Get Up and Go! Tours Fethiye reviews
5 Star Rating
Aydin, the owner of the Company picked us up from the hotel in his own car. Even though there was only two of us, he didn't want to disappoint us by cancelling.
Aydin drove us to Calis beach where we had an hour to stroll around and relax and have a drink at one of the many bars along the seafront and take in the beautiful sunset.
When we arrived at Fethiye harbour Aydin gave us a short historical tour before taking us to the local fish market where we enjoyed a fabulous meal.
Aydin of Get Up and Go! Tours was polite, friendly and professional and made us feel really welcome. Can't recommended Get Up and Go! Tours enough.

Turkey Road Trip day 5 Fethiye, Oludeniz, Butterfly Valley, Antalya. by Life Travel Pepper
Getting up in the morning and looking at Fethiye blue coast was something breathtaking!!!
We decided to start the day by enjoy Calis beach and relaxing on the sand. To recover energies we delighted ourselves with a fantastic breakfast that Yasmin Hotel offered us and drank the famous turquish tea, always present on the turquish meals.
Full of energy we got on the road again, inspired by what we would discover during the day…Oludeniz and the Butterfly Valley!!!
As we were arriving at Oludeniz we could felt on our bodies the beauty that was presented to us on the horizon…turquoise coast on it´s magnificence!!! Strong blue, hot, and stunning beaches in the middle of gorgeous curved bays!!!! We just wanted to lay down and enjoy the day, and so we did it at the Green Pine beach, surrounded by a beautiful green camp with little huts where we could rest for a while and big straw umbrellas near the warm water.
Saddly, we got quiet disappointed when we realized that on that day and the next it was not possible to get on a boat trip to Butterfly Valley because the ocean was a bit sloppy (boat trip is the only way to get to that fantastic valley nowadays). So, we decided to go watch it from the high view point on the mountain and at least getting it on video with the drone. Better than nothing!!!!
After a nice meal during the afternoon, we started a new course, crossing for a long time a few high, rocky and craggy mountains surrounded with beautiful landscapes.
At night we finally arrived at Antalya, a vibrant city of people, with small paths and thrilling restaurants and stores, where we had a delicious dinner and a nice walk on foot before we go rest at Casa Sur Hotel, a cozy and striking house , two steps across the famous Hadrian´s gate.
Second trip to Turkey Oludeniz in October
Went second to Oludeniz with brand new Emilie Peace 2 and Maya harness. There was no chance to ground handle or test fly because late arrival of wing. So up you go and launch :D

Paragliding over Oludeniz - The Blue Lagoon, Fethiye
This is the Blue Lagoon in Turkey!
I visit every year, even if it's only for a day or two. My mom is from this area and I find myself lucky that I was able to spend my summers here as a child. This beach is the most popular and know in Turkey, you can find on every magazine if It is about Turkey and vacationing :))
However, you have the city Fethiye, then there is Hisaronu, which I call the holiday party village and Oludeniz, the famous beach. Of course there are other areas that are also beautiful, but more about those in future videos.
This was my third time paragliding at Babadag mountain, there are many companies offering this type of activity and it's usually around $60 + $10 if you want videos and pictures they take up in the sky, and airdrop it to your phone easily.
The meeting point is usually by the beach, but they also offer pick up depending on who you choose.
It takes about 30 mins to drive to the top of the mountain, and you stay in the air about 15/20 mins, again depending on the person you fly maybe longer ((:
Be aware, they don't allow anyone to have their phones out while in the air since it could hurt ppl or damage anything it hits, if it should fall out of your hands. And my assumption also is that they want the picture/video business to do good as well, which is understandable.
Just a few tips on what to do while in this area:
- 12 Islands Tour, dock at Fethiye pier and last I checked, it was about $10/15, with lunch
leaves the dock at 9:30 AM and comes back around 6 PM
- Horseback Riding, there are multiple different companies
- There is another Boats Tour to Butterfly Valley, when there at the right time (around May), you will get to see the butterflies
- A ferry goes to Rhodes Island, Greece also from Fethiye Pier and takes about 2 hrs each way. The earliest leaves at 8:30 AM and latest leaves Rhodes at 4:30 PM, or you could stay the night. I would suggest to stay a night or two. My day trip was not enough for sure.
