Gayatri Temple, pushkar
Gayatri Temple is another important temple among the host of 400 temples in the land of Pushkar. Gayatri was another wife of Lord Brahma. The origin of Gayatri lies in mythology.
When Lord Brahma decided to perform a yagna (ceremonial sacrifice) he dropped a lous flower to determine the place. That is how the lake of Pushkar came into existence. But when He was all set to start the ceremonial sacrifice, presence of His consort Savitri by His side was a prerequisite. But She was delaying. Seeing the impatient Brahma, God Indra, the priest, manifested a girl - Gayatri - as a substitute. Since she belonged to the untouchable class, she was put into the mouth of a cow and removed from the other end and thus purified. Lord Brahma married her and performed the worship on the most auspicious time. Henceforth Gayatri is also revered as a consort of Lord Brahma.
But this is not the end of the story. The act of marrying without Her consent, brought about the wrath of Savitri upon Lord Brahma and He was cursed that He would not be worshipped anywhere else but in Pushkar.
The Gayatri Temple stands on the other side of the lake. You need to climb a small hill to reach the shrine.
Gayatri is also worshipped along with Lord Brahma and Savitri

Its close connection with the seventh incarnation of the sage is due to a mythology that states his saving the Vedas and the seven sages from inundation during the great flood.

KULLU MANALI, HIDIMBA DEVI TEMPLE, Day 8
Like, share and Subscribe ...!!!
The Hidimba Devi or Hidimbi Devi temple is built around a cave where Hidimba performed meditation. Hidimbi was supposed to have lived there with her brother Hidimb, and not much is known about their parents. Born into a Rakshasa family, Hidimba vowed to marry one who would defeat her brother Hidimb, who was supposed to be very brave and fearless. During the Pandava's exile, when they visited Manali; Bhima, one of the five Pandavas, killed Hidimb. Thereafter, Hidimba married Bhima and gave birth to their son Ghatotkacha.
The Hidimba Devi Temple has intricately carved wooden doors and a 24 meters tall wooden shikhar or tower above the sanctuary.[3] The tower consists of three square roofs covered with timber tiles and a fourth brass cone-shaped roof at the top. The earth goddess Durga forms the theme of the main door carvings.[4] The temple base is made out of whitewashed, mud-covered stonework. An enormous rock occupies the inside of the temple, only a 7.5 cm (3 inch) tall brass image representing goddess Hidimba Devi. A rope hangs down in front of the rock, and according to a legend,in bygone days religious zealots would tie the hands of sinners by the rope and then swing them against the rock.[5]
About seventy metres away from the temple, there is a shrine dedicated to Goddess Hidimba's son, Ghatotkacha, who was born after she married Bhima. The most surprising feature of the temple or what believers could call the most reassuring feature of the temple is the fact that inside the temple the imprint of the feet of the Goddess carved on a block of stone are worshiped.
