Sir George Everest House is situated about 6 kms from Gandhi Chowk in Mussoorie and one of the major tourist attractions in Mussoorie. Sir George Everest's House and Laboratory, also known as the Park Estate was built in 1832. It was the home and laboratory of Sir George Everest. He was a Surveyor-General of India from 1830 to 1843. Sir George was largely responsible for completing the section of the Great Trigonometric Survey of India along the meridian arc from the south of India extending north to Nepal. Hillary and Tenzing were the first successful persons who ascended the Mount Everest. Later on they named this peak as a Mount Everest to give tribute to Sir George Everest. The house is situated in a place from where you can see panoramic view of the Doon Valley on one side and the snow clad Himalayan ranges on the other

Located at the Mall Road, Sir George Everest House has been home to the famous Welsh surveyor and geographer, Sir George Everest. He couldn’t stay untouched by the charm of Mussoorie and lived in here for some good thirty years. His house is now a famous tourist spot and is 6 km from Library Bazaar, easily accessible by cab. Built way back in the year 1832, this house showcases some interesting facts about the life of this famous personality. You can also treat yourself to some amazing views of the verdant Aglar River valley on one side and the snow-capped Himalayas on the other from this point.

Sir George Everest’s House and Laboratory, also known as the Park Estate, is situated about 6 kilometres (4 mi) from Gandhi Chowk / Library Bazaar, (West end of the Mall Road, in Mussoorie). Built in 1832 it was the home and laboratory of Sir George Everest. The house is situated in a place from where one can experience the panoramic view of Doon Valley on one side and a panoramic view of the Aglar River valley and the snowbound Himalayan ranges on the other.

This is our first video to George everest (Mussoorie) , we started at morning 0400 reached on the top of the cliff at 0600 although missed the sunrise part but still managed to make some time lapse, took some cinematic shots and photographs.
Must place to visit if you come to Dehradun and see a beatiful scenery all around. You can hire a two wheeler and plan your trip to George everest and spend a night with a camp fire.

Everest owned a house in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, India, for about 11 years. He purchased it, sight unseen, from General Whish. Although now virtually derelict, it still has its roof, and there have been various plans to make it into a museum.
Built in 1832, the house is known today as Sir George Everest's House and Laboratory, or Park House. The house is situated in Park Estate about 6 kilometres west of Gandhi Chowk / Library Bazaar, (the west end of Mall Road in Mussoorie). Its location has panoramic views of the Doon Valley on one side and the Aglar River valley and the Himalayan Range to the north.

This is the second part of our Delhi - Mussoorie Road Trip.
In this vlog, we continue our journey from Dehradun and reach Mussoorie.
Our first stop was George Everest House in Mussoorie , also known as the Park Estate. We reached the Lal Tibba View point (highest view point in Mussoorie ), and witnessed the beauty of sunset and the Winterline. We did face some difficulties, but this was one hell of a day!