- Turkish Hamam/Bath, I would suggest to go at the beginning of your trip, so you can get a perfect tan that stays. They offer great oil massages and different services, just ask.
- There's a lot of shopping you can do for friends and family and of course great food
- By the way, there are little busses to get around and they are very inexpensive, those are called Dolmush. You can find them easily and there are many bus stops along the streets
I hope this was helpful, comment below if you have any questions!

Olu-Deniz, Turkey, 2019
Early arrival this year meant it was relatively quiet before the build-up to the 20th Air Games.
Not as many flights as previous years, but quality and personal bests more than made up for that. A peak altitude of over 10,000 feet (3040 meters), a total airtime of 13 hours 41 minutes, an FAI triangle of 36km, an XC of 38.5km. Seven flights made from the mountain - all but one on the 1,900m and my first exit from the new 1,700 one - three landings away from the beach, four on the Prom.
Trying to get the best bits out of all the video without making the result too big is always a challenge and I'm not sure I've got it down enough this time, but there was only so much I could trim down - 13+ hours down to 13 minutes can't be that bad?. Enjoy :D
1st flight was with high cloud cover so the camera went into the wing for some arial shots on the way down from a simple top-to-bottom flight.
2nd flight was quite different - a 'hotter than usual' period meant greater potential for higher climbs and I was treated to a peak of over 10k feet (3040 meters) today and it was really nice to stay up for 3:39 keeping cool in the high altitudes avoiding the baking beach! Several short hops over to Mendos behind and back eventuall leading to a push over to Butterfly Bay before riding the sea-breeze back to town.
3rd flight offered the lure of XC and I pushed South away from the masses on the main mountain. A couple of 'low saves' meant I was able to inch my way back and after another 3+ hour flight I came back to the beach to land in front of the Cloud9 bar - an FAI triangle of 22.3miles (36km) and a very rewarding outing.
4th flight had me tempted to make a crossing over the valley to the East and making a very similar line to one last year, ended up landing within inches of the same spot - near to a Dolmus 'rest area' so it was an easy trip back on the bus to town! An XC of nearly 16miles and clearing 9k feet in the process.
5th flight started from the 1,900 launch with some pretty strong Westerly winds which was clearly catching a lot of pilots out resulting in some pretty nasty injuries. After watching the melee for a time before setting up I found it quite comparable with a lot of UK opportunities, and had no problem with getting airborne! Soon in amongst the clouds again I pushed to the South and was soon making better progress than I had last year, clearing all the way to the beach at Karadere. I had the big hills to the East once again in my sights and went for a crossing only to be hit by the sea-breeze at Palamut and eventually getting grounded just at the foothills. A short walk into town, a taxi to Fethiye, and a Dolmus back to town was all part of the adventure - 75km (via Saklikent) to get back along the roads! :D
6th flight was a little frustrating as I pushed South again under a lower cloudbase but then elected to turn back, getting stuck on the lower hills of Mendos behind Babadag. After a lot of scratching around I managed to get back to the top only to get tempted out into the valley under what looked to be a bit of convergence. Not wanting to get stranded too far away today I tried to push back again but got drilled on the NE side and landed near Bozyer. After a short hike I was picked up by a kind man on a motorbike which resulted in my first ever 'pillion' ride (not enthralled at carrying a 20kg rucksack and wearing only flip-flop shoes!!) to an intersection where I got straight onto a Dolmus and back to town in time for 'one last go'?
7th, and final, flight was meant to be for the 'sunset' but due to only getting as far as the '1,700' launch where a few hundred other pilots were fighting for space with tricky conditions I set about getting away earlier than planned. Cloud, quite thick in places, was building below launch obscuring the town which had people delaying launching, but still taking up limited space on the deck. I could see a route behind, to the North, avoiding the dangerous prospect of flying through cloud with so many others in the air, so found a small space and went for it! I got away on my second attempt, with the breeze switching continuously, and flew around the edges to stay visible and away from the majority - who just 'went for it'! - to enjoy the beautiful sun reflection coming over the sea capturing as much as I could on video in the calm, silky smooth, air. Landing was bang on target outside the BuzzBar avoiding the masses who were all trying to hit the same spot further up.
ölüdeniz-volkan4 boat tour
Ölüdeniz boat trip is a very relaxing day out. Let us pick you up from your hotel and cruise the bays of Ölüdeniz and top up your tan along the way. Swim in the blue cave and then go ashore at Butterfly Valley and if you are feeling energetic, climb up to the waterfall and you might glimpse a rare tiger Butterfly.

