In this episode of Travelogue, Tianran He travels to Qingdao on China’s east coast. A former German concession, it’s home to grand colonial-era villas and the world famous Tsingtao Beer Brewery. It’s also the country’s sailing capital and one of China’s most livable cities with a refreshing mix of progress and heritage.

Qingdao is SUCH a cool place, and NOT ENOUGH people know about it. Situated by the sea, the basic rules for happiness here are: drinking beer, eating seafood, and swimming in the ocean. Perfecto. It does have its quirks though.... they drink beer out of plastic bags
