Even though we didn't go to the exact lava tube, we were impressed with the exhibitions. The man-made cave looks SO REAL! This is a must go place before you went anywhere else in Jeju. Then, we headed to Jeju International Airport and ready to go to Seoul. Funny moment when we didn't have any clue on how to use the toilet! There's so many buttons! Walking through Jeju, The World Natural Heritage Site
The world's first UNESCO triple crown. The masterpiece created from Mother Nature and time, experience JejuView the 'UNESCO triple crown' through moving images. Enjoy 30 minutes of tranquility in your daily life.
In 2010, Jeju Island made history by becoming the world's first place to register for all 3 of the 'Environmental Protection System'. With this, Jeju started off as a small island of Korea and has become a value that humankind must preserve. The Baengnokdam and Yeongsil at the summit, the gentle Oreums, and the various views of the Hallasan Mountain have been captured in diverse angles. The interior of the Dangcheomuldonggul and the Yeongcheondonggul lava tubes which is prohibited to the general public can be seen. 'Walking through Jeju, The World Natural Heritage Site' allows you to indirectly experience the ecotourism of the Geopark Jeju. Experience 30 minutes of tranquility during your daily life.

Jeju, UNESCO world natural heritage site
Jeju, Korea's largest resort island.
It's the only place in Korea listed as a World Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Our Kim Hyesung was there to check out its beauty in the perfect autumn weather.
Korea's southern island of Jeju is well-known for its emerald colored beaches.
An island created after undersea volcanic eruptions two million years ago, Jeju boasts a unique landscape of volcanic cones and tuff rings.
Also known as The island of the Gods, Jeju Island, visited by over ten million tourists a year, is the only place in the world to have won triple crowns from UNESCO in the area of natural science -- a biosphere reserve in 2002, World Natural Heritage in 2007 and a global geopark in 2010.
I went to explore the seven-kilometer long Manjanggul Lava Tube, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site recognized for its outstanding geological value.
These lava tubes were formed by the basalt lava from the Geomunoreum volcano 200 to 300 thousand years ago, when lava flowed down to the coast some 13 kilometers away.
And Hallasan Mountain, the tallest mountain in Korea.
As I climb, I felt like I'm in the movie Avatar, surrounded by wild, tall plant species.
Mount Hallasan is rich in bio-diversity, home to 4,000 animal and 1,800 plant species thanks to its high altitude and its sharply varying temperatures from the bottom to the mountain peak.
And you can see hawk-moths, dancing from flower to flower, as if in a peaceful paradise.
Mount Hallasan is 1,950 meters high, and it takes about five hours to reach its peak.
I found a group of tourists at the peak taking pictures to capture the moment.
Between 1,000 to 5,000 tourists a day come here to see the spectacular view.
I heard that the Halla Mountain was one of the world heritage of Jeju Island, so very good option to come here, very beautiful.
At the summit is Baekrokdam, an elliptical volcano with a diameter of 700 meters.
Here we have the lake crater Baekrokdam. Sometimes filled with water and sometimes not. But thanks to recent rain, we got to see the great view
Clouds shroud the lake against the backdrop of green mountain slopes and a flock of crows flying high, combining for a truly breathtaking view.
On my last day, I went to see the sunrise from Seongsan Ilchulbong, a volcanic tuff cone famous for its sunrise view.
The clouds gave way to daybreak and the mesmerizing sun roused the sleeping island.
The sides of the tuff cone have been eroded by waves, making the rocks nearly perpendicular to the surface.
A destination of different colors, Jeju is not only the treasure of Korea but also a heritage of the world.

