Miniby, Kolding, Danmark FHD2364
Miniby, Kolding, Danmark
The association, Kolding Miniby, was founded in 1996 by 17 enthusiastic people, who had the aim of rebuilding Kolding as it looked in the period 1860-1870 at a scale of 1:10. By 2017, the association had around 280 members, of whom around 60 people were active.
Most of the buildings have been built at El-Vej 2b, Kolding. Here, the drawing office, the tile kiln, the window workshop and office are located. Come and see how all the building components are made. The workshop is open every day, all year round from 8.30am until 11.00am.
The Miniature Town in the Geographical Garden was officially opened in 2012 and the construction work is still going on. By 2017, around 380 of the planned 700 buildings had been erected. The erection of the remaining buildings will continue and be completed in 2026.
Kolding Miniby is characterised by the abundant window decoration on the houses, as well as the many miniature people and animals in the backyards. The Geographical Garden is a perfect setting for the miniature town, and it’s easy to understand why Kolding Miniby has been called the most beautiful miniature town in Denmark. During opening hours, the people building the miniature town are usually present and are only too pleased to answer your questions.
Denmark Introduction to Bikes

Vado HD - Herning to Århus
This video was taken on a drive from Herning to Århus via Silkeborg in Denmark. That day the sky was cloudy and it was quite windy, just the right conditions for the wind turbines. The total drive took close to 1 ½ hours (includes the short stop at Silkeborg). I did not use a tripod or any other stabilising equipment in this video, only my arm resting against the door.

VR Experience: SDU Faculty of Engineering by CF Møller Architects
The Technical Faculty (Faculty of Engineering) is part of the University of Southern Denmark in Odense, and constitutes a shared research and education environment for four different institutes.
The building is designed as one big envelope consisting of 5 houses connected by bridges at multiple levels crossing the heart of the house, a piece of furniture containing common functions and meeting-rooms, and giving access to a roof garden/café/lounge area. The many connections allow for more fluid boundaries, and more community and knowledge sharing.
The building is shrouded in an external screen revealing and shading the transparent volume. The elegant and seemingly weightless screen is made from pre-fab panels of white CRC concrete (Compact Reinforced Composite, a special type of Fibre Reinforced High Performance Concrete with high strength) featuring circular openings with an underlying solar screen and natural ventilation. The unusual screen reflects the innovation and creativity that characterises the various institutes.
The interior layout creates great flexibility, with the larger labs located on the ground floor, for easy access to the terrain and opportunity for outdoor activities.
The Technical Faculty meets the requirements for low energy class 1 according to BR95 (Danish building codes). This means minimal energy consumption, good indoor climate and use of materials with a low environmental impact in a life cycle perspective.
