[E] Domaine Gerovassiliou in Greece
*Come on a Wine & Food Tour with us!* --- Interview with Evangelos Gerovassiliou founder and owner of Domaine Gerovassiliou. He founded the winery in 1981.
Domaine Gerovassiliou is a winery located not far from Thessaloniki (Thessalonica) in the hillsides of Epanomi, in northern Greece.
Evangelos Gerovassiliou believes that the future of Greek wine is based on the indigenous native varieties, for example, malagousia, a grape variety he revived and saved from oblivion.
The winery makes both red and white wines, white are both dry and sweet. Evangelos Gerovassiliou also co-owns another Greek winery called Biblia Chora further to the north. he also has a wine estate in Stellenbosch in South Africa.

Avantis Estate Malagousia, Greece (2012)
Mr. Jeff A. is interrupted from his pre-wine tasting moment of zen to give us a juicy and irreverent introduction to a wonderful Greek white wine featured on our July wine bar menu. The Malagousia reminds Jeff of his childhood, replete with fruit loops cereal, Saturday morning cartoons and multi-generational chewing of juicy fruit gum. Jeff doesn't want to grow up nor do we want him to. Please come in and see Jeff and check out this wine.