Hamdeok Beach JEJU, SOUTH KOREA + Geomonoreum Trail (WeWillNomad)
The thing with Hamdeok Beach is that if you arrive during high tide, you’re likely to think that there isn’t much of a beach.. but when the tide goes out you’re left with an amazingly huge sand bar with plenty of space for people to spread out, tide pools for kids to play in and rocks to hunt around for crabs and shellfish.
Driving around the island is by far the easiest way to get around as getting around isn’t so easy via public transport. However, if you have time and patience the public bus system can be perfectly adequate and cheap. Especially reaching the main centres around the island is fast and efficient with regular buses connecting them. The challenge is to reach inland or more remote spots. If you're located in Jeju City rather rent a car or scooter if you plan on inland excursions - to maximise your time.
In this video, we visit the Jeju World Natural Heritage Centre to hike the Geomunoreum trail. You can find more information here:
There are so many oreum (parasitic cones) on Jeju Island that, climbing one a day, you couldn't see all of them in one year. Geomunoreum is considered to be the foremost among them. Its name means black oreum and it was derived from the dense forest in its crater that has a unique black tint. Its summit is 456 m above sea level and has a circumference of 4.5km. At the summit lies a deep, horseshoe-shaped crater with a large opening in the northeastern rim. To see Geomunoreum, all visitors must sign up for a guided tour at the Visitor Center.

In this video, you'll see one of the uniqueness of Jeju Island. Aside from the UNESCO World Heritage of Seongsan Ilchulbong, Jeju also offer the taste of its traditional home at Jeju Folk Village Museum. There, you'll find the iconic Jeju Black Pig! Super cute! And hairy too! (hehe). Watch how Sis Lola tried to steal the oranges from the tree. And how jealous she is when the korean women feed her husband a candy. It's hilarious! The journey continue to Mount Hallasan. We got chance to play with the snow at the bottom of Mount Hallasan. Unforgetable moment. Our day couldn't get any better when we had halal Indian food. Yes! There's halal restaurant here in Jeju! Hope you guys like it!

Korea Jeju Seongsan IIchulbong Sunrise Peak - July 2013
Seongsan IIchulbong ( Sunrise Peak ) in Jeju, Korea
Seongsan Ilchulbong, Jeju, South Korea
Seongsan Ilchulbong (성산 일출봉), or Sunrise Peak, is an archetypal tuff cone that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Jeju Island, South Korea.
Overlooking Seongsan Village, Seongsan Ilchulbong is located on the eastern side of Jeju Island. To get to the peak, one must climb up a series of steps, which can be rather steep at certain points.
The view from the top is worth the steep climb, providing a wonderful bird's-eye view of the sea and the land. Be wary that winds are very strong at this point.

제주 동부오름(Oreum in East Jeju)
There are 368 parasitic cones in Jeju around Halla Mountain, and they are called oreum in Korean. Oreum means independent mountain or peak in the Jeju dialect. Many are in Gujwa-eup, Jeju City, including Jwabomi, Baegyagi, Darangshi, Nopeun, Sonji, Donggeomun, Abu, and Yongnuee. Donggeomi Oreum is particularly popular.

Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak [UNESCO World Heritage] (성산일출봉)Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak rose from under the sea in a volcanic eruption over 100,000 years ago. Located on the eastern end of Jejudo Island, there is a huge crater at the top of Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak. The crater is about 600m in diameter and 90m high. With the 99 sharp rocks surrounding the crater, it looks like a gigantic crown. While the southeast and north sides are cliffs, the northwest side is a verdant grassy hill that is connected to the Seongsan Village. The ridge provides an ideal spot for walks and for horse riding as well.

The sunrise from the crater is magnificent. Also the Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak surrounded by bright yellow colored rapeseed flowers in the spring is truly a sight to behold.Seongsan Ilchulbong, also called ‘Sunrise Peak’, is an archetypal tuff cone formed by hydrovolcanic eruptions upon a shallow seabed about 5 thousand years ago. Situated on the eastern seaboard of Jeju Island and said to resemble a gigantic ancient castle, this tuff cone is 182 meters high, has a preserved bowl-like crater and also displays diverse inner structures resulting from the sea cliff. These features are considered to be of geologic worth, providing information on eruptive and depositional processes of hydromagmatic volcanoes worldwide as well as past volcanic activity of Seongsan Ilchulbong itself.
