[ENG Subtitles] Jeju Haenyeo divers and their traditional work song Ieodo Sana
I am happy to know that the Korean culture of Jeju Haenyeo(women divers of Jeju Island) is now listed on the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Muljil, the way Jeju Haenyeo dive and swim under the sea, Sumbisori, the unique verbal sound they make when resurfacing, and many traditional work songs by the Haenyeo divers are now globally recognized.
The history of Korean Haenyeo dates back to the era of the Three Kingdoms. The Haenyeo divers' life was really tough not only because their work itself was physically challenging but also because they received many cold shoulders.
However, touching stories about their life began to move the hearts of many people today. Haenyeo divers overcome all the difficulties to take care of their family and raise their children, making their own unique community culture. They also deserve compliments for their nature-friendly attitude. They usually leave very little environmental impact.
Jeju Haenyeo divers' traditional work song Ieodo Sana has very sad lyrics. It suggests that their life was very hard to the extent that is beyond our imagination. When it comes to the interpretation of the lyrics, there is some controversy. Nevertheless, I added the English subtitles to help you understand the song and culture.

◆ Team Masters' Itinerary
Team Masters is off to Geoje, Namhae's signature destination for relaxation by searching through SNS postings. Team Masters visits Hakdong Pebble Beach, Korea's biggest pebble beach, and enjoys the sound of rolling waves at the pebble beach looking out to sea.
After that, Team Masters goes to Windy Hill, a classic hot spot in Geoje, and appreciates the magnificent view of Geoje from the top of the hill.
Then Team Masters takes off to Sea World through SNS searches, which offers unique experiences. The team enjoys a special opportunity to connect with dolphins while feeding and training them. Then the team goes see the aloes in Geoje, which accounts for 70% of the national aloe production, and to wrap up the trip, grab a bite of super-sized craft burgers, Geoje's specialty trending on SNS.
◆ Team Rookies' Itinerary
Team Rookies is off to Tongyeong, a city that embraces the Hallyeo Waterway, based on a travel guide map.
The team's first stop is Dongpirang Village, Korea's signature mural village!
The team looks around the beautiful murals in the village and tries the craft of lacquerware with mother-of-pearl inlay, a traditional Korean decorative technique for wood lacquer crafts.
After that, Team Rookies goes on a cable car! The team goes to the top of Mireuksan Mountain, one of Korea's 100 most beautiful mountains, and enjoys the fantastic sight of the Hallyeo Waterway. The team also rides the luge, Tongyeong's unique ride that descends purely based on the gravity and the slopes of the ground.
Next, the team goes to Tongyeong Jungang Market to meet with market vendors who have been doing business there for a long time, and tries unique flavors of Tongyeong. To wrap up, Team Rookies enjoys fresh seafood in Tongyeong, the largest waypoint for ocean catches in the Namhae area.

그 후, 케이블카에 탑승! 국내 100대 명산으로 지정된 미륵산 정상에 올라가 한려수도의 환상적인 절경을 만끽하고 중력과 땅의 경사만을 이용해 내려오는 통영의 이색 놀이시설! 루지를 체험한다.
그 다음, 통영중앙시장을 찾아 오랜 세월 자리를 지켜온 시장 사람들을 만나고 통영만의 맛을 만끽하는 루키즈팀. 마지막으로 남해 최대의 해산물의 집결지인 통영에서 싱싱한 해산물을 맛보는 시간을 가진다.

Let's go to Jebudo, South Korea!
In this video, you will get a glance at what it's like being at Jebudo Island, South Korea. I only touched on the surface of what the Island has to offer because I was only there for about 2 days. There are plenty of other things to check out, but for now, this will do!
From Jebudo Island (제부도) you can witness the parting of sea. This seemingly biblical phenomena can be experienced in Hoedong-ri, Gogun-myeon, Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do; Sado-ri in Hwajeong-myeon, Yeocheon-gun, Jeollanam-do; at Muchangpo Beach in Gwandang-ri, Ungcheon-myeon, Boryeong-gun, Chungcheongnam-do; Hado in Unsan-ri, Byeonsan-myeon, Buan-gun, Jeollabuk-do and between Jebudo Island and Songgyo-ri, Seosin-myeon, Hwaseong City, Gyeonggi-do.
The 2.3-kilometer stretch of water between Jebudo Island and Songgyo-ri, Seosin-myeon, parts twice a day during the low tide, and is where the sea parts most frequently in Korea. The exposed foreshore, which remains accessible for six hours until it is submerged by the tide, appears at a different time each day. Just roughly 20 years ago, the people of Jebudo Island would wade across the route, often getting soaked up to their waist, to reach the mainland. However, after cement pavement was installed in the late 1980’s, the route became quickly and easily accessible by car. Though Jebu Island is small there are some notable sights to see, like the Maebawi (falcon rock) that serves as roost for local falcons, and a 2.5 km beach that is dotted with clamshells.
