Gunwi County, Yeongcheon, and Gyeongsan). Its peak is 1193 m above sea level.
The mountain is the site of a number of cultural and natural heritage sites. These include Buddhist shrines from the Silla period or later, including the large and active temple of Donghwasa and the Gunwi Triad Budda Grotto (National Treasure 109). In addition, in 927 the Battle of Gong Mountain was fought between Hubaekje and Goryeo forces on the mountain's southern slope.
Natural treasures include the standing stone of Gatbawi, so called from its resemblance to a traditional Korean horsehair hat, or gat.
The mountain, connected to downtown Daegu by bus, is a popular site for weekend outings from the city. Portions of the mountain were designated a provincial park in 1980.

There are many paths up to the top of the mountain. However, this trail is different.
When people go up here, they mount step by step with praying.
This is because this is the pathway to meet Gat Rock Buddha which grant at least one of their wishes ,once they pray diligently.
