Exploring The Gay Village Of Montreal Canada & The Toiletpaper Magazine Exhibit
#GayVillage #LGBT
We spent the day exploring the Gay Village of Montreal, Canada and discovered a very cool outside photography exhibit featuring Pop Art from TOILETPAPER Magazine. This is the largest gay village in North America and features a very cool ball art installation that forms the largest Rainbow Flag in the world. This area of Montreal is alive with cafe's, bars, shops and more and it is refreshing to see people from the LGBTQ community co-mingling with all types of people.

Montreal's Gay Village (often simply known as the Village; French: Le Village gai or simply Le Village) is located mainly on St. Catherine Street East and extends along Amherst Street in the Ville-Marie borough.
The entire Village is bordered approximately by St. Hubert Street to the west, De Lorimier Avenue to the east, Sherbrooke Street to the north and René Lévesque Boulevard to the south, making it the largest gay village in North America in terms of area. It is served by the Berri-UQAM, Beaudry and Papineau metro stations.

Fun fact: The first recorded gay establishment in North America was Montrealer Moise Tellier’s apple and cake shop on Saint Antoine Street in 1869. The balls will remain until October 2019.

In this video we explore Montreal! A vibrant city with a rich history of culture, diversity, and an incredible food scene, Montreal continually ranks among my list of my favorite places to travel. Today I took my boyfriend Danyon on an adventure with my friend Baghdig from What's Up Montreal - he showed us a few fun places that you can explore too! We toured the Old Port (Vieux Port) to discover the European flare. We saw the city from above a building to see the 360 degree views of the mountains, city, and river. We explored Griffintown for a Brooklyn-esq vibe that landed us in a restaurant specializing in meatballs, and concluded our day with a hike up Mount Royal!

(EN) Montreal's Gay Village (The Village, French, Le Village gai or simply Le Village) is located on Saint Catherine Street East, centred on Beaudry metro station, and on Amherst Street in the Ville-Marie borough of the city. The Village runs approximately from St-Hubert Street to De Lorimier Street on Saint Catherine Street, and between Sherbrooke Street and René Lévesque Boulevard on Amherst Street, a distance of nearly two kilometres, making it the largest in North America in terms of scope of the complete area.
Formerly a poor working-class neighbourhood, part of the Centre-Sud area of the city, the area was occupied by the gay and lesbian community after the huge expulsion of many gay businesses from an area closer to Saint Lawrence Boulevard (or The Main as the locals call it). The area has been considerably gentrified, due in part to recent investment from the various levels of all governments.
Indeed, despite repression as late as the early 1990s, recent government support of Le Village has been significant. All three levels of government are aggressively promoting the Village, and with the accepting climate of Quebec, and gay life in Montreal as a tourist attraction. In recognition of the Village's importance to the city, Montreal's Ville-Marie borough that includes the Village recently hung a rainbow flag in its council chambers, and recently redecorated the entrance to the Beaudry Metro station found in the heart of the Gay Village with rainbow pillars. The Village is specifically marked on official city maps as Le Village.

New to my channel? Hi, I'm Josh Rimer - a gay travel vlogger/YouTuber, and TV host/producer! I visit a new gay-friendly destination every 2 weeks with my boyfriend Heath and we bring you along with us on our trips to help you figure out where you might like to go too!
Every Tuesday I upload a Travel Tuesday video where I show you everything we experienced during a day of our visit including the hotel, restaurants, and attractions. See the previous ones at

Montreal Nightlife 2019! Downtown Packed with Party People!
#montreal #nightlife #party
Montreal is ranked as number #1 best party city in Canada. No surprise because Montreal downtown is filled with nightclubs, pubs, restaurants and bars. The most popular locations to party in Montreal are St Laurent Blvd, Saint-Catherine Street, and Crescent Street.
In my previous Montreal video, I filmed the nightlife on Crescent Street. You can find the video here:
In this video, I will show you the nightlife on St Laurent Blvd from 12:00 to 03:00 am. Filming during night hours is challenging, but a cup of coffee always does the trick. There were a lot more people in St Laurent Blvd compared to Crescent Street. The most popular destination on St Laurent is Le Rouge Bar. Enjoy!