paragliding over Olu Deniz Bay, Turkey
On my last day in Turkey I decided to live a little and go paragliding. Olu Deniz is a fantastic base for people who love active holidays with safari tours and paragliding or if you fancy a slower pace you can relax at Olu Deniz's beautiful beach and lagoon.
My paragliding experience took and hour to drive up to the top of the mountain overlooking Olu Deniz Bay with some sheer drops it was definitely a test of nerves and a taste of things to come.
The views over Olu Deniz were the most beautiful I have ever seen. Paragliding down to the beach took 45 minutes, I went in the early evening so it was not too hot.
Even though I was a tiny bit petrified it was one of the best experiences I have ever done and would suggest to all who is in the Olu Deniz area to go for it!
BEAUTIFUL SEA BLUE LAGOON - ÖLÜDENİZ - FETHİYE / TURKEY
Ölüdeniz
Ölüdeniz Oludeniz is the archetypal picture-postcard beach backed by dramatic pine-clad hills. Literally translated as 'dead sea', the stunning lagoon is a protected area, ensuring that its natural beauty is preserved. There is a small entrance charge to use the lagoon beach and only non-motorised watersports are allowed. The main resort beach is a long stretch of coarse sand and shingle beach known as Belceğiz. There is a strip alongside the seafront promenade with a number of relaxing bars and restaurants, serving local and international cuisine. Shops stay open well into the night. It is a perfect family resort, great for a laid-back beach holiday, with plenty of facilities but not too much development. Paragliding is a big draw with the descent from the Babadağ mountains to land on Belceğiz beach, rating as one of the best in the world. Oludeniz is 14 kilometres from the city of Fethiye and the winding road that leads you there is surrounded by pine trees. At the end of the road, before you reach Oludeniz, Belcekiz Cove with its wonderful blue sea welcomes you. The land around Oludeniz and the beach has been officially designated a protected area and has been converted into a National Park. If you walk along the beach the incomparable, calm sea of Oludeniz will enchant you with its sandy bottom and bright turquoise tones. The reflection of the pine trees on the water enriches the impression of the colours. There are numerous hotels and restaurants in the region but construction is strictly banned in the area of the Oludeniz Lagoon and the Kidrak Beach because these sites are classified as special protected areas.
Where is Ölüdeniz
Where is Ölüdeniz Oludeniz is a small resort village in the Muğla Province on the South West coast of Turkey on the Aegean Sea to the south and the high, steep sided Babadağ Mountain, 14 km (9 mi) south of Fethiye. The town is a beach resort. The area is known as the Turquoise Coast of Turkey - most probably due to it`s incredibly blue waters and sun drenched beaches. The whole region is covered with high mountains forming the southwestern peaks of the Taurus Mountains. These mountains exceed 2000 metres in places and extend all along the coastline The nearest airport of Dalaman is only 35 min drive away. There are frequent bus and taxi services from Dalaman and Antalya airports to Oludeniz.
Ölüdeniz History
Ölüdeniz History Oludeniz (or 'dead sea' or 'calm sea') takes its name from Turkish legend. In Medieval times, many Greek-bound Syrian and Egyptian ships used to pass by Oludeniz and take on board fresh water. According to legend, one of the handsome sons of an old captain and a gorgeous girl called Belcekiz fell in love as the son was on land to get drink water. However, the boy had to get the drinking water and return to his father's ship. Though the ship sailed away, Belcekiz watched for her lover to return. Each time the boy came to get water they saw each other and made love. One day, a storm blew up. The son told his father that he knew of a cove to shelter that was as still as a pool. The old father thought the son's suggestion came from his desire to see his lover and that he didn't care whether the ship sank or not. As the waves grew higher and the ship was about to crash onto the rocks, the father hit his son with an oar and he fell into the sea. After a while, the father found himself in an extremely still cove. He understood that his son was right but it was too late. His son's dead body was found on the rocks. Belcekiz, seeing that her lover was dead, committed suicide by jumping onto the rocks. From that day on the place she jumped from was named as Belcekiz and the place the boy died were named as Oludeniz (Dead Sea). Maybe the colours of the water that keep changing are fires of mourning, one for the boy and one for the girl.
