Fisheating Creek paddle in Palmdale, Florida
Adventure paddle through the majestic Fisheating Creek. We explored the less-traveled route a full five miles downstream from the launch at Fisheating Creek Outpost. The creek has been open to the public for about 20 years, but was so desolate on the day of our visit that it felt like a place still forbidden to outsiders. The stately cypress trees spread their roots far along the shore and shut off any noise from the outside world, leaving us alone with a chorus of cries from wading birds, shrieks from hunting hawks, and splashes from the impressive number of turtles and alligators startled by our approach. Near the end of our journey we came to Paradise lake, a tranquil expanse of water filled to the brim with alligators. Watching the broad, scaly backs of gigantic reptiles sliding past each other though rich tannin-dark waters made for the perfect scene over which to enjoy a light lunch. The current traveling back was light and forgiving, but there are several portions that are shallow and require portaging at most times of the year.
If you plan to check out this route be sure to check the water levels (see link below) before you go. 1.5' is the recommended minimum level for paddlers. We took this trip when the water was at 1.35' and absolutely loved every minute of it, but we enjoy mixing up our kayaking trips with some portaging. This might not be a good option for someone who doesn't enjoy the added challenge of frequently getting in and out in order to walk their boat.

Gatorama - Sept. 2015
Welcome to another MCDJ Services adventure to a place you may not get to visit. This one takes place in Palmdale, Florida which is located 140 miles south of St. Petersburg.
If you ever wondered about some of god’s great creations (like alligators, crocodiles and others), this would be a good place to go. The amount of education and history about this facility is enormous and available online or by phone. I can tell you, staff stated they have “3,500” alligators and crocodiles on about 10 acres
Like all attractions, there are special times scheduled to see something that will peak your interest. The photos / video brings to light (for those of us that are city slickers) the evolution of time can be seen and felt in the palm of your hands in mid-August

In-depth TRAINER FOR A DAY experience at Gatorland - Day 4 - Florida: The Grand Adventure
On Day 4 we have another early rise as we head on to Gatorland for what has become, even to this day, one of our favourite activities of all time as we go behind the scenes on the Trainer For A Day experience as well as getting up close and personal with some of the biggest gators in the State of Florida!.
It was incredibly difficult to cut this footage down to even 30 minutes. It was such an unbelievable and amazing day that it's impossible to quickly on the internet. So we'd wholly recommend anyone to go do it for themselves... To learn more about and learn to appreciate these amazing animals, as well as meeting the outstandingly dedicated care team that look after both the animals and the guests.
This is the start of our Grand Adventure to Florida for 8 weeks back in the Spring of 2017. Follow along as we travel all around the state, visiting the theme parks, exploring different cities and towns, & doing as many different activities as we possibly could all whilst having a rollercoaster of a time!
DISCLAIMER: These vlogs were recorded whilst in my previous relationship. Whilst we are no longer together, it has been a passion project of mine to finally get these edited together and uploaded for our families and for the world to see.

Bull Gator & Croc Round Up at Gatorama in Palmdale, Fla., Jan. 20, 2018
Gatorama - Bull Gator & Croc Round Up, Palmdale, Fla., Jan. 20, 2018.
Gatorama is one of Florida's few roadside attractions that was founded before Walt Disney World arrived in the Sunshine State and still around.
They offer hands-on experiences for visitors and educational shows. Gatorama also breeds and raises alligators for the meat, leather and other goods. They also raise American crocodiles for conservation efforts, zoos, etc.
The Bull Gator & Croc Round Up is typically held every Oct. but due to Hurricane Irma, it was moved to Jan. 20, 2018. About 20 wranglers from throughout Florida came to move American alligators that found their way into the American crocodile side of the pond to the other side.
Fun fact: many of the wranglers use deep sea fishing rods with 100 lb test to hook the side of the gators (which does not hurt them).

Flaming Gators (Florida, Day 5 - March 5th, 2013)
We went to Gatorama and spent the day hanging out with some cool gators, crocodiles and other animals who spend their lives chilling in Florida. While leaving, we encountered a pretty intense forest fire that we actually had noticed the start of on the way there. I also tried Five Guys Burgers and Fries for the first time and I must say it was rather fantastic. After swimming, we made cinnamon rolls and Detroit beat Colorado 2-1 so I was quite content. Tomorrow we'll be seeing Jimmie Johnson's Daytona 500 winning car at the Daytona 500 Experience museum.

What Does an Alligator Hatchling Sound Like?
What does an alligator hatching sound like? I visited Gatorama in Palmdale, Fla., one of the state’s oldest road side attractions to find out. Gatorama is also a working alligator farm. I was allowed entree into the walk-in incubator where harvested eggs are in trays covered in moss. When they are almost ready to hatch, they begin to chirp.
Thank you to Gatorama for spending the day with me. Learn more about the attraction at
