How America Inspired Nazi Germany
Since the election of Donald Trump the Neo-Nazi movement in America has become emboldened. This video goes into detail on how America inspired the Nazi regimes race laws and laws towards disabled people, while Hitler viewed the genocide of the Natives and Manifest Destiny as something to be emulated in Eastern Europe.
The US has never fully come to terms with the depths of its racism as it has only gone from strength to strength as a world power, little time has been giving to assess what has been so 'bad' about a country so 'great'. A lot of its racist history has been actively celebrated for centuries, from Christopher Columbus, it's slave-holding founders, General Lee, Andrew Jackson and Woodrow Wilson. While Germany has had to reconcile with its genocidal past in a massive way- especially since its reunification-the US has not done so in a similar vein - which has laid the foundation for a strong white supremacist movement to remain in the US in the 21st century.

EXPLORING COLUMBUS, OHIO - THE KID FRIENDLY WAY
I was recently in Columbus exploring with a family to create a film about their experiences. It turns out I would have done 75% of the things we did on my own as a solo traveler.
There were so many unexpected things I learned while I was there. For starters, Columbus has an incredible food scene! Brassica in the neighborhood of Short North was my favorite place for lunch. Short North in general is a great area to walk around to eat, shop or just people watch.
Another neighborhood I really enjoyed getting lost in was German Village. Many of the homes are covered in Ivy and are Instagram worthy. Make sure you also swing by The Book Loft (you can see it in the film above) when you're in German Village. There are 32 rooms to get lost in and find a new book to read.

Columbus is Ohio’s state capital. The city’s Scioto Mile is a string of parks on both sides of the Scioto River, with a huge interactive fountain and trails. On the west bank, the COSI science center offers hands-on exhibits and a planetarium. Downtown, the Columbus Museum of Art includes American and European paintings and a sculpture garden. The German Village area has restored brick houses built by 1800s settlers.
Columbus is the capital of the American state of Ohio and is located centrally within the state in the Mid-Ohio region. Sited in an area where the Rust Belt, Bible Belt, Appalachia, and the Plains meet, Columbus is a fusion of many different parts of America. It is the home of Ohio State University. The combination of Ohio Government and Ohio State University has fueled amazing growth both financially and physically in Columbus. It has created a business and research enviroment that has provided substantial employment opportunities to the diverse ethnic and local graduates of Ohio State University, and other academic institutions in Columbus. The Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC), is projected to be one of the top 50 supercomputers in the world and among the top 10 supercomputing academic centers.

Northwest Columbus
Northeast Columbus

What Ohio's capital city (and largest city) lacks in mega sights and wild quirks it makes up for with unexpected food and arts scenes. Better yet, Columbus is easy on the wallet, an influence from Ohio State University's 59,000-plus students (the campus is the nation's second largest). A substantial gay population also has taken up residence in Columbus in recent years.
Named after the Italian explorer who sailed under the Spanish flag (In 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue), this city is the largest in Ohio in terms of population with 787,033, and the 15th largest city in the United States—though with only 1.7 million people, the metropolitan statistical area is relatively small (the 31st largest in the nation and the 3rd of 4th largest in Ohio). Major area employers are state government (as the state capital), Ohio State University (the largest student population in the nation) and numerous Fortune 500 companies headquartered here (Cardinal Health, Nationwide Insurance, Limited Brands, etc.). It is a day's drive from one half of the U.S. population and is located at the intersection of I-70 and I-71.
